  1. Hiya, Earlier today I tried downloading a font from dafont.com. I clicked download, etc... then it came up with a lil' box in the corner saying 'All files have finished downloading' Can anyone tell me how to actually get it into MS Word, under 'Fonts' so I can type in that font. If it's relevant, I use Firefox, Windows xp pc and am trying to open the font in Microsoft Word. If possible could someone go through it step by step as I know pretty much nothing about computers... Thanks sooo much. Issy.
  2. No offence but that's one of the worst poems I've ever read. The structure is bad, and the short lines just don't work. The subject of the poem is strong and loving, short lines tend to be tense or comical. It just doesn't work. Secondly, the description is awful. It's interesting but extremely cliche at the same time. It's not as if you put much thought into the lines. It needs drastic improvement. I would suggest not using the lines of prayer, it sounds too much like a mix. To add to that it goes against the beliefs of Christians - Christians look up to their God. Christains do not believe they share an equal love with their God. (To my knowledge.) 'True' Christians fear and love God, as God loves Christians but knows he is superior. Christians put full trust in their God - try and make this more apparent in the poem, it doesn't get across. God is scary- he's ultimately loving, all knowing, all seeing, ultimately powerful. The sense that a supposed God is of such significance doesn't come across. I would suggest a stronger, steadier rhythm, should definitely be longer lines than can be read slowly. Try to be more original with description, the words you use aren't exactly interesting. Rhythm is very very important in poetry, and I think this creation really, really needs it. Edit - modern Christianity has no goddess.
  3. Abstract Can I have it kind of silver and blue, mainly a blue background, with a burst of white light coming from the top left corner onto my name lol, and the right bottom corner is the darkest, but not gloomy-dark. And umm, just nice shapes under the white light, I was thinking swirls... : Name: ISSY Quote/Subtext: (each first letter of each word bigger than the others please) SHOOT FOR THE MOON. 4. I don't know anything about metabolism, but I truthfully say I eat a huge amount (mainly healthy stuff though, as well as that I'm a vegetarian) and I'm pretty tall, but thin at the same time.
  5. Untrue. I don't have a problem with global warming. . I don't want to turn this into yet ANOTHER!!! religious discussion, but my belief is that we have no purpose on this planet. So, we get born, enjoy our lives to the full, then die. No problem. I don't really care. Sure, we're ruining the enviroment, but life goes on. I can't wait until humanity dies out. So true. Agreed.
  6. Ok, this is a pretty corny poem, especially at the end. But it's sad, and it's true, and really got to me. In general I don't like poems that try to prove a point against something, in this case, child abuse. But... yeah, I think this one's well written and has a good structure. My name is Chris I am three, My eyes are swollen I cannot see, I must be stupid I must be bad, What else could have made My daddy so mad? I wish I were better I wish I weren't ugly, Then maybe my mommy Would still want to hug me. I cant do a wrong I cant speak at all Or else im locked up All day long. When I'm awake I'm all alone The house is dark My folks arent home When my mommy does come home I'll try and be nice, So maybe I'll just get One whipping tonight. I just heard a car My daddy is back From Chariles bar. I hear him curse My name is called I press myself Against the wall I try to hide From his evil eyes Im so afraid now I'm starting to cry He finds me weeping Calls me ugly words, He says its my fault He suffers at work. He slaps and hits me And yells at me more, I finally get free And run to the door He's already locked it And I start to bawl, He takes me and throws me Against the hard wall I fall to the floor With my bones nearly broken, And my daddy continues With more bad words spoken, "I'm sorry!" I scream But its now much to late His face has been twisted Into a unimaginable shape The hurt and the pain Again and again Oh please God, have mercy! Oh please let it end! And he finally stops And heads for the door While I lay there motionless Sprawled on the floor. My name is Chris I am three, And tonight my daddy Murdered me And you can help. And if you read this and don't pass it on I pray for your forgivness Because you would have to be One heartless person To not be affected By this poem. So do something about it, I'm only asking for a simple thing PASS IT ON!
  7. I really, really like it. It's descriptive and very realistic. We all know how it feels as that clock ticks so slowly towards the end of the lesson you wonder if the battery have committed suicide. Improvement - maybe you could add another verse in, after the 2nd one, to emphasise how absolutely bored-to-death the narrator is.
