the wonderful world of...anime
^I want to get to the action...It's like, I was so into Bleach at the end of the last saga, now I have the chore of watching 45 episodes to get back to the main story. If I jumped striaght from where I am to 110, would I miss a thing? Would it like, blend perfectly? Because this is sort of a pain.

A Good Christmas Gift?
Hey there Delilah isn't a very good song. If she really likes that song, or her name is Delilah it might be different, though.

Your Future Plans?
Well, I'm 17, done my first semmester of University next week. I always did well in school; my science teachers and peers always figured I would go on to be a scientist or doctor or something (I won the Biology award, and a cash reward from the local clinic at graduation do to high Bio/Chem marks). I just couldn't imagine going through that much school and trouble to be a doctor or scientist or engineer when it's not what I would enjoy in the least, I don't think. I may regret it later, but I highly doubt it. I'm studying history, because it interests me and I need a degree...I'm not particularly hardcore about history; I love the material but hate what is expected of you...Being a masters student or getting my PhD would be the most boring thing I can imagine. Essentially, due to my lazy and indifferent nature, I plan to get my Honours degree (with a business minor), then go out into the world of punchclocks and cubicles. I will hate my job, but sooner or later most people end up that way, anyways. Accepting it will just make it easier. I might also take some college courses in business/accounting or other various fields that interest me, so maybe I can eventually get an exec job at a company that is actually interesting. This is the most likely alternative. Obviously I dream of doing something more interesting, and I hope to pursue those dreams in my spare time. This is just the most likely thing.

Ugh...This filler-type arch in Bleach is really irritating. When will it end?

Handheld consoles
It's basically the same as the console race, except this one is slightly more tilted in DS favour. If you're really into Nintendo games, then it's obvious what to get. The DS also has pretty good third-party support, especially for puzzle and strategy games. On the other hand, if you want more, dare I say, serious games like shooters (disregard Metroid for a minute), war games, crime games etc. etc. etc., this is probably more likely what you want. Sports are also really good on the PSP, and the multimedia features are sweet (PSOne games please?). This is similar to the console race, except that Wii happens to have significantly less third-party support there. So to recap: Nintendo-made games and casual games: DS Generally more serious games, and sports games: PSP There's also a degree of variation, this is just general.

It's your funeral...
I want my corpse to be involved in some cruel joke that will make people laugh and think. Or the more likely alternative scar someone for life. Either's cool.

Favourit Game All Time
RPG: Planescape: Torment FPS: Unreal Tournament Platformer: Either SMB3 or SM World Sport: NHL 95 Racing: Need For Speed: High Stakes Action-Adventure: GTA: San Andreas; for multiplayer Diablo II:LOD Adventure: Indigo Prophecy Survival Horror: AVP...But it was too scary. RTS: Warcraft III: FT, followed closely by AoKII: Conquerors Overall: GTA: San Andreas. An easy choice for me.

System Shock: An Essential Gaming Experience
^ Someone made this mod called System Shock: Rebirth. It upgrades the most of the major models in SS2. I found out about this after I played it and went on a forum to complain that the character models were terrible. So I haven't actually used this, but based on screenshots I've seen it looks significantly better.

System Shock: An Essential Gaming Experience
I got something like that too...Did you try the SSP thing I posted? It says that it is supposed to work with Win98 and XP.

System Shock: An Essential Gaming Experience
Introduction The birth of the modern FPS is usually attributed to Doom, or to a lesser extent Wolfenstein 3D. Other First-Person Shooters at the time were labeled ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅDoom Clones̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Misfile
Whoever said new the new page spawns at 3:00am EST was right, and it's literally to the minute. ... ... I think I have a problem. I think I'm going into misfile withdrawal, I better take a month off and come back when there is more than one page to read at a time. This is killing me.

Old School Nickelodeon
I used to really enjoy Angry Beavers and Hey Arnold. Both, especially the latter, were great shows that if they were on now for the first time, I would watch them. Rugrats was also pretty enjoyable. There are probably other Nickelodeon shows I liked, but they were rebroadcast on YTV where I live. All the popular ones, anyway.

