I wonder if he someone didn't do the dupe at all and told them about it, maybe they'd get an actual free members for life.

 

 

 

I'm not 100% sure, but I remember people who knew know telling them, but they in fact didn't and still they got banned.

 

 

 

If they knew how to though, then they COULD still do it, so Jagex had to take extreme measures.

Well, to put it this way, if you knew how to do it, you would have done it. Why? It was not a glitch in game, you had to manually manipulate messages sent to the server in a trade screen in a way only a hacker with the proper tools could do. (Or an sophisticated auto program known as ********)

 

 

 

Before jagex fixed the loophole only a handful of people knew how it works, and they all had the same infamous auto/hacker program ********, and they had all used it to manipulate tons of stuff in game already. The banker npc killing, wilderness cathcing abuse. (making it impossible to run from a fight,).

 

 

 

So why the hell give this guy lifetime membership. He had already broken many of the game rules already.

I was there for the dupe, some guy poped 3 crackers on me at Varrock bank but he got the hat every time :cry: . I also tried looting some in varrock or watever but i couldn't click fast enough.

I remember coming home from school and my friend told me what happened I tried to buy one but I didn't manage to get one :( ,always wounder what the reward was but its obvious that if you tell your going to get banned.

My friend was in that dupe scandal he walked into it didn't get banned because he knew they were going to get banned

They offered lifetime membership. And when someone stepped forward they banned him, all of his accounts, an all of the people involved in the dupe.

yeah well i was around when the dupe happened to, and i bought tons of phats. but after hearing allllllllll the diffrent storys, explanations, and rumors that im a firm believe'er that jagex was in total control of the duping to lower the "desire" from other players for a party hat.

I dont think you would say that if you had got banned for trying to help out :roll: I mean it was pretty common knowledge... thats why it had such a big effect

lets just say, varrock square was totally invaded by party hat buyers/sellers, in more then just 1 server. and it seemed like everyone there had a rare. i used to have a few pics of some girl trading me a green for 2m, then showing me a full inv. of party hats and random crackers. but since rcs ive got a new comp :roll:

 

 

 

thats what made the purple hat what it is today, it used to be the rarest hat then on the day of the dupe so many were created, after the dust settled everyone relized there were alot less blues then purples now. and wasnt purple pink back in rsc???

This is one of the reasons that Jagex is a bad game, they made a promise of giving lifetime membership, but then only bans him(and who said they had abused it? he could have known but not wanting to use it)

 

 

 

This is one of the reasons that some other games*cough*AQ*cough* is more nicer to their players, and Jagex almost never uses suggestions from forums.

suppose to be a free yr membership. First person to send the email was obviously banned, cause if they knew how to do it, they were a suspect.
