  1. please add me, bedman, to the p2p list :-)
  2. It's strange to read about how they plan everything so carefully and yet they keep 76king alive with a halfass "fix". Same goes for other seemingly brainless updates.
  3. bedman replied to TeamRealT's topic in Help and Advice
Are you sure the system doesnt remember A and B met before? (even if there is one kill in between)
  4. Happens more and more lately. Anyone know by what it is caused?
  5. Hehe, I thought about doing that too once I got high enough prayer and summoning. And how do I use hide tags? I can't find the button on this new forum, so I guess you just have to do it manually? [hide]hi[/hide]
  6. This 'spider agility course' beats all the course we have hands down. I did the gymnastic bar swing thingy and the kungfu wall running back and forth, and it's amazing how my character suddenly becomes Spiderman! Regarding the new 76k changes, how good is it in preventing tricking? I see lots of posts about how it's lame and players can bypass it using 3 or more players, but has anyone actually tested it out? Thats what I'm wondering about too. Acoording to Mod Mark H it isnt that simple (he replies to some topic somewhere else, will post the qfc later)
  7. At first I thought, hmm tricking isn't fixed so inflation will stay, but the more I think and read about it, the more comlicated it seems. It seems to all boil down to this question: Will the people that tricked before do the effort to form organised clans and find scamfree systems to keep exploiting the pvp system? Or will they go back to their previous activities, whatever it was. The problem is I dont trick myself so I don't know that much about the tricking community, but I personally wouldn't do all that effort. Heck, I didn't even do it before, when it was easy. I really cba doing nothing to gain ep, even when it is half afk. That's why I sold most of my highly inflated items that I don't use that much (Had a bunch of runes, addy bars, gold ore, oak planks, ...). I will be watching everything closely though. EDIT: Hm, interesting: --- QFC 15-16-842-59796820 You can DM people, but after the first time you won't get good loot. We do understand that is a consequence (as we said in the post) but if you are just DM'ing for fun then that's no an issue right? ~ MMH ~
  8. Pretty easy question. Will your, or not? Interested to see what the real effect is like.
  9. Actually, they are useless, for the most part. Extreme Attack, Strength, Defense, and Range face the same problem that Super Attack, Strength, Defense, and Mage do - they get negated by Saradomin Brews. Unless you are in a PvP situation rather than PvM (competing with a crashing team for kills, versus just killing the boss alone or with your team), forgoing stat boosting potions altogether and just bringing more prayer / healing will get you more kills in the same amount of time, once you factor the time delving through waterbirth, or killing 40 GWD monsters, getting your teams together, etc. Only when you expect to have to compete with another team were Super Potions really useful. But kill speed doesn't reduce the amount of time spent waiting for a spawn, or time spent preparing for the trip. Extreme Magic would be good, except Magic has never been a weapon-of-choice for bosses with exception of Dagannoth Rex. Dagannoth Rex exemplifies the same problems that plagues Super Attack/Strength/Defense/Range - killing faster doesn't speed of spawn time, so time per kill decreases only marginally. It doesn't help that runes have gone up in price... Besides those... Super Antifire is still good, but it was never PvP related in the first place (items that prevent dragonfire didn't block DFS or Dragon Bolts last I checked). Special Restore makes me laugh - not worth the space unless you're competing for kills. Extreme Prayer is good, but most of the time, Super Restore is better since it allows the use of Brews. Overload is good, but the periodic hp drop can be fatal if it happens at the wrong time, and the 50 hp recovered at the end may be wasted if it happens at the wrong time. Do you see a pattern here? Because I sure do - these potions are useful only in the PvP situations that Jagex failed to correct, such as FFA Corporeal Beast or GWD Bosses, or as substitutes for their Super counterparts in activities like slayer... where you really don't need the minor bonus anyways, and it's hardly worth the effort. I have to agree with your arguments about GWD and DKS, but for things like KQ, KBD, and TDs, these pots help a lot. For slayer, they have an effect that is big enough to warrant there use. I mean, people are pietying and cannoning and paying loads to get faster xp. At first I thought these pots were very expensive because you have to add another expensive second, but then I realised you gain very good xp for that. Take super attacks for instance. I happen to have 500 super attack (3) in bank. If I want to upgrade them, I will have to pay roughly 1.8m in avantoes. However, I will get 220k experience. Last time I checked that is a VERY good gp/xp rate for lvling herblore + the lvling is extremely quick. But yeah, you are right, Jagex did a bad move. I just wanted to point out that they do still have uses. That's why I'm currently aiming to get them. Never been a big team boss hunter anyway.
