  1. It's quite a shame for me to say this but I haven't had "fun" on Runescape since my first year playing. (where I was F2P) I have 2 friends of whom I can remember from way way back in those days, both I met in the Mining guild. (Avindiha and Chooo12) They have since then quit playing but now thinking back on it, I have no idea WHY I play this game.. yet I still come back to it.
  2. 33 essence crafted per trip (if you wield a Fire Tiara and the Dueling ring) 2500 ess / 33 ess per trip = 75.8 trips. You get 4 trips out of a dueling ring. (Tele to Duel arena, then tele to Cwars to bank) 75.8 trips / 4 trips per ring = 19 rings. In short, just buy 19 rings and you should be fine. <>
  3. You wanted the shortest time. ZMI is not worth it if you were thinking you'd make a lot of money, from 40-44 you would make like 10k profit.. Just do fire runes and move on with your life. Don't waste your time.
  4. This is only possible if a person is WILLING to pay that amount.. If there we not people WILLING and ABLE to pay 15m for black elite, then people would sell it in the GE for the price it was suppose to be sold at. Do not blame the problem of the people who get the drop and have junk to boost the price to the highest bidder... Blame the rich people who are saying they will pay 15m for it. Simple as that.
  5. Well first let me say, I agree with Danno, just because this is NOT school doesn't mean you should type like you are illiterate. I understand everyone has grammar errors all the time, but your whole post was one big jumbled mess of words. (Notice I didn't say punctuation, or lack there of) [/grammar Nazi] Anyways, this is pretty much the main reason I got defence first to 99. Actually I started out training all stats up to 80. I was even keel. Then I saw numerous people talk about how str own everything and blah blah blah. I pretty much have made it my goal to make str the last combat 99 I get, and as it is, it is still my lowest combat stat at 85. (It would of stayed 80 but I needed to train at Waterfiends for slayer and unfortunately crush works best :wall: ) The only thing lower is my summoning, which will be higher than my str in due time. First comes Att then Hp then range, mage prayer etc. I love telling people who are pures and like 50 combats under me that my str is 85, especially when theirs is like 90+. Cracks me up. .. kinda like this
  6. The fastest method is mine one drop one. -Mine one ore. -Click the next rock. -Quickly go to the ore in your inventory and right click and keep your mouse pointer on "drop". -As soon as the second ore shows up in your invent, drop the first one and repeat. This is the fastest exp/hour and also works for teaks as well if you wanted to WC (Rumored to gain over 100k exp/hour on teaks) And it ranges from 10k exp/hour up to 60k exp/hour. While I had my go at granite mining I ran into Lover Romeo, who had the decency to talk to me, rather than ignore me, and he pretty much explained all this to me when I asked him if it's true granite gives 60k exp/hour. (For those of you who do not know, Lover Romeo is ranked at number one in mining and agility, BOTH with 190m+ exp in each skill.. Just saying, I think I believe him over anyone)
  7. I, along with thousands of other people who trained up to 44 rc, used fire runes with duel rings. It's one of the more popular, decently fast and rather cheap methods of getting 44 rc.
  8. At ape atoll as in Gorillas, I would say Dharoks. If you meant zombie monkeys under the gorillas then I would say SS. Simple as that.
  9. I didn't know slayer level affected the amount of good drops you got during a task.. Just because you can get d boots, whips and dark bows at higher levels it doesn't mean you actually WILL get them as drops. So to say slayer makes you more money as you gain levels is pretty much false. It increases that chances that you COULD get a rare"ish" drop if you are lucky.. but isn't that the case with every other rare drop? For example, fire giants require NO slayer level to kill.. yet I have killed well over 30k of them, my best drop was a d spear which wasn't until I hit about the last thousand or so I killed. I have killed over 300 Mith, 2k irons, 1k steel, and 4k black dragons, all a 0 slayer requirement, and am yet to get a Vissage. Would a high slayer level give me a better chance at it? From your theory it would.. -.- ----------- To AceRipper: Since slayer is NOT in any of your goal category's whether it be long term or short term, then just do away with it. I am not 100% against slayer, I enjoy it actually, slayer is the reason I actually came back from a long break from RS, it single-handedly got me "back into the game". However it's of no use to you, you want fast levels for boss hunting which slayer will not provide. Just go with powertraining.
  10. Honestly, last time I saw one person, or even 10 people for that matter, try to price manipulate like that they got laughed at. It's called supply and demand, not "I have it you pay what I want." Think about it, if you got a Dragon Full Helm as a drop (currently 27.8m in ge) you say "OMG AWESOME... EASY 30m!$!@$!@"... not okay now how much do I WANT to sell this for? If that were the case people would sell a willow log for 2.2B.... .. I kind of went off on a tangent though, junk trading, what I would have to say to that is, all is fair in love and war. If Jagex hasn't fixed the prices on certain common junk items, well then may the player whom can and will take advantage of it until they do, prosper.
