Not top mention a MAHOOSIVE crush attack bonus (with my equipment, its dialed up to +114). In equal level fights, my equipment beats a Veracs set in 1 vs 1 about 60% of the time. Aneron Posted May 20, 2007 Share Posted May 20, 2007 Ok guys, this form is for the discussion of the Dragon weapons. I presonally think that the Dragon Battle Axe is the best of the kind. I recently purchased the Scimmy and I have been quite dissappointed with its overall performance and especially with its special attack. I have tried most of the Dragon weapons excpept for the Hally and the 2h and the spear. Post here with your thoughts. :o The scimitar is the best overall weapon in the game after the whip. It may not hit as hard as a d b ax, but it's a LOT faster, resulting in more damage per minute anyway. Let me remind you that even the abyssal whip has a rather trashy special, and as a result, many people train with another weapon in their inventory to use the special with. Popular choices are excalibur (when facing high level enemies, the def boosting spec is good), d b ax (when facing weak enemies where you hit often and don't get hit often even after the reduced attack and defence), and the dds (useful for creatures such as trolls, where you can kill the weak ones until you get a full spec bar, then go put on melee prayer and unload some dds specs on a troll general). By the way, I don't like the dragon long for the same reason as the d b ax - although it's stats are better, this is more than made up for by the scimitar's speed. (this is especially true in the case of the d long: a few extra points in exchange for an entire speed category) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

aznmidget448 Posted May 20, 2007 Share Posted May 20, 2007 I love the dds. It's such a sweet weapon and can be used in combination with pretty much anything. The only reason I would use the scimmy is either in the wildy (where I never go) or in c wars. The spec is really helpful in c wars. Otherwise, I find it useless because I prefer the abby whip, but for those who can't afford the whip, scimmy or long is probably their best choice of weaponry. Even though many say the special attack of the d hatchet is pointless, it has a use which is very relevent to the skill it is use for. Tree Spirits. It stuns the opponent, and lowers it's defence (in order to finish it off) and magic (so it can no longer attack effectively). The special is engineered for that monster. Back in classic, all weapons had the same speed, so obviously people preferred the stronger weapons. The baxe was the strongest, followed by the long, which had better accuracy but less power. Back in classic, all weapons had the same speed, so obviously people preferred the stronger weapons. The baxe was the strongest, followed by the long, which had better accuracy but less power. However, we live in the present, so Id say my favorite dragon weapon is the dagger, mainly because I always have one on me. they're not exactly ruined... the loss of speed makes up for the excessive strength and accuracy. Not if you're fighting a mage that has a mage level just high enough to cast whatever spell(s) he/she's using :-w As for all the other dragon weapons, they all serve their own purpose(s). Personally, I (and most others) consider the d scimmy the best overall dragon weapon for training. What I usually do when training is bring a d scimmy as my primary and also a dds for its specs (because I do agree that the d scimmy special is garbage) ^Thanks Lil_Atza!I love the smell of napalm in the morning. ... mbrun Posted May 21, 2007 Share Posted May 21, 2007 I own a Dragon Scimitar, Halbard, Dagger, Battleaxe, Mace and Abyssal Whip. I used D long for the longest time before I got the whip. Gives u a nice big hit sometimes. DDS is a must have. I use it for doin clues and PC/Slayer. Since the whip special is poo poo. The dbaxe is awesome strength pumper special that I use followed by the whip/stat restore potion. The hally is one of my favorite weapons. Use it all the time on blue dragons, trolls, hellhounds and other critters u can safe spot. Barrows Drops: Guthan's platelegs and War Spear, Dharok's plate body and Great Axe, Verac's Flail, Verac's Helm x 2, Ahrim's top, Dharok's plate legs Dragon Drops: Medium Helm x 4, Shield Left Half, plate legs x 2, skirt x 2.
