July 20, 200718 yr According to Jagex this is not reportable, as its nots spam bcos its game related chat (not random jibber jabber@@@@@@@) and its not macroing because they actually at the keyboard and cant be detected so easily anyway. I'd suggest you re-read the rules As my reply quoted directly from Jagex rules auto-typers are a rule break Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
July 20, 200718 yr I remember one time I was spamming (sorry!) cause I was in a hurry and typing fast (buying stuff) in Seers. And a P-Mod says to please slow down the typing because it's spamming. So I did and we didn't have a problem anymore :P But I type pretty fast (100-115WPM) so I bet some people think I autotype when I'm buying stuff, but what I do is I every few sentences make a mistake on the sentence haha :D Wolfy is Officially Retired.I miss you all (Well, mostly my friends n stuff)If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I check the boards daily. :D
July 20, 200718 yr I'm a fast typerand as said before I purposefully make a mistake every few times Also I randomly jump around what I say eg "selling x yK - Paw" "x for sale! yK - Paw Claw" "Paw - selling x yK - Paw" Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
July 20, 200718 yr I asked Jagex about it once. You can only report them under rule 1 IF they are flooding. If they say the message once every 60 seconds or so, it is alright. But if they flood the chat with it, report for rule 1 Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum
July 20, 200718 yr I'm a fast typerand as said before I purposefully make a mistake every few times Also I randomly jump around what I say eg "selling x yK - Paw" "x for sale! yK - Paw Claw" "Paw - selling x yK - Paw"Exactly. That's exactly what I do so I don't get blamed as an auto typer. :) I asked Jagex about it once. You can only report them under rule 1 IF they are flooding. If they say the message once every 60 seconds or so, it is alright. But if they flood the chat with it, report for rule 1I report under Macroing. I have never gotten in trouble for that. :-s
July 20, 200718 yr I'm pretty sure they are legal but if you spam it it is counted as Offensive Language.
July 20, 200718 yr Yes you should you report them. 2104th to 99 Hunting January 10th 2008Proud Fan Of The Offspring Since 1998
July 20, 200718 yr meh ive bin muted for typing rly fast tbh then later apealed it and got unmuted.... rofl i figured out cause someone lost there rune axe head and theyre like who got? i was liek me...and hes like wtf who got my axe head? and im like ME!!etc...rofl so yes ppl can type that fast its not that fast -.- Let your yellow mellow.
July 20, 200718 yr I'm pretty sure Jagex classifies this as a macro, along with autoclickers. And besides, it's unfair on us...We have to type away whilst these noobs are just sitting back and merching away, making money with virtually no effort whatsoever. I report an autotyper every time I see one (although in some situations there is too many to report)...Hopefully Jagex can put a stop to this soon...
July 20, 200718 yr i would have to say yes, not because its macroing but thats runescape helps u with ur typing and that typing macroers shoudl realise that Woot! Got total lvl 900 in f2p!
July 20, 200718 yr I must say that I disagree with you. I'm a merchanter, and I often hang out at the most popular F2P banks, doing merchanting. During these times I see autotypers almost every second. And they irritate me ALOT! They use a program to do what they're to lazy to do themselves. This causes alot of extra problems to the other, hard-working, non-rule breaking merchanters. Whoever said that merchanting is easy is wrong. While merchanting you often get problems with scammers, beggars, noobs and alot more irritating people who just want the money that you have worked so hard for earning cash. I don't accept this. And to all this there is auto typers. You say that they don't cause so much harm, don't you? Let me tell you this: They do. Right now I'm standing outside Varrock west bank. There is 1 auto typer here right now that's selling a rune (g) kite for a pretty high price. This is not only irritating. The most important thing to why you ALWAYS should report auto-typers is that they make the honest, non-rulebreaking merchanters less heard in the auto-typers spamming of messages. Yes, I hate auto-typers. And I got alot of reasons to do so, and I have tried to state the most important ones above. I hope that I have my point clear when it comes to auto-typers. But even if you still haven't got what I have tried to say, I will state one, final time for you: ALWAYS REPORT AUTO-TYPERS! What he said! I hate every type of autoer! typing "selling ppots - bangupall" all the time starts to hurt...and they auto typers get to sit back and do stuff all! Report em' gah! frustration!
July 20, 200718 yr I only report the ones buying/selling the same thing as me. :-w Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651
July 20, 200718 yr Autotypers should be reported. They annoy and ruin it for the ones not cheating. 99 ranged | 99 magic | 99 defence | 99 hitpointsRemember, it's just a gameFeel free to add me on RS. :) Always ready for a chat.
July 20, 200718 yr Technicaly, you can't report them if it is the same message every 30 seconds. It is easy to tyoe "selling steaks, 500each - wkw" faster then 1 every 10 secs, but if someone is useing an auto talker, it breaks both rule 1 and 6. Report under rule 1 because Jagex can see them spaming with it. Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum
July 20, 200718 yr But I believe that using an autotyper is not macroing. i totally agree, yet im still too "scared" to use one, don't wanna loose my account. :\ I posted here.ftw.