  10. Damn, I really expected they would add them to clan wars, cwars etc over time.
  11. woah, high averages here. You guys just skill all the time?
  12. I wonder what average Zarfot, my efficieny god has. Anybody has got him as a friend?
  13. Haha you've played for exactly 2 days more than me  I kinda like this new thing, even though mine is a bit boring atm. 44k xp/hour on average for me, pretty decent. Wow, that's very nice considering you train all skills even and not just the fast ones to 99. I wonder what Zarfot will have, my efficiency god.
  14. Thats a nice average. At least you can say you've played efficiently, hehe.
  15. I just checked my own log, it is true. 159 days played, ouch.
  16. The profile thing is true! Check picture thread.
  17. 159 days played here, ouch. EDIT: that comes down to 35,5k xp an hour for my whole time on RS. Not that bad I guess :-)
  18. Hmm, they wait months and months and then introduce some halfass countermeasurement that anyone can think of in a day, and that most players had considered obsolete since it wouldn't solve the core problem. It will slow down the 76king, but will it stop inflation? Hard to tell if you ask me. Not sure if I should start buying armadyl etc for min. edit: I noticed they are not very clear about how they exactly implemented it. Maybe there is more but they don't want to reveal the exact way to avoid abuse. Even then however, a good system should be clear and non abusable. If it is abusable, players will find out, it's just a matter of time.
  19. I would do fruit bats. Last time I calculated you pay like 1.5k or so for an extra 30xp (assuming you trade in for shards afterwards). With a cheap second like bananas, those green charms are actually not that expensive. Fruit bat pouches have gotten pretty expensive too lately so by selling in GE, you lose even less.
  20. bump
  21. Strange. I got like 8K vials in the first few days after the update, and then, with the same offer, it just totally stopped and went down to a few vials a day. About the bots: there are much more profitable things to do for bots than buying vials.
  22. Exactly my thoughts. And @ fishy, 5b isn't indeed that impressive, I thought he had much much more.
  23. Why be so silly? Relying on a +6 boost is stupid, it's nigh-impossible to get. Train your skill until you are 4 levels from the required level. It's what I did for Smithing (88-> 92: Dragon platebody) and Crafting (86-90: Fury). It took less than 5 stews. Agreed. I regularly use stews for things like this, and you should consider it a +5 boost at best, not +6, because it is so wonderfully rare. This should be noted in the items database. At least get one level for it. Takes 5 hours to get 86 smithing which has no use for me and looks worse than 85. Would cost about 1600k too, about an hour of doing herb runs (which I'd do anyway, so actually more like 1.5 hours of crafting astrals). It is possible to collect spices for and eat 50 stews per hour. So, in the time it takes me to get 86 smithing (we'll just ignore the time it would take to get the +5 boost since it isn't rare), I could have used 300 stews. There's a 1/125 chance on a +6 boost each stew (5 possibilities, -2/-1/0/+1/+2, you need three +2's so 0.2^3. credits to brunokiller for this ). (124/125)^300 = 9%. So, since there was a 91% chance I'd get that +6 boost within 6 hours, I decided just to do that and don't bother with smithing. I even googled around some forums, and people usually recommend others to get the extra level for a +5 boost 'because the +6 boost took me about 40 stews :o'. I honestly don't think it was such a weird decision, and I'm not going to throw away the 8 hours already spent on it because there's another 91% chance I'll get it in the next 6 hours  Would be funny if you get the boost right before stats go down every minute. You are like "yes!", and one second later it's 90 again.

Getting 90 herblore myself too. I'm having trouble getting super enegy's and antifires though. Bad move to wait for the "to settle". They still have a long way to go, if you look at the gp/xp.
