I'm sure that all RuneScapers have had this happen. You're doing something on RS, when your mom calls you downstairs to help her with some trivial things.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In bad times, you might be in a situation that requires constant input, such as PKing or in a middle of a trade. And some RuneScapers' parents (or siblings) are probably inpatient - if you wait a few extra seconds, they'll get upset.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What do you do?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Personally, the main thing is that it depends on how urgent it is. If my mother just wants to show me something, I'll tell her to wait a minute or two. If it's something very urgent, such as a bad injury, then I'd try to log out and hope for the best. After all, real-life matters are more important than in-game items.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

However, suppose that you're in one of the more urgent situations. What would you do in these scenarios?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. You're fighting Jad

 

 

 

2. You're fighting a boss monster (KBD, KQ, etc)

 

 

 

3. You're in the middle of a clan war

 

 

 

4. You're casually training at dragons

 

 

 

5. Trust trade - someone gave you raw materials to turn into the finished product

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well, I've never done 1, 2, or 3, but here's what I'd do:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Try to log out (if I do, will I have to start over?). If that's the case, I'll put on mage protect and hope for the best, LOL.

 

 

 

2. For Chaos Elemental - run to a safe place and log out. For other monsters, if I'm soloing, I'd teleport out. If I brought a partner, I wouldn't want to "betray" him by letting him die. I'd tell him that I have an urgent issue in RL and tell him to teleport as well. At least he won't think I betrayed him if he died.

 

 

 

3. Well, I'd try to run away from the action and log out, and teleport if available and not TB'd.

 

 

 

4. Find a safe spot and log out, or just teleport out (always a good idea to bring one-click teleports wherever you go.)

 

 

 

5. Give all items (finished and unfinished) back to the person to avoid being reported as a scammer, and tell the person that I'll be right back.

Another scenario that annoys me is when I'm in the last 5 mins of CW, and my Dad calls me for tea/supper or whatever you want to call it, so I can't raelly keep him waiting. It really gets on my wick when it's a really close game, and you know that your absence would mean the near indefinate demolishing of your time!

Worst part was once I was about to buy Full Rune (g) for 700k, which is like a 600k profit, until I had to come down to dinner. -.-

Yes, it is, but if something really serious happened in RL (someone felt from a chair, broke the window, etc) I would let my acc logged on and run downstairs (and hope for the best).

If I'm fishing or woodcutting, I just leave my acc logged in and hope I don't get a random :pray: Usually I get back in time, but once I lost my rune axe.

 

 

 

It always seems that my dad calls me exactly at the worst moment; once I was 2k experience away from a smithing level, I had everything banked and ready to go, but I had to leave to make it to the airport to be like 5 hours early for the flight to go on vacation! (and no internet at the hotel! :wall: )

My girlfriend, who to be honest is not the most mildly tempered of people, wanted me to go try on the shirt she got me for Christmas while I was fighting Elvarg for the Dragon Slayer quest. :ohnoes: :uhh: :wall:

I was in the middle of killing Kq with a team and my phone rings, and i'm the only one home so ya...

Well, I remember playing and attempting Black Knights Fortress, many a moon ago. All of a sudden, Carlos (my cat) jumps on my back (Ow?) causing me to jump up, knock the desk, send it tilting forward, knocking all of the PC to the ground and spilling my hot beverage all of me.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My advice? Laugh. It was a comical moment. I'm not saying all interuptions are to be laughed at, but it's important to remember RS for what it is: a game. If something's a pressing issue, log out.

Had to use the bathroom on the 53rd wave. Hehe. I had to wait 'til I had one 180, safepotted it. Ran back quickly, because I own like that. O:)

I've learned to log my account out since then, or, if it's unimportant, just ignore the distraction.

I hate it when these situations really come up, luckily the worst was when i was killing metal dragons so i quickly ran out to a safe spot and logged out.

It have happened me alot of times that when I'm doing a really important trade with some other player, my mother calls: "It's food time", "Please help me here" or something like that. Just one fact; My mother doesn't got so much patience.

 

 

 

So, many times I have lost alot of RS money in good trades just because of this. I really hate it!

We should start a revolution. Every RS player in the world must destroy their own parents, or else... I don't know
