Candymann16
i think people like the skill why not train it? most skills are pointless after about level 85-90 but peopl go to 99 because they like the skill

riakk
people tell me fishing is pointless because it is so boring... well: Quothe my Blog: "Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work." ~Aristotle Even on my death bed, I'll bare-hand that bloody shark. BloodfleshX
How is the skill being pointless and respecting the cape related? Shouldn't it be respected because they persevered through all the pointless levels?
meili
Personally I only saw the point of firemaking when it was a completely useless skill. Way back in Rs1 all you could light were normal logs so the skill was basically unbuyable. The players who trained it, only did it for fun or to be different which IMHo made it more cool. Now its pretty much buyable which destroys the coolness factor AND it is still useless. However if someone levels it because he enjoys firemaking, then more power to him. What's lame is buying a ton of expensive logs just to easily get a skill cape. Genome
the emote is so cool, you create a fireball in your hand. apart from that, fm is pointless
JimmyMcNabb
You're all missing the point of the game itself... If you put your ideas into the thoughts of the game... You'll see the whole game is pointless

headshot007111
Theres a few skills that are pointless.... hunting, agility, thieiving, and firemaking. But theye mostly for skill total. ~Guide to Solo'ing the KBD~ 99 Cooking | 99 Firemaking | 99 Attack | 99 defense | 99 Hitpoints
fr0z3n_1n_h3ll
it's better than a cooking or fletching cape and looks pretty cool i'll admit, it deserves respect imo.
baron8000
Theres a few skills that are pointless.... hunting, agility, thieiving, and firemaking. But theye mostly for skill total. Can't wait for Dalcyte or Wakka to read that lol The stats of a Skill Cape are good arent they? Firemaking being a cheaper/faster skill to get to 99 might make it the first choice for those wanting those stats.
Potter_Pkr
One of the reasons why 99 firemaking is becoming more popular is because a lot of people already have 99 cooking/fletching. I like the look of the cape and I still think it deserves respect. Though the main irritant is that on RS there are so many people going for this goal now. The look of the cape alone makes people want the 99, Firemaking is one of them. Hunting = Chinchompa power! Agility = Shortcuts, and trust me, these save a lot of time when you get slayer tasks in Taverly dungeon or wherever. Thieving = Decent enough money at thieving heros, or so I hear. Firemaking = Well, yeah. Pointless.
riakk
any 99 skill, reguardless of staus in easyness, is still a 99, all deserve respect. thats my fianal word on that Even on my death bed, I'll bare-hand that bloody shark.
Mazurizi
Speaking as the first 99 Firemaker who has posted (to my knowledge) I got 99 Firemaking before the capes.. How many people have 99 Firemaking, not many, it's a unqiue 99. You may say it's a "waste of time" but how is it. You get a 99 skill out of it. And you can go shade burning if you really want to make a profit out of it. It's purely a skiller skill in my opinion. It's people like you who need to start having respect for other people stats. It took me a long time to get 99 Firemaking, and by gosh it was worth every single second.

d3nic
Obviously now people are just getting 99 firemaking just for the skill capes now. It's not like it's a hard skill to do, just very tedious. I think it deserves respect for how long it takes. - Denic.

blouinator
99 firemaking does deserve respect i may be a pointless skill but it isnt easy to get it takes work and effort and to me firemakers got my respect(exspecially how boring the skill is)
Dragonwizerd
is is the most pointless skill, it's the only one where you can't make a proffit from it (unless you go do the splitbark one i think) but it's still a fun skill all the same... i mean, i love cape and emote  Yayyyyyy... Stilev
well im currently going for 99 fm myself, i guess i did it the uncool way kuz i just bought like 30k yews and burn some every now and then. i see no point in cutting my own kuz i already got 99woodcutting. and getting 30k didn't really cost alot, but w\e. The skill i think is pretty pointless, i probaly wouldn't even be doing it if i wasn't a skiller, so logically i thought i might as well get it done the fastest way possible. i dont really find it all that respectable of a skill so i doubt i would wear the cape, but its not like i wear any of my capes (Quest to). chessmastuh
Having an interesting cape doesn't justify FM in the least for me. For starters, it's utterly useless; besides for usage in two or three quests, and pyre burning, the skill has virtually no use. Secondly, it's soul-crushingly boring. I play this game to have fun and enjoy myself, not to mindlessly click away hours and hours of my life to get a pixellated cape that no one else really cares about. As a small last point, it consumes money without any payback of any sort. I respect that people enjoy it, though, and understand that I don't enjoy the same things everyone else does. If you like burning logs, more power to you; I personally see no use in it. Stunning signature created by the one and only My Boggy. Jabuli
99 firemaking was my first 99 skill and just the feeling of getting first 99 was good enought reason to waste hours of my life :| . Also if jagex releases some major firemaking updates ( still waiting :-w ) then we'll probaly get somekind of profit.
