Jan. 11 Update Speculation responsible for many items crashing?
I find it less likely that everybody has suddenly realised that the market value of items aren't in line with their actual potential, and more likely that any major price change is due to a frenzy involving much jumping of the gun and trickery. Although you can't blame the rumor mills for EVERYTHING, the RSOF is pretty good at indicating times of panic. I think Jagex may have to start punishing people for rumor spreading. That'll end well.

Mint Cakes
Emergent gameplay is a fickle thing, no? Money is an arbitrary item that does not serve any actual purpose other than money. Mint cakes are about the same level of usefulness but can't be obtained except through one main source which is slow and unguaranteed. It cannot be created with magic or killing things. It becomes a protected item of sorts. Why not? People do not trust coin as much since it is so easily obtained and the value of items compared to money is much more chaotic. Mint cakes are the equivalent of gold bars in RL, but the same problem also lies in that it will only last as long as people maintain faith in it, like other money. It too will see the day when it is not a wanted item anymore. Gold in real life will eventually crash when somebody with a large supply of it will start cashing out and then everybody else will too and goodbye investment. Sounds familiar? But like a certain man on a news network that appears to be crazy but knows what he is doing, you may as well take advantage of the situation now.

Jagex portraying Runescape as ONLY a free game?
While he is making up numbers, I'd still be willing to say that most people would prefer the P2P game.

Tip.it Times 27 December 2009
What made me kind of sad was that the statement is true in the sense that I wasn't able to enjoy any of the elaborately designed scenery (the party place, Scrooge's decrepit house) because there were tons of people tromping about. I do hope they decide to relocate the ice sculptures next to, say, the Oracle's tent. That would be funny. Maybe the Blurite ore mines if they need more room. I think they need to give everything a whole lot more breathing room next time, or start instancing things. The Halloween one was fairly successful at that....the web puzzle staggered the flow quite a bit. I kind of also hope they make more crazy puzzles though. Being able to go back in the Halloween '08 quest and do a harder version of the menagerie juggling was just great. Those of us itching to get a puzzle worthy of being an accomplishment would appreciate the gesture. Not that I enjoyed the fire puzzle too much. Running back and forth to fill the bucket (I wasn't in the mood to grab more) was kind of annoying and Simon games are more memory than puzzle solving to me. :P What I didn't understand was why Frost was reluctant to try icing a fire that can be put out with water from a fountain. They could have come up with a better handwave.

New F2P Skill
It'd be pretty funny if it turns out to be something that has already been done when it comes out, though. No use trying to think of it if it hasn't happened yet.

Will Zaros Bring the Balance Back?
.... Let me clarify. While I think Zaros was the god of destruction, I don't think he was a "destructive" god in the sense that he would spread wrath and terror. That's what Zamorak is. I think that he is the force responsible for the natural end of things. To me, Guthix represents the force of creation and is his counterpart, in some respect, even though most of his work was reshaping the world into a living habitat. Zaros is called the "Empty Lord", and I interpret this to mean that he is the natural force leaning towards entropy, in which all things eventually become old and fade into oblivion. In a way, he is also about balance, in the sense that Guthix brings meaning and diversity to the world, while Zaros removes all definition and form from it, rendering everything equally inert. Neither of them can be considered "good" or "evil", but they are both necessary to give existence a purpose.

Will Zaros Bring the Balance Back?
While Zaros represents destruction (the natural opposite of creation), it is Zamorak who has corrupted this purpose with greed and wrath. Zammy kind of reminds me of Loki. Also don't confuse Zaros' purpose with the Devourer, she's more of a pain/death kind of gal. Don't think she hates us, these constant attempts to kill us are just her way of making friends. :D Zaros was holding up the other half of a world which lived in relative peace and a time where people were content to enjoy what used to be fertile territory. It seems like even the wilderness used to be a nice place even with Zaros' temples firmly planted about the whole area, but after he was banished the stupid wars with Zamorak ruined everything there. So, who really started this conflict? I'm not really clear why everybody turned against Zaros at that point in time and would like to know more. Hm. But I'm starting to think that Guthix is actually the sentient mind of Gielinor or something, and was given form by whoever those ancients were. Man, those other gods are gonna be mad when they figure out what's happening.

26-Nov-09 Thanksgiving & Community Event (UNTIL DEC 7TH)
They will probably release 1 item per event as to stretch it out for longer. There is a strong indication that there is a whole outfit and yeah they are going to do it one piece at a time. I kind of feel sorry that people won't have the whole outfit unless they start now, kind of like how I regret not picking up the scythe earlier and having a reaper hood with absolutely no purpose. The santa suit was just pandering to people with santa hats. :P

26-Nov-09 Thanksgiving & Community Event (UNTIL DEC 7TH)
I had to go to RSOF to figure out that it was actually pointing at the forums. After that, I had to go to RSOF because the hint pointed in that direction after I spent 20 minutes unscrambling that mess due to these forums being down and my refusal to refer to any other sources. While it was a clever place to hide it, the execution was a bit mishandled. Anyway, I'm enjoying the silly attack animation on this magnifying glass. I figure Sherlock Holmes would have solved things faster this way.

Now THAT'S puzzle makins. Still got through it, but I wonder if they're going to hold back as much as they did this time on the last day.... Heheheh.

Runescape Interview by MMORPG.com
CABBAGE I SAY He is almost good at conveniently leaving out things in answers. But I guess it's his job to skew his answers in favor of the company. Still, game's pretty old anyway. Moving on to greener pastures. :P It's probably going to end badly though.

