  1. I remember when Sony tried to advertise the capacity of their network minidisc or something (might have been an MP3 player, I don't remember) as a stupidly high amount - what the small print revealed was that they were showing the capacity when all songs were at 48kbps...
  2. No, you evidently didn't read the rest of the topic because I said that the RIAA aren't going to be suing the limewire users as (a) they lack the information to do it - logs of transfers and the suchlike and (B) they are going after the big fish.
  3. I find: CustomizeGoogle Flashblock Forecastfox IE View Menu Editor Tabbrowser Preferences ...Particularly useful.
  4. Actually read the rest of the topic, hasnol143, and you might find out.
  5. All the hard disk based MP3 players I've ever come across (including iPods) are measured in decimal gigabytes; not binary. That's why a brand new 20GB iPod will show up at 18.5GB in the about section - because it is 20 decimal GB (10^9 bytes) but the firmware displays it in binary GB (2^30 bytes). The same goes for normal hard disks too.
  6. I am partially posting this to see if anyone else has experienced a similar problem. Within the last couple of weeks there have been around 5 topics in total (haven't noticed a rule for which are affected) that have simply refused to open for me after a while. I have no problem loading every other topic on the forum, nor do I have a problem with doing anything like replying, reporting etc. It doesn't matter whether it has several pages or not; it has happened with multi and single page topics. I have tried loading them on another machine in this house but it has not worked either. One of the topics that is affected for me right now is the MP3 player one in off topic (topic 530435). It doesn't seem to even get halfway and load the title of the page, as my browser has done when it has been failing with other sites. I had been able to access this particular topic until it reached around 6 replies. Input? Similar experiences?
  7. An MP3 player isn't automatically an iPod - some people just say 'iPod' when they mean MP3 player and that is wrong. I have a 3rd generation iPod 20GB which I've had since 2003. My PocketPC also plays MP3s and I've got a 2GB SD card in it. I only really listen to the iPod whilst driving now, but I've got some Shure E2c earphones.
  8. Between FF and Opera it's just a matter of personal preference.
  9. By mentioning whatever service you use you are taking this topic 1 step closer to getting locked.
  10. Within the last few years it has seemingly ceased to be 'can I borrow X CD?' - it is now 'can I rip X CD?'.
  11. I'm average speed for everything except really spicy things (slow) and pasta (fast). I think I eat pasta really quickly because I find it goes cold rather fast.
  12. I am particularly looking forward to going back to uni because it's going to be just my girlfriend and I in a flat, cohabitation 'for the win'.

No; they don't. Plenty of christians see the bible as a historical text and treat it as a reference as opposed to a complete guide on how to live.
  15. That is doubtful. The RIAA are not a technical consortium, far from it, in fact this is the group who base their cases on the misinformation that an IP = a person and drops them when the defendant points out that that is not true. That is not to say that any IP-hiding things are going to work; just that the RIAA are not all-powerful network gurus. If they were as intelligent as you make them out to be then they'd be suing people and not leaving a way for them to easily get out of it as they are doing now - they have just been successful so far because the defendants are generally computer-illiterate. Or dead. As for people not having the RIAA in their countries - I made a point of this earlier. In the UK we have the BPI and whilst they have done some lawsuits I think it was just one run of them and they haven't done any since. It seems they're not as desperate for money as the RIAA. I haven't heard of any lawsuits against individuals in any countries besides the US and the UK, but that's not to say there weren't any. One thing that annoys me is the US-UK pricing conversions - whilst it would make sense that an item which is $10 in the US should be ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã6 in the UK I can safely say that that never happens; it is pretty much always the case that they'll just change the $ in the price to a ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã - leaving us paying nearly twice as much for something.
  16. What a load of tripe, you could support artists and avoid the filler tracks by using something like iTunes.
  17. Funny, my story is the opposite. A few of the guys on my course are on cable, they say that the connection is unreliable and they have to reset their box thing frequently.
  18. In the same way that my cause is to bring about world peace. They are both ideals that the party knows will never be attained and so they adopt more immediate goals - making money in their case, having fun in mine.
  19. Indeed, fair enough. That's why I didn't say something (intentionally) offensive :P
  20. If you read my reply further up this page you'll see that no individual will be getting sued as a result of this. The RIAA has only the IPs, not the logs of what was transferred when. Whats more the RIAA has no power in the UK. Their equivalent here is the BPI.
  21. I was lying half asleep in bed when the cat walked over my face, knocking a wobbly tooth out.

It seems you'll believe anything so: get yourself banned from this forum and you are guaranteed a place in heaven.
  23. It will never accomplish what? Your sentence doesn't make sense. If you mean it will never accomplish shutting down a network; it already has.
  24. And made yourself as bad as them?
  25. I'm not so sure, given your talent for not seeing the obvious :)
