^ no arguments there except: 1. Saradomin's Whisper is better than either of the above when not praying, +8 all melee attack and +12 strength, maybe somewhat expensive, but still a better choice regardless 2. Dragon Defender > DFS. The only time DFS is truly useful is boss hunting or when you don't have access to Super Anti-dragonfire potions during a Dragon task, otherwise Defender is superior, (+20 to all melee attack easily offsets the 1 strength difference, and defence usually is not an issue during slaying).

Granted, despite your lack of a wish, you fall into a sewer hole, fulfilling your dreams of being rich (from the insurance payout) but cannot spend it

Granted, however the universe you know is a computer generated delusion. I wish for making a very important discovery that progressed mankind by several thousand years.

I agree with that statement to some extent. bots are very hard to completely eradicate (much like everything and anything in Real Life), but I am of the opinion that players and the game makers should at least control the bot situation to a more acceptible situation, or else eventually it will run completely out of control and bots would be the only things 'playing' 'ruined-scape'

Hey all, I have let my membership run on for a while now and have amassed about 100k Loyalty points. I am considering spending them on Auras, but I have a couple of questions regarding them before making any purchase: 1. According to the information I have, if I happen to lose an aura, I would have to go back to Xuan to replace it. Does replace here mean 'Free' or do I have to buy the aura again? 2. Do the auras count as items (IE take up bank spaces, dropped/destroyed when killed, etc?) 3. I am currently looking at the Resourceful Aura as a possible purchase, if not at least for the increased chance of getting more red sandstones, opinions on this? 4. Lastly, apart from JoT and possibly Wisdom, what other auras would you get for skilling? assuming no preferance to any skill. Thanks!

Let's assume that the technological feasibilty is not questionable for this situation, I'd be very surprised if anyone managed to eat a gps tracker in a candy bar without actually noticing the GPS tracker. If the above is possible, what the hell is it doing in nestle's candy bar? that should be DoD material.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
chenw replied to runescapeloser22's topic in Off-Topic
Just loaded up Torchlight 2, to be perfectly honest, after my first impressions of Torchlight 1, I was quite pleasantly surprised at the game play of TL2, much more akin to D2 with a mix of (the good parts of) D3. I still don't like the Skill points system though, but at least the respec guy alleviates this, somewhat. I do like their gold chest mechanic, I just hope that their drop was slightly better than what they were dropping now. -
Well, the general standard outfit for slayer these days are either Bandos top and Bottom or Proselyte top and Verac skirt and use Piety or turmoil throughout the task (assuming you have the access to either). Failing those, Fighter Torso from BA and either Verac skirt or Bandos Tasset. Barrows armor are hardly used these days, even the old days of Guthan are long gone (even torags are more expensive than Guthan), but if cannot afford a Bunyip (level 69 summoning), then Guthan would be your main source of healing. If you don't mind questing, I'd highly suggest at least making some decent progress into the Recipe for disaster for at least the rune gloves (requires all but 1 of the delegates saved). Lastly, I highly recommend doing the Smoking Kills quest, and get the Slayer Helmet from the points you get there after, the helm makes certain tasks much faster (notables include Spectres and Dusties).

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
chenw replied to runescapeloser22's topic in Off-Topic
I found the core game rather hard at the start too, so hard that I eventually 'cheated' by creating a character in Hordes of the Underdark to get it automatically to level 15 then play the core game with that character (///)... I would attempt the game again properly eventually, although I have a feeling that the game is rather unforgiving to caster classes. -
Deletion is correct on nearly all accounts, Martingale system runs away VERY quickly, due to the doubling nature of the bets. However to nitpick, your 10th loss is 512M on that bet only, but you would have already lost 1023M up to that point Repeated use of the Martingale system, assuming finite gambler capital, will by itself be a HUGELY favourable betting system to the house, simply because, when looked at the house's side, odds are in your favor, you don't lose much, even for a lucky streak on the gambler's part, but there the chance of gambler going bankrupt is bound to happen sooner or later. EG in the 1m bets above, losing 9 in a row for the house only loses them 9m, but losing 9 in a row for the gambler nets 511M for the house.

That in Gambling is called Gambler's Fallacy, by using a misunderstanding of probability to convince oneself that s/he 'will win eventually'. There is a reason why there is a phrase called 'The House always wins', in that if you bet an infinite number of times, the outcome will always be in House's favor, never in yours. I'll take an example, the chances of losing 10 coil flips is 1/(2^10), or 1/1024, an unlikely event. Suppose you actually lost 9 of those flips, does it means you, on your next flip, will win, because you should only have a minute chance of losing 10 coin flips in a row. Gambler's Fallacy states, yes, my 10th coin flip will be my lucky one. Probability will tell you the actual correct answer: it is still 50:50. The previous 9 (or 999,999) coin flips have absolutely no impact on your 10th (or 1,000,000th) flip.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?