  8. Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone can explain what Darkwebz is, I know it's some kind of group... but that's about it. If anyone can give me any info I'd be soo happy!!!!! :D  Issy.
  9. They have to shut down the elementary schools anyway. For those select few good citizens who can. . I can't even vote if I'm 18 anyway. I just think of it as another day to do homework. Anyway, Kayla, whatcha going to do for your birthday after school? She's gonna come to my house and we're going to... paint toenails and that stuff... you know :) Ha....ha...     HAPPPYPPPPPPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYY BIRHTDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!Y!!!!!!! 17 is sooo cool! My brother's nearly 17...well a year away, but meh...
  10. Before answering this question we need to differentiate between hating someone and hating who they are.
  11. London's not on there... Surprising... yeah right! So um, actually where I live in London, it's a really, really nice plce. :| Tons of facilities, schools, highest ratio of families with children under 5, tons of open space, cinemas, not muuuch litter, hardly any smoking, a bunch of cool people. What's not to like? (But yeah the quality of stuff probably does suck. But hey I'm too biased to answer that...)

    SATs

True... yeah but I mean, so much pressure!!!! Oh give us a break... and all they count for is our groups in secondary school... I hated SATs... but I'll take this opportunity to tell you all I got 5b in Science and 5a in both Maths and English... Meh, I wouldn't bother. It so much unnecessary pressure, and for what? A few marks on a piece of paper? Hah, yeah, that's really, really informative. Tell you what, I can pm you 50 really boring questions, you can send me the answers and I'll tell you everything you need to know. It's just as good and you don't need to wait 3 months for a reply. No offence, Eggs, not aiming that at you. I just don't believe in exams.
  13. Yeah I know... it was based on 'Belfast Saturday', a short story based on a bomb during the IRA... well ignoring the storyling how was the text itself.
  14. You really do try too hard, Archie... Anyway um. I don't like it. Too short lines, they're just pretty cliche phrases, nothing special.
  15. I don't care what he's done, I would never wish hanging on another living being. Whoever could cause even a murderer that much pain is a bloody hypocrite.
  16. A deeply moving and inspirational song. (My friend says - To really enjoy this, you need to be able to stomach soppy songs. But it was very good anyway.)
  17. I try to concentrate on the good and put right the bad. No, I mean it - not on a big scale, but I like put stuff right... BUT DON'T LET THE BAD STUFF GET TO YA! But meh, yeah. If you can put it right, put it right. But good stuff rules. Though I think of myself as more of a realist than an optimist...
  18. By the way, Druids is spelt with capital D, don't use " for speach, " is a quotation mark. ' is a correct speach mark. Also how about more description?
  19. Hm Um. My favourite words are- curiousity inquisitive dance love lapis lazuli I think they all sound really neat... but I don't say them every day. :
  20. WELL. I would like them to be touching but cheerful, and people celebrating my life rather than mourning over my death. Definitely 'It's a Wonderful World,' by Louis Armstrong. This song has always been special to me even though it's actually not that good. It was recently played at the funeral of quite a close friend who I admired more than anyone else I had ever known. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Olvwmbh5TL8 Probably 'Mr Tambourine Man' by Bob Dylan. I hate his voice, I hate the song, I think it's terrible. But it makes me feel good. (And I hate his damn harmonica!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRbeUnn-AUA 'There's Something In The Air' originally by Thunderclap Newman, resung here by Hayley Sanderson... ahhh beautiful. 8-) The words are also very moving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opO4fFcxazA And 'This is The Way to Amarillo'. This song is sooo special to me! Me and my class sang it on the last day of school when we conga'ed down the road. Ha, I'll always remember it.... our happy, innocent voices raised in raucous chorus as we waltzed together... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B69DynFnzaU Hear how the crowd pick up the beat and start clapping... so cool. But then again is Jonathon Ross... :3> . Lol, anyway, all those songs mean alot to me, though they're probably all pretty cliched choices! (And a bright, warm saxophone piece as I get laid to rest : )
  21. That last one was stolen from my brother's sig... that was Tokytoky3333, if anyone remembers him lol. HA...HA... from a friend's thingy on MSN. HAHA. That was from a friend on MSN again. The same friend was slightly depressed when he had this as his public text line thingy.
  22. sweet potato pie pwns all! \ Except mushroom and leek. But that's got potatoes in it, so hopefully we can still be friends? Lol. But potato pie... :3>
