Now the lastest and greatest update of combat level boats at Pest Control has caused uproar. Protests, riots and talks of quitting has spread accross the forums. Aswell as delight, ecstatic compliments and joys that we (100+) don't have to switch world every 30mins in order to play some decent Pest Control due to an invansion of green leveled monsters!

 

 

 

There's always been talk of how Jagex hates pures and that they think it's a loophole in the system of fairplay. People who have regular combat stats can't pk at all due to some level 80 with 99 strength/attack/mage. These pures mainly trained using Pest Control. Neglecting the slayer skill which was a way of exciting the task of training combat, again something that Jagex doesn't like when something they intended to be done a certain way is neglected. Now that they've greatly degraded the ease of Pest Controlling you way to a great advantage in Pking, does this show how much they don't like "Pures"?

 

 

 

We will see lower levels with really high slayer as a consequence to their PC-less way of training? :ohnoes:

nobody likes pures. i wanna kill them all just as bad as i want to kill macroers. honestly, i think pures are just a waste of a name.

 

 

 

this might be a weird way of jagex encouraging others to start playing the whole game and not just the fighting part.

 

 

 

this is kinda off topic but i hate pest control. especially with the new skill capes coming out, more people go to pest control because its so easy to get a 99 in a combat based skill because the reward you get. to me it seems like a way of cheating..... pls dont flame on my opinoin. its my opinion, not yours :ohnoes:

Jagex curses the day pures became common.

 

They also hate the existence of rares too.

 

 

 

I admit, I have a pure myself, but only because I realized it was the onlyt I were to set foot in the Wilderness ever again.

 

Most pures are annoying children, who's whole grammar revolves around words such as "n00b" and "0wn3d". (remember, I said most pures, not all pures)

Don't like the current ones, in rsc pures were more respected since training combat was pretty hard with 1 defense.

 

I recall people getting 90+ str on monks in the edgeville monastry!

 

 

 

My current account even used to be my r2h pure on rsc :P

 

 

 

Oooh so much has changed since then.

I realy think they do hate pures., but then again they do create some ver powerful weapons that only need little requirements to weild. The dark bow for example.

 

 

 

Its is true Jagex hates it when people don't do things the way they want. So they always try to fix it.

Anyone want to explain how pures are anoying and bad? Your all just saying "pures are anoying" and "Pures suck", but none of your elaborate.

 

Yes a lot of owners of pure accounts are immature and play the game immorally, but pure accounts themself are simply specialists. The people behind the account don't make the account type in general bad.

That was over 3 years ago, I'm sure Jagex didn't think bots would be capable of what they are now.

 

Times change, Jagex adds more and more things to the game which are used differently from how the expected them etc.

Nearly 4 years ago... times change just like Jagex staff and thoughts. They thought they would have the macroes under control with RS2, well that sure turned out well...

I think that Jagex changed PC not because of pures but because of the complaints about PC and higher levels saying they have to change alot and blah blah. Basically due to the mass amounts of requests/ideas of having multiple boats but by doing so and changing the rewards slightly affected pures without intent to.

I meen, I have a pure myself and it is the main reason I still play RS. Isnt it great to fight people the same level as yours, and hit 20s at lvl 57? I meen, if you go deep in the wildernis there is a chance you will meet some mains, who arent pure. Its their choice to go there, and if you meet a pure (or a team) deep in wildy you are unlucky.

 

 

 

Pures have been trained with a purpose to the stats they want, they have worked for it just like everyone else. If you cant stand pures, then dont go to the wilderniss or make your own. There is nothing you can change about it! =P~

I don't think they don't like pures... I believe they are trying to make the leveling process a bit more fair.

 

 

 

Before it was possible to max a pure in a matter of months. Unfair? Methinkso.

I saw a screenshot of a message to Jagex from a guy complaining about Pest Control and the insane rates of experience quite a few months ago. They replied saying that they are currently trying to create a solution to this.

 

 

 

Simply put, I've been expecting this for quite a while.

 

 

 

I think this might be in responce to the fact that people have found how PC can be used and abused. Defil3d, got 99 defence, his upper levels coming from PC and fixing the barriers, making it very easy for him to get it. The race for first to 200m str is, I'm sure, being done by PC.

 

 

 

What I don't get though, is the fact that people are complaining about the combat stats. So what, you get 99 str at 105k exp an hour? Thats for me on my pure, and I'm 97 strength on it.

 

 

 

Look at thieving, cooking, etc. You're getting mad because strength is so fast to level due to pc? Thieving is 200k+ exp an hour after level 91, and cooking is insane fast pretty much most of the way.

 

 

 

Looking at previous updates, I think Jagex is currently trying to find ways to make it so that stats can't be raised so fast. Fletching was slowed down extremely. Stringing could get you LOADS of exp an hour.

 

 

 

I'm happy with the update though. After pcing from 70-97 str, I was insane bored of pc.

A jagex mod has said that pest controll was never intended to replace conventional training as it has done. It was meant to be a fun mini-game. Seeing that people were getting exp much faster than intended compelled jagex to lessen the experience given and put on more restrictions.

 

 

 

So, they don't hate pures...they just didn't find it apropriate for them to get 100K exp an hour
