  1. I think the kind of arrows only affects your max hit with one, not the accuracy. What's with the rune helm anyway? Wear a coif, vambraces, ammy of power, maple bow and I think you'll have the maximum ranged bonus F2P can get. The higher your level/bonus, the less zeros you'll hit.
  2. +1! I got just because I can't stand the fact that I cannot cast a spell just because I didn't do some minigame like the mage training arena. I like to have things unlocked... *rushes over to mage arena to get flames of zammy and Sara strike* I really HATED the bone yard (didn't waste any nats so I got myself healed at duel arena = the hard/slow way) and the mazes. All that running around for...well....erm... bones to peaches!
  3. Either willows (fast) or yews (gp) Use the tip.it calculater for amounts.
  4. And now for his Boss... When will George W be sacked? Beye Don, Beye George Hello Hillary (jk) Sacking Rumsfeld was inevitable, but I hope it's the beginning of US troops coming home from Iraq, they have no buisiness there (or any other part of the world that is not the U.S.A.) so be a man, Mr Gates, and act!
  5. Not going into detail about the nazi thing.... BUT! Most of them make no difference between native speakers and foreigners (like me) when GeStaPo-ing the posters. I can type in my native language (almost) flawless(ly? gr?) but in English I can only try. Native speakers should be able not to make TOO many mistakes, but cut us foreigners some slack! I ALSO hate bad spelling/grammar as much as them, but sadly I'm in hardly any position to correct them. The most hilarious thing is when a corrector makes the grammar mistake as well... 1337/chat speak is a complete different matter, as it has nothing to do with grammar but with the general IQ of the typist, which is usually also just one digit....
  6. Yay, another Eddings fan! Yes, good ol' Belgarath could do that, but also mentioned it to be extremely NOT DONE... Anyway, on topic.... Since you would't stop aging (cells have "aging genes" called telomers), if you'd live forever (=immortality) you would age as such. It would be pretty pointles... Of course, when your brain rots away, there can be no life at all.... Furthermore, as stated before, outliving your friends, spouse children and other relatives sounds horrible to me. Everybody wants to become old, nobody wants to BE old. It's not a matter how old we become, but how we become old!
  7. I did it in the 50's of agility and it was a pain. Get it up to say 60 (wildy is really fast! but take precautions!) and you'll fail a lot less! Good luck!
  8. You are only a Noob when you start begging/annoying other people. Good to have you back! Since I assume you are not a pure of any kind: As for training: Any of the giant race that suits you best: Hill giants, moss giants (crowded) or ice giants. They drop big bones for prayer levelling, and some nice other things too, like mith/black kite. Train runecrafting to make runes for magic training. Get the higher levelled member runes from players or as monster drops (a LOT slower) and level your magic level. If you want to make some money: Woodcutting and smelting steel bars are the most profitable in F2P. So get that woodcuttting up, cut heaps of willows (sell 30-35 ea) skip to yews at 70 or so. Buy 1k iron (100 ea), 2k coal (170 ea) smelt 1k steel bars that sell for 550-600 ea. When you turn members, you possiblities are "numerous", there's a nice guide here on tip.it about it.
  9. quests: tuna and sweetcorn potatoes slayer: depends, hard tasks/camping: tuna+sweetcorn potatoes, else lobsters. In the wilderness (green dragons: I am the food (just got pK'ed AGAIN  lost glory due to smite... ) Getting healed up: monks, surgeons, cod. Yes, cod! I scavenge the shores of Catherby looking for seaweed, cod and mackarel to feed both me and my cat, while fishing. *congratulations, you just advanced a scavenging level. You can now scavenge the barrows for leftover Dharock-food*
  10. NO way Jose! I tink you need 2 lvl 95+ ppl to take on the KQ. 100+ for soloing. Keep your mind to the training of combat, do slayer. You might end up with A LOT of smaller, less expensive stuff but you'll get it more often. I'll take a rune full helmet every trip to the greaters over a 1/100000000000 chance of a d-chain from the KQ.
  11. On topic: No. I don't think anyone deserves the capital punishment, I think it is wrong in the first place. I suggest putting hin back into the dark hole they found him in, lock it and throw away the key. No luxury life in jail, harsh consitions are justified. Death is too mild anyway, especially by the firing sqaud. It would also turn him into a martyr for the few that still support him.
  12. Slayer tasks FTW!!! They give variation in what to kill, and if you really don't like the tsk, then there's the good ol' Burthorpe!
  13. No. You only lose some pizzazz points.
  14. trees are fast yet expensive xp if you have to buy the seeds. just plant seeds. Potatoes are easy because you only have to pay 2 buckets of reglar compost for guaranteed harvest! Especially at your low level, it's an easy and cheap way. Don't stand around watching it grow, do something else! Farm other patches, smelt/smith, whatever you want!
