I was wondering, man it must take alot of work to collect your own raw materials for a 99

Have you collected or know someone who collected their own raw materials for a 99 or high stat?

Imagine cutting 100k Yews or catching 100k Raw lobs :-w

Thank god for bots (well sometimes :ohnoes: )

I know someone who has 7 99s and has collected (probably) every single raw material himself. It takes alot of dedication. Get 99 WC then 99 fletch. Get 99 Fishing then 99 cooking. Some skills work like that so you have to get the raw materials, and then you have something you can do with those materials.

I collect everything by myself. I get laws from drops, pure essence from mines/drop, etc.

I collect some stuff for myself :P I'm not going for any 99's right now, so I don't have to worry about collecting that :D

However, if I need a few thousand iron knives for a slayer task? I will mine the iron, smelt and smith the knives. That kinda stuff :)

I guess the only materials I collect myself now tend to be either all the runes I need (just got 70 Runecrafting :D ) or Yew logs.

Although often when I'm short of cash I'll mine my own Pure Essence from Yanille using all the pouches I can, takes no time to mine 1k Essence.

I hate non-combat so there is no way ill waste a month cutting yews for 99 fletch or something near that. I just put 30+ mill aside when I want to train a skill. Im a combat nub... and I'm proud of it:

CampbellMC is 76.6% combat based, with 91,885,322 combat based exp, and 119,955,193 total exp.

well Ive caught 25k sharks, and around 90k lobs (I'm 99 fishing now), but only the the sharks and about 20k of the lobs went towards cooking, I bought the previous of my cooking lvl before my fishing exceeded lvl 70.

I also have 99 wc and fletch, I chopped all of my fletching things.

I collect my own fungi for herblore about super energies and rc my own runes for various purposes

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

As much as i can. But when i'm doign something like crafting, i really don't want to have to go out and kill thousands of green dragons. So i buy them, but make my own nats (and fire battlestaff  )

Zaspiel, who wrote a mining/smithing/crafting guide on the official forums, has 99 mining, 99 smithing, and 90 crafting, all from mining gold, smelting it, and turning it into amulets and other assorted jewelry. That's the only one that I really know of.

As for myself, I'm mostly self-sufficient, though I will buy things when I need them.

I cut all yews for 99 woodcut, then fletched them for 99 fletching. I crafted most of my nats for 99 magic (was 91 mage when RS2 came out). Got 85 crafting from bowstrings for 99 fletching, and picked all the flax too.

I'd like to see someone collecting herbs, vials and seconds for 99 herblore 8-) .

I'd like to know anyone who's even got 99 Herblore lol. Tripsis is the only person I know who's even near.

God no! That would take me ages wiht my short attention span. The only time I was self sufficient was from 40-73 Fishing at Barb, and I cooked everything (40-80 (roughly)).

Mostly.

I do use MTK for tree seeds, and the flax I get goes into fletching. Maples for profit or FM. I got 5k coal lying aroung from a previous MTK session.

But I do most things myself. Never bought a single yew from fellow players, never bought gold/iron ores and smelt/smith steel/gold/jewelry.

Get my own green/blue d-hide, and battle staves are a nice source of income as well as I make them from scratch. Mined a couple of K essence, make all cosmics and natures I need for training myself. Now, I sometimes buy essence because it is easier/quicker, but mining with pouches in Yanille is still pretty fast.
