I played since 2001 so I'll tell you what happened. The community was already down the drain and all hope lost before RS associated with miniclip. Miniclip made things even worse, but they are not the root of the problem. The crappy community started with Rs2 and the new graphics attracted a lot of new people, not much we can do about that.

Account Sharing: Jagex, Players, Yes or No? Kinda Bad?
highlanders replied to Dire_Wolf's topic in General Discussion
It must very hard, apart from confessions. Maybe if an account is logged in for more daily hours than polyphasic sleep allows. Hey people, I'm feeling in a generous mood. Want to know what's the no-lifers on top highscores secret? That thing I just mentioned above :P Yogosun better watch out. -
You're basing yourself upon faulty assumptions: 1) That 3rd age platelegs were 20M. The prices for 3rd age have always been VERY hectic because they are extremely rare. I personally bought a pair for 35M at a time I unfortunately don't remember. I do remember them jumping around at 30-40M. I don't see where you got the 20M from, maybe from the beggining before the populace realized how insanely rare they were. After people realized how rare they were, they never dropped back. Obviously, since prices were hectic, in individual occurences, when the market was steep, it is possible some people sold for 20M, but that was never a general tendency. My bet is that you picked it as a random item to prove your point, but you have obviously never eyed the priced of 3rd age platelegs. As a side note, platelegs are my favorite 3rd age item, unfortunately for you, I actually know about them. 2) That they would be 20M nowadays. 20M is VERY cheap for an item like this, a complete bargain. On something like the GE, considering all the stakers, merchants, monster hunters, and skillers with their pockets filled with money, 20M is not possible. There's a thing you have to know about 3rd age. The supply is extremely limited. 20M for 3rd age platelegs would be a good price, IF it were something obtainble similarly to bandos. 40M would be a good price for something as rare as this, but the price never sticked because people are not ready to pay 40M for only the legs of an albeit attractive set. Even though 30M is right in the middle, it doesn't fit either. 3rd age always had screwed up prices, GE or not. It's a collector's market. It's very rare items, but the motivation to buy it is not that high. People would rather slaughter the nubs and the monsters with godswords. Not such a good example to use for your junk trading hate campaign  (yes people, that's all this is, mr over there doesn't actually care about the facts "Zomg I hate junk trading!" is all you have to understand here)

That's a tough question. That's not money you stumble upon everyday, so it's important to spend it on things you can get some return from in priority to things you want but can't get return from. But at the same time, don't train a skill to 99 if you are not going to use it. For instance, I could get 99 ranged for GW but am I sure I will actually use it? Nope. I would have to think about it a lot, so I have no answer

In RSC, some items appeared like they glowed, for instance rune armour. It looked pretty good.

P2P would win because F2Ps have no K.O. weapons. If they damage you, you simply eat. F2p can't hit high enough, fast enough, to K.O. someone. Members on the other hand have plenty of K.O. weapons, and K.O. is really all that matters in these kinds of things.

I would switch between capes because I'd get bored of wearing the same one all the time.

Old accounts/old merchanters probably, normal lvl 70's don't got those.
-
In barrows, is it normal that there's a black ceiling making it impossible to see in corner tunnels and inbetween doors between tunnel rooms? =/
-
Barrows Would be nice if they introduced something in the game in which you can get barrows that don't get damaged.

Crossbows + enchanted bolts, crystal bow, dark bow + dragon arrrows, chins, armardyl armour, there's already a lot of stuff.

Account Sharing: Jagex, Players, Yes or No? Kinda Bad?
highlanders replied to Dire_Wolf's topic in General Discussion
I'm against because obviously it gives a huge advantage to whoever is doing it. Lets say two buddies that live in different countries. While one sleeps, the other plays, and vice versa. But I don't think account sharing can work long-term because the two people are not going to agree on what to do with their money. But I suppose at some point, one of them gets tired of the game and the entire accounts goes to the other guy, which is unfair. About IPs - Jagex doesn't pay attention to them at all, and I know this directly from a jagex mod. -

Dragon Crossbow from Treasure Trails
highlanders replied to L34k3lit3's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
No support because: -Knowing jagex they'd make it 3rd age/animal mask hard-ish -We've got already enough items from TT -TT are pretty dull So I propose it be from a boss monster or slayer monster instead -

Holding down control is very annoying. I will support if you find a less annoying way to move east. -
Runescape Banking Improvements (Pics & Description)
highlanders replied to tyluke's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
In real life, the reasons this works and is balanced is because banks need money. This is why they give you interest when you give them money. Then they loan the money people gave then at high interests. In RS, there's none of that, the money would just come out of thin air. Filthy rich people will just get even richer by doing nothing by leaving money there for 60 days. Jagex is trying to avoid inflation, not make more of it... Sorry but no support. -

Suggestions to make RuneScape a little more realistic.

It would be amazing -
You can try but it's not going to work. As if somebody like you is ever going to be killing cows, Rcing or killing monsters for money, doubt you'd last much long. Stop asking yourself philosophical questions and just quit the game. A lot of people would be really happy being in your position. I'd buy myself the herblore skill cape I always wanted then I'd do minigames all the time without feeling any pressure to level up. It would be the equivalent of a rs retirement XD. But alas, I got hacked and I'm poor, so I have to do it all over again and so far it's not working -__- And here you are complaining about having too much dirty money. Damn, you poor poor thing -__-

Fist Of Guthix - Why Do People Whine So Much About It??
highlanders replied to Warrior_B666's topic in General Discussion
Well that's the problem, people are jerks in fog. "Rofl I beat you hahahahahah loser!!!!" "ZOMG you cheated!" NOOB! " It's kinda like playing chess online, if you win you get insulted, if you lose you get insulted. I never chess except with people I know are respectful. And that's why I don't play fog. Fog can go to hell -___- -
y does everyone have to go around callin people noobs
highlanders replied to iLootChests's topic in Rants
Meh, I think that when people do that, they're trying to get a reaction out of you, get under your skin, disturb your inner peace and all that. Kinda like when you kill monsters and somebody pops in, and starts trying to always attack the one you're trying to attack just to piss you off -__- instead of just world hopping like decent people would.