  11. Everyone else is going to tell you to use your money on skills. Just about everyone. Have you always wanted a rare but never had the money to get one? I have. So that's what I am saving up for right now a nice yellow Phat. I would say if you always wanted a santa or a mask or something like that (discontinued) then I would say go for it. Only buy discontinued items if you have no intention to sell them back, thus not caring if they dropped to half their price over the course of 6 months or whatever. If you are looking for an investment, rares are not the market as they were prior to GE and trade limits, so its really not worth it. So if that's what you were hoping for, to make a profit off of it, you can pretty much throw the idea away, as it will take you at least a year and a half to see any significant return on the rare, IF THAT. It could go down even. If a profit from investment is what you are looking for in a rare, don't buy it, go get your skills up instead. But if you have always wanted a rare and do NOT care about gain or loss then I say buy it and be proud of it, enjoy it.
  12. If you have guthans, I personally found that fire giants were my fav monster to train on. I got from 96-97 and 98-99 defence there actually. I may go back for attack too. Not sure yet though. Decent exp and decent money. Every now and again you get a clue to break the monotony of camping a monster. Also getting alchable drops + a lot of runes is a good sight as well. I wouldn't suggest slayer to you anyway my friend. Not because you didn't ask but because slayer is simply pointless (unless you want total levels) I had my eyes opened up to it recently and 30k exp/hour mixed with 80k (unless you're lucky with drops) gp/hour just doesn't sound desireable anymore. At 85 slayer I will probably never train it again. So my personal suggestion to your question is Fire Giants, WITH guthans. (Don't forget your alch runes, and keep that quiver empty for rune arrow drops) Zombie monkeys are something like 80k exp/hour+ with a good familiar and near maxed melee, someone was getting near 100k exp/hour. Not bad. The best way to get there is to tele to Ape Atoll, then run down there (as a monkey) then get into the spot and then become human again. [hide=Video Guide to Zombie Monkeys] [/hide]
  13. You could use grey chins for a slightly lower cost and the exp differential (last I heard) was not all that different either. Would 5-7m get you to 90. Probably not I would look more in the range of 8-10m. Worth it? Yes, especially if you want the fastest exp and dislike ranging. The average exp per chin was definitely 100+ but that's red chins and I do not know the exact amount, but I do know that its 100+.

Let me just say I WISH I got your loop. Fire giants 7 out of 10 tasks?!? Could it get any better than that? Hell yea 10 out of 10 times. (I am sure you are being a bit over exaggerated though) At least its not a loop of metals or skeletal wyvrerns. Your task actually provides good exp AND decent money. Not to mention other than the random hits of 11 and 10, a great AFK'able monster where you need absolutely zero food!
  15. Seems pretty logical to me; drop the new items and suffer the consequences. Be it very harsh, it still makes sense. Why would you drop it in the first place though?
  16. Don't bother with expensive armors or a DFS. Expensive armors (bandos and armadyl being the main 2) are pretty much a waste. Do I have a bandos plate, yes, but I also bought it when I had 59m not 15m, see the difference. I have 48m left over as apposed to your 4m. A DFS is really not worth the cost seeing as its only for looks or for Boss hunting and meleeing dragons. Even so with boss hunting sometimes the defence isn't needed, a Rune defender outshines a DFS anyday of the week not only for slayer but for camping at monsters as well. Though it kind of makes me a hypocrite I like the idea of getting all stats 70+ (or even 60+) then spending your remainder on maxing a skill. (The reason I say it makes me sound hypocritical is because I don't have all my skill to 60+ even though only 1 is lower than 60...) Either that or save it up for an item that you have always wanted. I personally am saving for a partyhat. Since they dropped in price so severely it has made my goal that much more realistic.