July 20, 200718 yr Yes! Why would you even ask that? Isn't the answer obvious?? You must not use other software to gain an unfair advantage in the game. This includes automation tools, macros, bots, or auto-typers. You may not circumvent any of our mechanisms designed to automatically log out inactive users. What type of third party software is NOT allowed? This includes, but is not limited to the following third party software: Software that attempts to communicate directly with the RuneScape game worlds. Software that monitors, modifies or decrypts the communications between the RuneScape applet and the RuneScape worlds. Software that generates input to the RuneScape applet. This includes software that automatically moves the mouse pointer or generates mouse clicks or key presses. Modified or replacement versions of the RuneScape applet. Reverse engineering the RuneScape applet is strictly prohibited. Using a modified version of the RuneScape applet is not permitted for any reason.
July 20, 200718 yr its hard to tell some time if the text is short, for example i can type like buying unid herbs 1k ea without it disappearing and people say i macro. So u just gotta be careful i did a test a week ago and i can type average of 110 wpm RSN: 1 day late | Private chat: On | 60 ATTACK | 81 STRENGTH | 72 HITPOINTS | | 80 MAGIC | 13 PRAYER | 1 DEFENSE | 65 COMBAT |
July 20, 200718 yr Report every kind of marcos, the auto talkers are very annoying. Also has lazy can people get, having macros type for them... :?
July 20, 200718 yr When it comes to macroing and 3rd party software, jagex always puts in the little line "if it changes the gameplay for you or others...". so use it in this situtation. Does using an auto typer macro change the gameplay for you and others? well for starters, you no longer have to type a line of text over and over, giving you an advantage over other people. Also, using an auto typer will spam the chatbox (most of the time) which in turn is breaking another rule. so yes, report them.
July 20, 200718 yr Rule 7 - Using Third Party Software Effective date: 7th March 2007 You must not use other software to gain an unfair advantage in the game. This includes automation tools, macros, bots, or auto-typers. You may not circumvent any of our mechanisms designed to automatically log out inactive users. You also must not use any RuneScape-specific third party software which encourages breaking of our rules, or bypasses the normal navigation of our website, or automatically requests pages from our website, or which endangers user accounts. Striaght from the rule book on the main page. They should be banned why should they be able to type fast and get more buyers because there message is always there. It gives them a total unfair advantage over us the people who type for real. What i'm suspesting that you use 1 thats why you feel that way. :-k Click for My Blog670th to 99 Smithing July 21st, 07 |743rd to 99 Mining November 29th, 07 | 649th to 99 Runecrafting May 18th, 08 | 29,050th to 99 Defence October 20th, 08 | 20,700th to 99 Magic November 8, 08 | 47,938th to 99 Attack December 19, 08 | 37,829th to 99 Hitpoints December 24, 08 | 68,604th to 99 Strength February 4, 09 | 27,983rd to 99 Range February 9, 09 | 9,725th to 99 Prayer June 8, 09 | 6,620th to 99 Slayer December, 12 09 | 4,075th to 99 Summoning December, 28 09 | 3,551th to 99 Herblore February 24, 10 | 3,192th to 99 Dungeoneering November 11, 10 | 146,600th to 99 Cooking December 29th, 10 | 11,333rd to 99 Construction June 7th, 11 | 16,648th to 99 Farming August 1st, 11 | 19,993th to 99 Crafting August 2nd, 11 | 89,739th to 99 Woodcutting Janurary 1st, 12 | 55,424th to 99 Fishing May 9th, 12| 60,648th to 99 Firemaking May 12th, 12 | 16666th to 99 Agility May 17th, 2012 | 24476th to 99 Hunter June 1st, 2012 | 57,881st to 99 Fletching June 1st, 2012 | All 99s June 1st, 2012 | 3183th to 120 Dungeoneering July 24th, 2012 | 2341st to 2496 Total level July 24th, 2012 | Completionist Cape July 24th, 2012
July 21, 200718 yr I autotype every time I'm selling/buying something. I've made around 20-30m merching thanks to it. But there's nothing wrong with having a message coming up every 10 seconds, it doesn't spam the screen and it's a "health and safety" benefit as it doesn't destroy your hands. A few player mods I've asked said that it's not classed as macroing but then again a few have... seems like the message is kind of mixed up. All that i know is that the times that wanna-be-mods have reported me nothing has come of it. So I will persist until i get a warning.
July 21, 200718 yr Well, I think it should only be classified as auto-typing if it happens every 2 seconds or so. Every 10 seconds is great as it doesn't kill your hands with carpral tunnel. I never report them myself because I didn't know that they would actually get punished. I will now as it gets annoying to get your sales drowned out with a large message every half of a second.
July 21, 200718 yr It is classified as macroing. But most of the time when they do it they are also advertising something... :shame: And the cavemen wondered how to make fire...Im in the .00001% that finds Firemaking fun. If you find it fun add this to your siggy.
July 21, 200718 yr It is classified as macroing. But most of the time when they do it they are also advertising something... :shame: I see many people advertising websites while using auto-typers. "Buy RuneScape gold at (insert website here)" :wall: The thing I hate about it is you can't do anything about it except report them which won't do much good as they have multiple accounts doing it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was happening in members worlds as well.
