IGoddessI
This young girl had an accident that has changed her way of life in a significant way and you're laughing about it? Please line up in height and size so I can slap the lot of you across the cheek for wearing your heart on your sleeve. Obviously this young man/woman who has written this post felt emotional and upset for this other human being who has endured a horrible accident. The least you could do is support him. I'm ashamed of the lot of you. One person says it's funny and the lot of you jump like a pile of sheep and continue the thread that way. If I were any of you, I would walk with my head hung low in shame for a quiet minute. A young girl right now has injuries from a horrible accident and it's not funny in the slightest. I repeat, I'm ashamed of you all. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. Stilev
dislocated her intestines. i dont even thats possible, seriously. i can last i checked you dilocate bones, not major internal organs!? i mean that doesn't even make sense, the intestines are pretty damn big, and they are made to move some what, to dislocate them would mean that her ribs might have broken, or something a hell of alot more serious. according to the article her intestines were sucked out, the only way this could be done that i know of, is that got sucked out her mouth, or rear end, or she had a large enough GASH accros her lower chest, which is a hell alot more serious, she be wadding in a pool of her own blood, not worrying about her intestines

The least you could do is support him. I'm ashamed of the lot of you. One person says it's funny and the lot of you jump like a pile of sheep and continue the thread that way. I don't think he is that upset over this. His original post didn't really show too much emotion on his part. I think that you are assuming he's upset simply because he created this topic, which may or may not be the case. I've been off these forums for a bit, but I started reading them again a couple days ago because I was bored, and I already feel like I can make this statement. The reason everyone is "jumping on him like a pile of sheep," is because this kid makes the most ridiculous posts I have seen on this forum, and I have seen a lot of posts. Anyways when I read through one of the articles, I got to this paragraph: When the suction - at least 300 pounds per square inch - grabs hold of hair and body parts, it can trap swimmers underwater, causing them to drown even if others are trying to pull them away. Or, as was the case in this wading pool incident, an open drain can suction organs out of the body. I couldn't really believe this before I read this news story, now I'm really unsure whether this is real or not. Honestly, I laughed a little after I read that paragraph. I guess not all pools are the same, but I have never been in a pool that has a drain near that strength, especially one that can suction organs out of the body. The writing style in that paragraph (as well as a few other parts of the article), and some of these "facts" they state, make it all seem somewhat absurd to me. Mc_comix_yo
A quick google search found this article on the story.. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19619471 Apparently, she was sitting on the drain and the suction of it tore her rectum and pulled out her small intestines. Tigra00
I'm sorry if this is true but I just laughed "my-arse-off". The title, combined with what you wrote is hilarious... Sucked in a drain? Impossible. Considering she would have been around the age of 8 at the youngest to be swimming un aided and unwatched making her around 4ft?... No way you can get stuck in a drain... And what the hell is the a huge uncovered drain doing in a swimming pool? Sorry, this story is just plain wrong and the only "dangers" in a swimming pool is the shallow end after diving in and smacking your head :wall: . ~Bbalking Some people are so clueless. This happens A LOT. Little kids get stuck in the drains and the drain then creats huge amounts of suction and USUALLY, the kid dies because the suction is so great that no on can remove them. Some senator's daughter (think it was a Senator) was killed this way...Her dad tried to physically pull her off the drain and the suction was so great that he couldn't budge her. He had to watch his daughter die while trying to pull her off of it. She drowned, of course. They even make devices to put over the drains to stop this from happening...But not all pools have them. It should also be noted that the little girl I wrote about above drowned not in a swimming pool, but in a jacuzi, far smaller than a pool you claim was too small to have any effect or whatever you're babbling about. Edit: Oh, and the drain isn't uncovered. They have little holes in them, that's all. Trust me, if you really want to find out, go to a pool and get stuck on one and try to free yourself. Tigra00
Wow. This is actually true?! Now I feel terrible. Do you actually feel terrible? I would....after ripping a guy on saying his story was faked... It is still just media fear-mongering. Probably is considered a seasonal story also. /Just read the "It's Not News, It's FARK: How Mass Media Tries to Pass off Crap as News" book. It's not fear-mongering. It happens ALL THE TIME. And it isn't seasonal...CNN did a special on it in the dead of winter when it happened to that little girl in a jacuzi. You guys all need to educate yourselves. At least go check to see if it's BS before you spit on the kids it has happened to. ____
People, and quite often young girls, drown in pools and spas because their hair is caught in pumps and such. Hands get caught, whatever. It's not [cabbage] - it happens. As for injuries of this extent... I could believe that to a point.

I think that you are assuming he's upset simply because he created this topic, which may or may not be the case. When people post a topic it is provoked by an emotion, a thought/opinion or a feeling. They are all contributions of emotion. Just like yours has, you had to think about how my post made you feel before you replied. If you didn't feel anything, you wouldn't have replied, Hmm? However, thank you for pointing my post out to me because 'and upset' should be 'or upset.' In which your statement towards me is partially correct. AlexTeHowneR
Something like that happened in Cancun or something when a little boy got stuck onto one of those drains. His father tried to pull him off, but the pressure was too great and the boy drowned. (They said something like 600 lbs of pressure was pulling him down. Lionheart_0
I think the word dislocating should not of been used. Obviously this is real and did happen so no one should laugh. The thing is though, parts of her intestines where actually ripped out. Its possible to live through this.... but sh will have a very traumatic life... Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! assassin_696
I don't think people were laughing at the girl, they were just pointing out that tragic but bizarre accidents happen everyday but that's no reason not to go outside. Yeah, it's tragic, but people die/get injured in bizarre ways daily but that's no reason to suddenly spread panic. Sure, raise awareness that some drains in swimming pools are powerful (I really doubt they're that powerful) but that shouldn't stop you swimming. Ambassadar
When I was a little kid we lived two houses from the local community pool. We were there one day and had just gotten out of the kiddie pool and this exact same thing happened to a little girl. I was only about 3 at the time so I don't really remember it but my mom said she had been sitting on the drain in the middle of the baby pool and it created a suction on her and ripped her insides out. Horrible horrible stuff...