Guitar Hero/Rock Band Discussion thread
A finger on each color, it's not that difficult. :) I dunno, the pinky completely screws me up. I can ace anything on easy b/c I'm coordinated and all, but once you move to even the first medium, I can't even pass. It feels all awkward and I can't do it. Consider: When I'm playing a PC Game, if I lay my hands in a fairly standard configuration, my middle finger will cover 'W' (and therefore, 'S' aswell), my ring and index finger cover 'A' and 'D' respectively (and 'Q' and 'E' for peaking if applicable). However, the pinky covers neither 'Caps' or 'Tab' which would line up with the others; it most often rests on 'Shift' and if necessary 'Ctrl', because its significantly shorter. If the guitar-hero controller were set up better, especially for people with smaller, more human hands, it would work better.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Sicko - This was a very, very fine movie. Obviously it's Michael Moore, so you can expect some Michael Moore-ness. But this is a much better movie than something like Fahrenheit 911, because most of what he shows he doesn't really make much comment on, and it's mostly true. However, while this movie succeeds as a movie trying to right the American healthcare system, what propels it to excellence is the better commentary on the state of America. In particular, how Americans see the outside world, and how their ideas of liberty, "democracy", and capitalism have gone a little too far. Personally I'm against too much government intervention, but denying people one of the inalienable rights of man in favor of another less important one doesn't make sense. Health care should be one of the things a government should control; pretty much every political philosopher has said that the government should do things in the best interest of the each citizen, and for the vast majority of people that would be best. Rather, their system is working in the best interest of the capital, the people with the money have the power, not the people with the vote. As well, the view of the outside world portrayed by the politicians and the media is really not accurate. I'm not talking about all of them, but he does make a good point about how Americans seem to have a dislike of Cuba and France, for reasons that aren't especially valid, atleast anymore. And claiming Canadians are unhappy with our system is sort of funny; I agree the waits are huge, and I've personally had some experiences with incompetant medical professionals, but for the most important things it's been of utmost quality and for free. And the amount of people who die waiting for operations is minimal to non-existant, especially when compared to the amount that die in the States who never had a chance. And I'm sure the average medical professional in America isn't much better in America, and paying what could amount to tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars for similar care I can get for free just doesn't make sense. HOW COULD IT POSSIBLY COST $60 000 TO REATTACH A FINGERTIP? Obviously that's the type of situation Michael Moore loves to put in movies like this, but the point he makes is more important than the individual case. Overall, this is a very strong documentary. Extremely entertaining too ;>. I was kinda bored with 911, but this one was very painfree.

Do not click if you have problems controlling your laughter
LOL. No review this week, but he put up an account of his trip to America to visit Valve. It's a decent read if you are familiar with the Half-Life games, but I love his last comment most. Go read it all.

Help Getting M Games.
Similar thing happened to me. I played Unreal Tournament (in which you blow people to gibs repeatedly) religiously when I was 11, but when we got Diablo II they didn't let me play it...?

Help Getting M Games.
I don't think the ESRB makes up laws, I could be wrong. Personally, I think if you're 15 and mature you should be able to play a game that some people believe you need to be 17 to play. Is there any way you can get to a store w/o your parents, and just buy it and hide it? Or you could downplay the violence in it, argue that it's art, or tell them the ESRB is garbage.

Good Birthday Gifts?
What sort of price range are we looking it, because unlike some people among us, we don't all get a car for our birthday... My birthdays coming up next month (I'll be 18), and what I want is a really neat hat. You know, something that walks a fine line between "Look at me, I have a sweet hat that you never even thought to wear" and "Look at me, I'm a loser who is trying to be unique". Yea, that's the good stuff right there. It will make me feel better while I ride the bus.

Hmmmm. Can't believe I've never opened this thread before. I started reading this, about 80some pages in. It's kind of interesting :). Edit - Ok, I've read 135 now...Thanks for getting me hooked no this, I have 2 essays due this week... Edit - 250 >.< Why is this happening to me? It's like, a guilty pleasure. If I tried to get friends to read it by describing it, I woulda like be called a nancy or something, but it's actually surprisingly entertaining (and it seems to sort of cater to a male-teenage audience, lol). This is completely wrecking any chance of me finishing my 2 final papers that are due this week. #-o I think I would prefer if there were an end in sight, because this way I'll end up reading to 800something, then completely forget about it and never find out what happens. :uhh:

The Bioshock one is the best...Because the arguement is the most well-founded out of them, I think.
