  1. Or they could pay me to read some of my poetry *straps on leather mask*
  2. No, size your photos down alot!! Well, what size would you prefer them at? (give me the largest width you want for any image, and I will scale down the images appropriate to that). I'd say 2000 pixels in width MAX. Your first pic honestly stalled my laptop for a full 5 minutes, and since I only have a 1024x768 screen I couldn't even enjoy it.
  3. Views in this post range from people who believe that all laws are perfect and would never change, even hypothetically, to those who took a lesson from history (Nick's example). If the government changes a law it was because it was immoral or unjust, therefore keeping certain prisoners in jail would be unjust. Sure, they broke the law during their time, but if the government really wants to show the public that they acknowledge the unjust crime they need to release everyone that was bagged for it. In a perfect world, of course.
  4. The day my parents hack into my computer and read everything I wrote during my Internet lifetime is the day I don't come back home.

  6. dude they didn't even pat me down, which is mandatory before strip search. so your in your little strip search world and im just telling my stroy, i dont need you flaming me over something im still quite upset about. this only happend 4months ago btw You got embarassed so you sued. It's not like they tackled you to the ground and broke something, you were just embarassed, and to some people getting embarassed doesn't mean you should be getting large amounts of money. Yeah, but hey! We can make money sueing anything today! Its such a great way, why not sue over the littlest thing? I mean, lets say you take a bus, on that bus you have say... coffee. The bus has to stop suddenly, and you spill your coffee on yourself. SUE! Even though it was clearly your fault, you can still sue. So if someone forced you to strip in front of a public crowd because there was a buldge in your pants, you wouldn't mind? After undressing completely, stark naked in front of all the people, you would just tell the officer "hey no problem man, you're just doing your job. I'll even come back tomorrow and strip down naked for you because I enjoyed it so much". [wagon] like the ones that made Milk strip naked in an airport deserve to be sued. Also, if you take a cup of hot coffee on the bus, it's your own fault if you don't cover it with a lid. What are you talking about? They don't strip search people in the middle of the airport! They take them to a room somewhere. That may be true, but I can hardly see the difference of emotional abuse in either case. People still have feelings behind closed doors :?
  7. Well since the general population can fight the annual flu I don't see why it should be mandatory. The fact that it changes every season/half-year/year pretty much makes vaccination efforts futile for those truly at-risk (the poor).

  9. I only own a stack of Magic cards the height of my computer monitor, and I found that the only fun way to play was to make decks on the spot, both opponents using that same stack of cards split in two. My brother and I would do that almost each night when we were little, and got to know and memorize the cards really well. Those were the only interesting matches I'd ever played. Other then that I found myself being told what to do by nerds with the newest set of cards, no strategy or anything involved.
  10. True. But at any rate, guys, I don't see how the school should be responsible to any of this. Principals have to deal with hundreds of students, teachers dozens. Parents? One, two, sometimes three. If they can't keep track of one or two teenagers, why would anyone expect the school system to?
  11. Who is to blame in this scenario? I can say with utmost certainty that the parents would blame the school. This was necessary, regardless of whatever drug she was found to have. Schools are responsible for educating children and teenagers. They don't have to mother them.. they have mothers for that stuff. They could of course send her home if she was high off the drug, since they could argue she couldn't concentrate in class.
  12. My cousin has a black lotus :-# When he showed it to me a few years ago, it was stacked along with all his regular cars in one of those flimsy plastic sacs
  13. Irak should never have happened. The actual war that lasted maybe a month was already controversial, but the after-war was worse (which, as history proved, is FAR more important than the actual war). The reason why Stalin was so successful was because we was fighting WW3 while everyone else was still worried about WW2. With that in mind, think about how the rebels that are currently annoying the armies stationed there got all their weapons? It was because after winning the war, nobody cared about the Iraqi ammunition warehouses and the rebels raided them. If anybody had made preparations for the after-war, everybody would have been home within a year.
  14. Errr, why don't people stand up for their rights? I know she's thirteen, but by then I remember being able to stand up for myself. In fact, I remember refusing to let the principal search my school bag when he thought I had drugs in them. School authority has no business doing any sort of searches, students are responsible for letting them know.
  15. [/hide]There are people that go around with contaminated needles and just stab people in a club setting. There was a guy who did it in Minneapolis earlier this year. And there are those that lie about having an STD to you.I did say most to account for hospital misshaps as well as drive-by pokings, but as far as I'm concerned the ones who get lied to are still largely at fault, unless they are in a serious relationship with said liar. As such, I still stand by my statement of "most cases it's the person's own fault that they have it".1. Problems are inevitable 2. Problems are solvable Why go on about preventing AIDS when it obviously cannot be contained? So let those that don't care enough to self-prevent it deal with it. Why should we make their mistake our problem? I don't see how you can blame people for getting AIDS in non-developed countries. Do you honestly believe Africans could have walked over to the corner store and buy a pack of condoms? Or maybe you just don't care about them or their lifestyle. This obviously doesn't only apply to Africa, but that entire continent does have an enormous death toll from AIDS alone, especially when combined with Malaria. You can be sure that the majority of the population that has AIDS aren't little teenagers fooling around. Yes, my anti-preventing view does have a basis, which is that every attempt to prevent some sort of sickness or life threatening problem never works the way it's supposed to. We're better off just finding a cure asap. If you can demonstrate one major global problem that has been resolved just by prevention, I may consider leaving the AIDS battle at the condom/abstinence level. If they fix all sexually transmitted diseases, maybe sex won't be frowned upon so much anymore... Sorry if my post did not make sense in some bits, it's 1:28 AM & I ought to be in bed.

  17. Ever since the SARS incident I've decided not to listen to anybody but someone with a scientific background about subjects such as these. So far no scientific person I know has anything conclusive or enlightening to say on the swine flu subject, which leaves me to believe it's just a regular flu that unfortunately is very hard to fight and contain in poor and populated countries such as Mexico. I know it sounds as though I'm being a genuine [wagon] about the subject, and I blame the media for my views. I do however sympathize with everyone affected by it, since I find any sickness, no matter how deadly, quite unpleasant.
  18. Seems interesting. I'm currently too busy to read an entire first source research paper, but it's because i'm studying for a genetics exam  I'll get to it tomorrow night. As for the concept of this study.. i'm skeptical.
  19. I agree with you the Sir Isaac Newton had one of the greatest minds in history, but not due to his discovery of gravity. It was a discovery after all, since it's always been there. Someone was bound to notice it at some point. No, I believe Newton was a genius considering he invented the cat flap. It takes a man of true genius to invent a door within a door.
  20. You're a douche either which way. The fact that you backed out on your e-personality and created a thread to make sure you don't seem like a douche to all of us makes you more of a douche, since that's essentially what douches do.
  21. I do the same but in more Canadian terms: used to drink a lot of cheap Labbatt Blue & Molson Ex, now I go a bit further and buy beers like Moosehead and Guinness. Sometimes at parties i'm put off by the taste of Labbatt, but after a couple of them I stop getting picky
  22. I have so much more muscular endurance than I do strength, but nobody cares about endurance. :( However, when I do decide to bulk up, I'll have a relatively easier time at it.
  23. I'm very lucky because all my courses this semester end at odd times, so there's hardly ever anybody in the hallways when I do my class hopping. The only time I'm in a rush is when a city bus is late, and if none of my friends are on to distract me from the anxiety.
  24. Holy [cabbage] dude, have you any idea of how these things (bolded) work? Read a book or something; lose some of the ignorance that's making these forums go berserk.