26-Nov-09 Thanksgiving & Community Event (UNTIL DEC 7TH)
Ha, it'll take more than cheap tricks to fool me! It's a good thing they're keeping this in Misthalin, I can't imagine free players trying to get to Ardy. :D The convenience of being so close to a bank this time makes me happy. On the other hand, I rarely get any excuses to use the hot air balloons, so still cool.

Well, nine, if you consider that he cuts you off after the tenth one dies. I'm just amazed that removing the bones from a turkey is so easy.

Well, considering you could probably kill them barehanded or worse...

Tip.it Times 22 November 2009
Ironically, all the complaining has ever done is given us updates that were on the whole, BAD for the game. The reintroduciton of this sort-of-PK system has pretty much wrecked a lot of the economy faster than even the "dirty merchanting" has done, and the potion nerf seems sort of unwarrranted on the whole due to flawed logic. And even then it doesn't seem like they'll do it unless they were already leaning towards doing it in the first place and required a push to justify their actions. In fact, they'll go AGAINST popular opinion very often anyway. It's as if complaining has no bearing at all unless it makes them look like they're listening, but most of the time they are only pretending if it's convenient. But of course, none of you have actually read that, so BLARGH LOOK AT ME I'M SPELLING UPGRAIYEDE WRONG HAHAHA I AM FUNNY RITE HEY EVERYBODY LOOK I AM SAYING THAT JAGEX IS POOPY AND EVERYTHING THEY DO IS STUPID I DONT EVEN HAVE TO LOOK ANYMORE YELLING AT JAGEX MORE TOTALLY HELPS AND IT IS NOT LIKE THEY JUST DO WHAT THEY WANT ANYWAY

Plus apparently Saradomin has a gravy boat (AMG SAILING) that dispenses gravy for the sole purpose of combatting nigh immortal turkeys. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!

Dev Diary - Elite Tasks - 19-Nov-2009
I think it'd be funny if the Lumby one allowed you to return to tutorial island any time you felt like it. Not like a teleport, just a raft from Lumbridge. Why? Just a random idea. Other things I'd like to see from the object closest related to the reward: - Obviously epic emote. - Home teleport is instantaneous. (Charge time is still same length.) - Elite equipment should be rune grade when the whole set is worn. Seriously. (Anybody with those levels should be able to afford hundreds of rune armor sets anyway.) - Increased kingdom management rewards. - Indeterminate number of free NPC contact spells. - Ability to mess with the Grand Exchange from anywhere (or maybe just the bank), with the proviso that you can only move items between the GE and your bank. (Not sure, everybody will probably baaawwww about this.) - Once the whole set is gained, get access to exclusive hangout area located beneath the party hall in party hall world. - Seer's headband should make summoning pouch runs faster somehow. - Wait period for picture taking dropped. - Freebie style changes of every conceivable type imaginable, unlocked with corresponding regional elite grade equipment. - Instant farm harvests. No more stupid picking one at a freaking time. GAAAH. Naturally, for most of these things to be rewards, the tasks would have to be stupidly hard to get to.

Adventurer's Log - Updated 18th November
Hilariously, it still says (BETA) on the page. They'll remember to remove that in a moment.

17th November 2009 - Potions, Spells and Runes
I find the whole thing a mess. People say magic is too powerful if you do this but not worth the money if you do that. Why can't you just make up your minds or something?

RSC Trial-Period Over
Some of us enjoy the days of not clicking for hours on end and staying logged in longer than it takes to sneeze, thank you. I do see other merits in the old game though.

Most annoying Drysteaks?
Man, I hate dry steaks. Waste of good money and indigestion if you try too hard to eat it. But yeah, Treasure Trails makes me rage so hard.

If it makes you feel any better, the shots are large enough that you can yell "HADOKEN" every time you fire one off.

17th November 2009 - Potions, Spells and Runes
Well, 91 still gains more than other folk, the gap is just not as drastic. Frankly, it's kind of elitist (yeah, I'm using that word) to think it's only hard worthwhile work if you make everybody else look like noobs and tear your profit (or assist exp) from the hands of those who also work hard but started later than you. Why can't you be happy or something? Things always change. Can't stop it. I get the feeling that other things will follow suit sooner or later. Enjoy it while it lasts. In fact, don't enjoy it, because if there's nothing more for you to do, then you may as well be playing nothing. It should be the experience that is good, not just the goal. Otherwise you end up like an old retired person with nothing to do. I do agree that their logic in trying to connect these two updates wasn't thought through. Perhaps if they give a chance of more high level runes at the higher levels, then it'd make more sense. Plus it'd mollify some of these guys who thought they were going to be on top forever or did it purely for profit when other ways are easier and available. And what's up with comparing it to making things in other skills reachable earlier? That's already the case ANYWAY. Cooking burns more, woodcutting and fishing take longer, lighting fires takes longer, hell, killing things takes longer. You'd be crazy to start doing things right as you gain the minimum level to do it; gaining a few more levels before switching is much better since there's less frustration. In effect, the actual competence levels needed to do things is quite higher than the minimum. Even hunter increases your chance to fail if you're not a high enough level. Out of all this though, you guys should really be angry that this update didn't really help F2P mages at all.

Champions' Challenge - more than meets the eye?
Frankly, I wouldn't hold your breath. It's such a chance encounter and so minor an actual challenge that it will only have cosmetic rewards anyway. It was supposed to be for fun, but apparently it wasn't fun enough. People shouldn't have to feel compensated for playing. It's like asking that you get a prize for riding a rollercoaster.
