May 12, 200719 yr Hello, Some of you 'older' ones amoung us might still remember: Highscores used to be top 500,000 only. Because of the increasing number of players, Jagex made it top 1,000,000. And recently: 1 million members in Runescape. I suppose we can all agree that it's easier for Members to increase their Total Level faster then Non-Members. For now, the minimum is already 800 Total Levels, which is quite a lot. And with the increasing number of Members, it'll become even harder for Non-Members to keep in the Highscores, and eventually... Must of them will dissapear, like it or not! Now, the highest Non-Member is ranked a bit over 100,000. Although, when you would look him up (not naming any names), you'll see the enourmous amount of Skill Experience. But that doesn't really count for your Total level, while as a member, with the same Total Experience, you could almost be maxed out. This means you would be ranked 50+, while now, only a bit over 100,000. So, like it or not, Members are taking over the Highscores. This speaks for the Total Levels ofcourse. For most other levels, Non-Members have the same change to get into the highscores as Members, although it can take some longer (Sharks vs. Lobsters for example). So, the main problem: Will the Highscores get Members-Only if they don't get Top 2,000,000 or something? I'm still used to the Top-500,000 Rank tbh. I like to keep my stats Top-500,000. Oppinions? May 12, 200719 yr Its freaking me out :ohnoes: All my stats are still in there so I'm happy. I think that with all these members it might lead to top 1,500,500 or even a totally seperate F2P and P2P highscores ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
May 12, 200719 yr i'm a member with all my levels ranked in the high-scores. however, i can see what you mean. if i were F2P, i would be worried. i don't think that makes any sense #-o :wall:
May 12, 200719 yr they should make it top 2,000,000 because of lots of member accounts, but I still prefer top 500,000 because all my skills (except construction and farming) are ranked below 500,000 :P . But that is selfish from me so 2,000,000 will do. I think that they update it soon? Atleast 1,500,000 first?
May 12, 200719 yr Maybe they should make a separate F2P Highscore and P2P Highscore. :-k Or maybe make the highscores up to 2M. : ~Angat14~
May 12, 200719 yr Yes, I totally agree with you. All F2P:ers has it much harder to enter the overall highscores. This is mainly because the members has alot more of skills to train than F2P, but also they can in some skills also get Xp much faster and in many more diffrent ways than ous who're F2P. A possible solution to this could be splittling the highscores in 2 parts; One F2P part and one P2P part. I like that idea very much :). It would make ous F2P:ers see which of ous are the best, and that would give those who're best of ous much more honour. And that they deserve, for skilling is most often much harder in F2P than in P2P. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
May 12, 200719 yr wasn't it basically aimed at members from the amount of skills members have that non-members don't? Proud Retired Council of The GladiatiorzClick here for our website - 110+ F2P Combat Requirements
May 12, 200719 yr I'm F2P, and the skills that I work on are in the high-scores quite easily. Even if they get overtaken by Members, does it matter? They're just hi-scores :)
May 12, 200719 yr im still at 335k... only dropped 200k places in 2 years... ^^ click my sig for my lesser ranging guide ^^jwrm22: 4816th > 99 cooking 100% f2p !1172 total! + 140mil in items.i dont play anymore... i think rs is ruined
May 12, 200719 yr They need a new ranking to ensure the fairness for high lvl f2ps, which they can rank you according to total exp. Then some f2pers would rise in rank and not be disadvantaged over the fact they have lesser skills to train. Anyway, i think the current total amount of candidates for highscores is simply too high. It's meant to be a "highscore" anyway, which means you have excellent lvls in the skill to be qualified. The current lvls for highscore qualification seem too low for me. :^o Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
May 12, 200719 yr It seems obvious that F2P'ers would dissapear from the highscores. Also if Jagex keeps adding new skills (allthough that won't be very frequently) the process would be speeded up. I'd love to see a F2P highscore, it'd be great to see what F2P'ers can do with their limited possibilities to train their skills. What's wrong with naming names in this occassion btw? It's not negative to name the name of the best F2P'er right? I think that deserves some credit :) Twitter ||| Google+ ||| Facebook ||| LinkedIn ||| My very interesting weblog about science
May 12, 200719 yr Why don't they just make two seperate highscores? One for F2P and one for P2P, that would keep both sides happy.
May 12, 200719 yr I don't see jagex making it up to 2 million. if you think aboiut it - the more members on scores, the less f2p, so f2p get members to be ranked, and jagex gets more moneys. Doomy edit: I like sheep
May 12, 200719 yr Eum my guess will be that Jagex seperates them and that there will be f2p highscores and p2p. Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.
May 12, 200719 yr Me:Total lvl of 805 or so Status:F2P Lvls needed every week to stay on highscores: about 5 Number of skills available:14 Total total lvl possible for F2P:1485 Rank of Mendark 9: 96,537 at time of posting Total lvl of Mendark 9:1471 I struggle to get these total levels to stay on the highscores. If I were a member, I could just do Druid's Ritual and jump a few thousand places. This just shows how Members are crowding the F2P players. *Runs off to create group of F2P extremists*
May 12, 200719 yr When I didn't have all my stats in the hi scores it would motivate me to train hard and get into them. This can be motivation for f2pers ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
May 12, 200719 yr Seperate highscores wouldn't work. what about the players that were members before and became f2p, or plyers that switch between mems and f2p?

May 12, 200719 yr highscores should be able to split into 3 like it is now f2p pure only and p2p (btw Once a member, always a member) this is achtually very easy for jagex to make rsname: lord rex.december 2011: ranked 107th best f2p playermarch 2012 became member.

And its fine the way it is to me tbh. f2p will never pass me up and to what I see, it's just a bunch of non-members complaining how they can't make it onto the highscores (which don't really matter unless your on the first page). May 12, 200719 yr I do find it a bit unfair that members can just "cheat" their way to the top by paying $5 a month. This contradicts Jagex's own rule 12, "We feel your status in real-life shouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t affect your ability to be successful in the game." An interesting idea for a fan project would be to make an external hiscore system with script that strips members stats from hiscores. This, however, would break the current version of rule 7. :( Another interesting idea would be to sort by total EXP. I don't know why Jagex haven't thought of this yet.