  17. Not picking on Baconxl or anything but through the first page this is really the only thing that stood out to me as I was going to post my views. Now he says there are plenty of ways to make decent money and exp which is the best route to take. However look at it like this. Powermining granite to level 99, saves you over 200+ hours of time as compared to mining coal and banking it. Now though mining coal and banking is decent exp and money if you could make 300k an hour easy (which is way more than you could make in an hour with coal, no matter what the circumstances) then why not grind away at Granite, and then use the 100+ hours you saved to make 300k an hour? That would net you moremoney and the same exp in the same amount of time. [hide=A simple example.]Hypothetically lets say you start at level 75 mining. That's 235,945 (236k for the sake of round numbers) which would net you a whopping 41,536,000 (41.5M) Unfortunately it took you 200 or so more hours than a granite powerminer. Instead you powermine granite. It takes you roughly 110 hours for 99. However now you have 200 hours more in which you would need to make 41.5m for this method to actually pay off. Well since you can make 300k an hour (doing god knows what just examplary) you spend the 200 hours doing that. Well now you have a nice 60m cash-pile instead of 41.5m. Who wants 41.5m over 60m? I am sure we can all agree that we would all want 18.5m more would we not?[/hide] Now I realize not everyone can make 300k gp an hour (myself included, on a bad day :anxious: ) In-fact you would need to make a max of 207.5k gp an hour to make this method worth actually using. If not then you mine as well mine the coal and bank it. ---- I also realize the thread creator has stated that they do not care about money or such and I am sure there are many others out there that feel this way as well. Well think about this, powermining saves you 200 hours. Now you have 200 hours to spend on another skill training that. 200 hours is enough to put a dent in more than one skill on its way to 99. Or if you are not into the 99's then to gain a mass amount of total levels and experience. ----- This is the way I look at powertraining pretty much. The "fun" factor in runescape is approaching it in an organized and efficient way. I personally like to gain the most exp/money, in the shortest amount of time, that is what makes the game fun for myself. Also factoring in "afk-able" things such as wc or fishing where I like take a longer route to train while I watch movies, do homework, play other games or browse the forums instead of powertraining it.
  18. I am pretty sure, not to change the subject, that you get more RC exp/hour than you do slayer exp/hour, which doesn't make it the "slowest exp" in the game but rather close. With the introduction of Summoning rc'ing exp has speed up quite a bit, as well as ZMI rc'ing exp/hour.
  19. I believe it is an argument that doesn't really need to be in-depth and so over articulated that you couldn't squeeze anything else out of it in a hundred years. Somethings are just plain obvious. Yes I said it gives exp and total levels, but so does every other skill in the game that you train, so for the sake of discussion getting back exp and total levels means nothing since everything gives you those 2 things in return. It's null-and-void so to speak. --- Okay Vyrewatch Burning.. that averages out to what 350k for 3 days of work getting 100 keys. You'll get a ridiculous amount of money IF you get a god page. That's like saying why train skills when I can just do level 3 clues since they give me back potentially more than I could of ever of gotten skilling. Which would be true should you be in-fact lucky enough to get 3rd age armors and god pages, however not everyone is lucky at this game of runescape.

Then again look at the MSB spec that actually got "nerfed". Max hit with a MSB and rune arrows, potted and prayed with the MSB spec is what 25 (+/- 1), according to the Tip.It calc. So 25-25... then 25-25 was 100 damage which apparently jagex saw to be unfair in combat. Hitting a 25 the first time then a 25 the second spec with d claws you have said can total up to 99, wouldn't that be the same thing?? ----- EDIT: Then again now that I think about it, the D-Bow spec is like 48-48 max with void and that's 96 total. And they haven't nerfed that yet.. I suppose you are correct in saying that it's plausible to think there would be no nerfing needed. I guess Jagex has accepted the fact that their new weapons are going to do some damage, so for those that can afford them are the ones that can reap the benefits as well. I think I argued against myself rather effectively.. #-o
  21. Do not plant anything but the following: Herbs and Marigolds. Toadflax and Marigolds are what I do now. 2-4 runs a day (about 8 minutes per run) This gains you plenty of money for the trees that you will be planting. Make sure you use super compost on both! Fruit trees. Plant pineapples plain and simple. They are the best exp/gp. Plant at all 5 places and be sure to pay the farmer 10 watermelons. Regular Trees. Plant willows, again the best gp/exp ratio. Plant at all 5 patches and be sure to pay the farmer 1 basket of apples. Do 1 tree run everyday. ----- Everything else is either a waste of time or money. You should get 70 in about 2 and a half to 3 weeks from 50 with this method. Also, you will NOT take a loss as long as you do 3+ herb runs a day. This guarantees that all your seeds (herb, marigold, and trees) are payed for as well as the farmer payments (watermelons and apple basket)
  22. Powermining Iron or Granite. For Iron just go to Al-K mines and mine one drop one. Same for granite only out in the desert. (You may have some competition here though since the price of Granite has sky-rocketed)
  23. [hide=Summondskull6] umm.. no. those are not the max hits.. D mace max hit no spec is 40 or 41 cant remember, and D mace is one strength bonus less then D claws Therefor D claws max hit is 40-41. [/hide] Summoned is correct, maxed str bonus (+96 no defender) with 99 str, aggressive att style, sup str pot, piety and no spec the max on a d mace is 40. I didn't add in the defender as the Claws are 2 handed thus stopping the use of that. The max hit of the Claws should be 40 as well, considering max str bonus with them is +97.
  24. ultimatballr replied to merlyn238's topic in Rants
Spec sounds overpowered. Anyone who gets a pair of these better put em to good use fast, I can see Jagex "nerfing" the spec like they did with the MSB.