  15. Of course, I am PRO-stem cell research. Hey, else I wouldn't have a job! However, extreme caution should be applied. 1: Stem cell treatment is severly overrated. Yes, it has HUGE potentions, but as for now, the uses are severly limited. There are no wonder therapies yet. That is, of course, why research is needed. 2: The embryos used for getting the stem cells are "left over" embryos from IVF treatment. They are not "farmed" or "merchanted" in any way. 3: Apart from stem cell treatment, tissue engineering (growing complete organs) is highly Sci-FI. We can tissue engineer skin grafts (burn wounds) but that's pretty easy. A liver or so is a completely different thing. 4: Get your facts right about genetic modification vs. stem cell treatments. Treatment with stem cells has NOTHING to do AT ALL with genetic engineering/modification. So no creation of geniuses using stem cells.
  16. Until the numerous SALT treaties and banning of nuclear tests. We have not had a nuclear test SINCE the Cold War. Not True. Your friends/allies, the French, did one in the 90's on Mururoa (in the pacific, far away from France, so they didnt't have to bother about pollution... cowards...) I don't care wether North Korea, Iran or whatever counties have nukes, because they will never use them. USA allow friends to have them (UK, Israel, France etc.) but is offended when other countries that do not bow for their reign develop them. America should solve their own problems, not interfere in foreign politics in muslim (or any other) countries and that would take away (most of) the reason for international terrorism. For the kids who want WW3 to start: You are probably some immature kids who don't have to go to war yourselves. Wait until your mom/dad/brother/sister returns in a body bag, we'll talk then, ok? About preventing the production of nukes by NK by withdrawing food aid: It doesn't work. The regime makes sure they have enough, and the army enforcing their reign gets its share, so the regime will not be affected by millions of civilian casualties in the short term. I would like to see that we got rid of ALL nukes, but as long as the USA and the UN are not straightforward in their policy, that's NOT going to happen!
  17. If you take a look on the total amount of GP estimation Duke Freedom gave a week or so ago, you'll see that you are wrong(ish). There is more money made in the game (high-aching) than is drained from it (construction, barrows armour repair). So we are NOT running out of gp here. I think most prices are quite steady in non-merchant worlds. I'm usually in w53 or so, and there a shark is 1k, pray pots 6-8k (occasional bargains...) etc etc. The only thing that seems to have decreased in price lately, are yew logs. I don't really know why, and I don't want to know. For me, money is a secondary issue that facilitates some aspects of the game (e.g. buying armour for better combat accomplishments) but for me, the game is mostly about getting certain (or all) skills to a certain level. Of course I try to sell as high as possible, and buy as low as possible, but merchanting is not my way of playing the game. I will strike the occasional bargain, of course, but you won't see me in W1 merchaning either rares (lol, 2M cash available) or iron ores. Merchants have their way of playing the game, and that is fine by me. I don't care how other people want to play the game, everyone should play the way they see fit (by the rules, of course). But they DO influence the prices. For a mediocre player like me, that is not a real problem. I seldom power-[insert skill here] so I don't need bulk supplies. I'm mostly self-sufficient. But it surely affects/worries/gets on the minds of other players, for instance the creator of this topic.
  18. 1- Suqath -> I don;t think so 2- Too far a walk 3- Could be fastest, at teast it is for f2p 4- Could be fastest 5- Too far away 6- Closer then south one, further then Varrock/Yanille 7- Too far away NOTE: you need 66 magic to get into the guild, not a quest!
  19. tarromins and ashes -> serum 207 Tarromins are quite cheap, ashes are to be picked up in for instance draynor. Make potion (same exp as normal str pot) empty, rinse-repeat. Or: make prayer pots: buy ranarr weeds 6k (or less of course!) ea, get your own snape grass (hobgoblin peninsula or rellekka) and sell for 7k+ each. Or: farm the herbs! Get the seeds from pickpocketing master farmers, farm, get 2nd ingredients and off you go! Or: like the above poster said, kill choas druids, men, al-kharid warriors (+ROW) to get nice herb drops. There are also quests that give herblore exp as a reward, like the latest "my arm" quest and the "eadgars ruse" quest. All this is cheap, or even giving you profit!
  20. men and al-kharid warriors drop them too..and often!
  21. I think it doesn't matter. Quite sure of it.
  22. Gauntlets are no good, but you can do it with a chef's delight or an evil stew... mind you, the results from the stew are random, +6 or -6 at most.
  23. So you are allowed to buy it for a friend, but it is recommended to do so in real life.
  24. However, it can be done. To minimise the risk, you can have a RL friend pay for you. After all, JaGEx want the money and don't really care who sends it. I think the rule is meant for your own protection. If you have membership activated, change the password, pin and recovery questions and you should be fine. There's always a risk, however, so it is NOT recommended. If it's a RL friend, at least you can beat him up
  25. Don't do it with fire blast. This spell also gives magic exp for each point of damage done! Furthermore: there are safspots at the lessers and the white knights, so you don't have to use any food while training on them. Another potential target could be the ice giants in the cave near Thurgo the dwarf. Ice <-> fire spells should hit high, but need conformation on that. Also, the big bones they drop are a nice way to level prayer, especially in F2P where it is hard to level anyway. You can try curse failing in full metal armour (any kind) with dragnhide vambraces to maximise your negative magic bonus. It involves a lot of clicking, though and you stated you hate that before...
