Just do fire giants my friend.. Will it take a much longer time? Of course. But since you enjoy it, you really will not notice the time you took. I love fire giants too, both for melee and range. And there is always some new people to meet, as well as the same ones you've met on previous days if you stay in the same world. And you make money too, not as much as Avi's but you still get something in return.

Because even though you are making swamp titans and have not got the level to trade them in you will be able to trade them in eventually and as such have access to those reclaimed shards. It isn't irrelevant. You're saying you can get 399,976 shards from 100k's worth, which although true isn't the only offset. For example you could use those 100k shards and still not be able to trade the pouches in for the 75k back. So in order to carry on training you would need to spend more than the 100k on shards. For summoners on a budget this may be too much and makes the point relevant. Although I do agree with you, trading pouches is the best way to train by far. [/hide] Cat is right Paw, that is a main stay that came with the ability to trade in pouches, which is the level required to trade them in. I made bunyip pouches to level myself up a bit and use up my extra raw sharks. Now when I wanted to trade them in I couldn't because I need level 73 and got to 71. So the 25k shards I used are no longer useful. So now I have to buy even MORE shards to continue on summoning until I get that level 73 to trade in my 25k worth of shard pouches.

I believe an abyssal familiar since its 7 extra essence minus one for the sup energy pot in your invent. So 6 extra ess total. With the t bird its -1 ess in your invent for room for scrolls but no extra ess.

That is what I would do in your situation.

As long as you do not CHANGE your task with Turael your points will not reset. It is when you already HAVE a task, then go to him to get and easier task that you will lose the streak you have. You keep the points no matter what though.

yes, and SELL those cacti. Seriously, it's not because you got them yoruself, that it's suddenly good to WASTE them on yew trees. By not selling, you are losing on a lot of profit. Yes, it seems like you're not losing anything, since you get them yourself, but trust me, you are. I'm getting pretty sick of the misconceptions about this, that show up in about every thread. (example: MTK, "I get my seeds through MTK for free" NOT!!). You make a good point but 7k exp, in my eyes, is something that I would not want to waste. Especially if you can get that 7k exp once or twice a day depending on when you play. Maybe that's just me.. In a sense you are paying the price of a cactus seed instead of 33k for the payment, which is a huge decrease and well worth it. So are you losing out on a bit of money, absolutely. However, you are also spending money to gain exp, and isn't that what you are suppose to do with buyable skills?

The SS is the reason I even started training str after 99. I have probably lost 4m on it already, but I don't care lol. Last I heard though the prices were pretty stable at around 7.3m. They are relatively easy to resell and I believe from 97-99 you wouldn't take much loss at all (1m is the MAX and that's stretching it.) Of course unforeseen variables come into play so it could end up bombing 2m+, however that is HIGHLY unlikely. The obby combo, I wouldn't know how easy to buy or sell it is, it may take a day or 2 in your GE but I believe that enough people know about it that the next avid str trainer will come along and will buy it within a few days. Especially since str is a popular combat stat to train. (The necklace should sell way before the sword, since its used by obby maulers as well as str trainers) I am close to positive these won't fluctuate in price more than 300k +/-.

It is in-fact faster exp, however it is not so significantly faster that you would buy it for short term training. Same as the SS. If you are planning on training long term, then they are better since the 3-10k more exp/hour you get adds up. How many levels did you plan on training up exactly?

I am pretty sure monks are better money an hour than sharks.. would I be correct in saying so? (I think I would be) and Yews are better money per hour than magics, would I be correct in saying this as well? Therefore to get the max out of these skills wouldn't you fish monks and cut yews?

I think it is just wearing it. KB says: "You can wear these for 30 minutes before they crumble to dust." Nothing about being in combat.

SaraSword?... Obby Combo?... Those are what I would use when str training since they are both faster exp than scimmy + def and GS's. Out of the 2 though a D scimmy would be faster, even though you have to run up and down more I am pretty sure the speed at which you would get kills would outweigh the extra time you spend there with the +8 prayer bonus. As it has been said many times before I shall say it again. NEVER train with Godswords if you are looking for the fastest exp/hour, only use them for their specs then switch off to a whip or whatever else.

You do not have to talk to the guy in Edge to get a Vissage drop. As for making money try collecting snape grass or fishing monks. Something simple like that, it isn't hard to get 1m or so.

Nice goal, this was the only topic on the first page of Blogscape that caught my attention. Very out of the ordinary. I too am going for somewhat of the same thing, except I plan on NOT getting over 85 str. Just maxing everything else. I believe 132 is what I will be. Str is soo lame. (upsidedown :thumbsup: )

I despise farming.. everything about it seems wasteful!.. Then I learned how to make my runs quickly, efficiently and I fell in love with farming. Now I plan on keeping up with it and getting 99 by next year. I mean it requires a total of 30 minutes of your time a day (40 if you do trees) and you only gain from it. Where is the downside? You spend like 5-10 minutes in between slayer tasks getting a new task and re-gearing up. Why not take 5 more minutes for a quick herb run?

I always pay anyway.. with the amount of time it takes for the trees to grow I would rather not wait to find I have gained nearly zero exp. Nice spreadsheet D Jay.. How about if I only do 5 reg trees a day though, I don't have the time to come back online and do another run of willows/maples.

Have you thought about the fact that ancients can FREEZE people?.. What good is a DDS spec if you are 8 squares away from your opponent? Range is suppose to beat mage anyway so freezing them is really, kind of pointless, but still give you a chance at a quick out if you feel you will lose and don't worry yourself with the invisible code of honor. Special effects are specials too, if you want to complain about specials complain about range having too many specs against mages. Melee does have the most specials using the bar, but what good are they, again, if you are 8 squares away and not getting closer?

Aviansies until 85 or even 90 should give you enough money for chins till 99.. Either that or just get bronze knives, full void, max range bonus (as possible with void duh) and have a go at Yaks.

I was curious if anyone had an excel sheet on farming for judging how long getting 99 would take. Sounds like something people would have that's why I was wondering.