Oh, I actually meant when facing the final boss, not the actual Mimic boss, all of my characters took the Mimic Job -
That would have been a very well kept secret on their part, considering I am their next door neighbour and I have never heard of anyone being executed due to tax evasion.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?

Theres a chemist mix that kills Exdeath instantly. But then you wouldn't be a man. I didn't even bother going with chemist, nor free lancers at the end. My party was: Bartz Knight + Spellblade Lenna White mage+ Time Krille Dragoon+ Red (for emergencies, couldnt find anything worth it for Krille) Faris Black Mage+ Summon (I thought the game would let me name her, so I went with the intent of Rydia, but oh well, Black+ Summon was a beast combo) Titan helped me out so much on early 2nd world. Dragoon and Knight were also really good jobs, but Mystic Knight with Flare/Holy Blade is so powerfull it's ridiculous. I also limited myself out of cheap tactics like chemist mixs, Spellblade rapidfires and Finishers (I played the GBA version). As for the jobs themselves, they do have heavy disparities between other FF games. Bahamut is useless if you get syldra and are not fighting any lighning resistent monsters, Flare is really weak compared to Holy, which is the best single target damage in the game, apart from lucky meteor flukes. Speaking of which, Meteor is so wierd in this game. I love the concept of multiple hits but sometimes it jinxs you by just going 1.8k- 29- 500- 900. My second favourite FF though, and I played them all apart from the first 3 now. I grinded it out so that all for characters were on Mimic Class, all had Dual Cast (the final ability of Red Mage), 2 had Time/White (for 5x casting holy, Dual cast Holy/Quick, then dual dual-cast Holy), 2 had Time/Summon (Same as above, but replace with Bahamut instead of Holy). You could call that cheating, but meh :P My most recent acquisition were TL2 and To the Moon, the latter being an RPG with Chrono trigger like graphics and game play, supposedly (I haven't actually started playing it yet). Tempted to get the latest worms game just to get the armageddon... -
According to the info Wikipedia has (dates 1997, so treat it as very outdated, but such information is rather difficult to come by), China's revenue when it comes to income tax is minute compared to other forms of Taxation (Adding Business tax, Enterprise income tax and individual income tax, is only about 2/3s of VAT, and within that, individual only account for less than 1/10th). China would be a very poor example when it comes to law or tax enforcement. People there can get away with making food out of leather shoes and card board and subsequently selling them, it wouldn't be hard for them to get away with gold farming income.

This is what HL1:Source should have been.

I have a very unique challenge when it comes to consoles vs. PC: I play consoles solely for the console exclusive games that I enjoy playing on it. The titles include Super Smash Bros., Castlevania, Resident Evil (specifically the Umbrella Chronicles), Final Fantasy, and the genres of side scrolling shoot-em up and beat-em ups. None of which warranted me to having to buy an entire console for, especially if I cannot obtain English language games easily. I live in Taiwan, obtaining valid English copies of any thing is harder than simply moving to another country, thanks to region locks, I much MUCH prefer reading in English than Mandarin due to me having been educated in English for the better part of my education. Both of these factors prevents me from seriously considering getting any kind of consoles, now, or any time in the near future. Besides, consoles can only be used for games, I can use PCs for other uses.

Help me find a good desktop gaming computer ~ PLEASE!
chenw replied to QueenValerie's topic in Tech and Computers
Quick question: Wouldn't a GTX 570 be better choice than 660? According to the Bench mark info I have, 570 is cheaper than 660, and ranked higher. -
Second that, I was able to open it too without the key or the keyring

It's one thing saying that they said this and they said that, but it's entirely a different thing when it comes to actual implementation, we (and possibly even they) don't know if they will stick to that plan, change the plan or even drop it altogether. But I am pretty confident that for weapons that as hard to get as Dragon Claws, they will update it to compensate for the loss of its Special attack (or in fact just let them keep it). But then again, the old Jagex did make old weapons redundant without possibly realising (Dragon Long, Dragon 2h, Dragon Spear, Dragon Mace, Dragon Battleaxe, and in some ways Dragon Scimitar also). If they were to make changes they'd say they are making, I wouldn't minding seeing different weapons with the same special attack having a slightly effect for each individual weapon, and balanced for different scenarios (I don't know, maybe an extra hit up to 50% weapon damage for Claws, 5 seconds of defence debuff for daggers). That way, they can still retain the uniqueness of each weapon without making each weapon rely solely on its special attack (well, relying less).
