The immortal Chuck Norris was alive during the 3rd age, where he trained his legendary unarmed combat skills. Of course, he killed all the warriors but himself, so now the secret is lost forever.

It's weird how the ancient people are perceived to be stronger when as the years go by the average height, lifespan, strength, increases...

Dragon Drops: D spear x 2, D skirt, D half-shield, D axe, D 2h

Barrows Rewards: Ahrims hood, Karil's Coif, half key x 6, D med, torags legs, veracs flail

Yes that is how it happens in runescape.

They also introduce mcdonalds to keep people fat.

lol i find it so funny how people talk about this game like its real life, its just a game, who cares about what weaponsthey used in the 3rg age. =;

It is because its fun to read about it when your training to say woot level up!

Takes some of the level grinding out of the game for a bit of time.

People who get a real stat as their first 99 instead of cooking.

Haha, two things to point out. You don't have a 99 to counter-argue about, so it looks like he has the patients to get a 99 and you don't. Also; nice come back. I really like that. Kid, I don't want to go through this 99 skill [cabbage]. Kay?

I rarely listen to the text of quests anymore; other than 'hard' quests such as Monkey Madness or Legends Quest. I find elaborating what third age people used as weapons pretty boring. So you don't flame me for spamming, I'm going to say bronze.

It's because weapons haven't evolved in forever. When they invent guns we can say we are the stronger age.

First thing, weren't the Barrows brothers from the 3rd Age. God wars and all that, they were commanders in the army of the human race. From simple appearance their weapons look quite simple. A huge axe, spear, flail and hammers most likely made of metal of some sort. A staff of wood maybe. A crossbow of mostly wood and bolts of metal.

darkjab said about the Mahjarrat using dragon weapons and dropping them in battle, then humans using these as they were the most powerful weapons available to them. This means that they didn't use 3rd Age weaponry because they couldn't get hold of it so used the best they could get hold of.

darkjab also said about Jagex saying the Mahjarrat made dragon weapons and later contradicting that with saying dragonkin did. I suppose you could play it off as the Mahjarrat being untrustworthy and simply saying they created them to appear more powerful, or they discovered the secret to it through treachory within the dragonkin.

Or Jagex simply messed up :P

(This kinda stuff interests me and may not be 'real' history it's more interesting than the rubbish at school :P)

I think I love you <3:

Everything she said was awesome. And I will defend those words with my mighty Third Age bronze dagger! And my anti-flaming shield :notalk: .

The only school "history" I pay attention to is ancient history, they were interesting little buggers....

Anyways, I think they pretty much used weapons like the barrows brothers did-spears, hammers, flails, axes, staves, and crossbows. Perhaps throw a few bows, maces, and swords into there, and ta-daaa!

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

What I really want to know is how people got more stupid over the ages. If they used to know how to make the strongest armor and weapons, how come we dont know how to make them now? Now we can only make rune, which is the noobiest of serious armor. In fact people barely wear it for serious combat.

I though technology was supposed to get better over the ages.....

Either way, maybe the weapons they used in the third age havent been discovered yet.... hopefully

You have to consider the fact that it was the Mahjarrat and more recently to our knowledge the dragonkin that both had the claim to making dragon weaponry. Not humankind, so 'we' may have not lost any knowledge at all, for all anyone knows Runite may have not been discovered and only up to say Mith or Addy was used. But as they were unaware of higher metals they were under the impression that they had the strongest they could have bar dragon weapons.

(I'm just discussing the point, nothing personal :P)

And thank you Lenticular J lol.

i'm sure humans didin't make it in first place... dwarves did then we ripped it fof them! (because you can take anything from short ppl and claim as your own!) jk- in case any short ppl are out there reading this

but us "smarty" humans probably mined out all of the magical silver and killed all the white dragons... leaving none for the humans of today.

go humans for wasting the world's natural resources!!!

I'm pretty sure the weapons used then were very basic and primitive, like bronze and iron. Only the heroes actually wielded ultra-powerful weapons like the 3rd age and barrows, given by gods and demi-gods (blessed stuff, only gods could make them).

I'm under the impression that only Zamorak's heroes used dragon weapons, seeing how they look jagged, [bleep]ed, and theatrically frightening.

As for magic, wasn't it the god-spells? Just because Ancient Magicks have the word "ancient" in them doesn't mean they were from the 3rd age.

Oh, the humans DIDN'T decline. They were almost wiped out, and the weapons they used weren't their own tech anyway.

Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

Jagex originally said that the Mahjarrat made dragon armour and weapons (now it's suggested the Dragonkin made them). And when the Mahjarrat fell in combat they dropped parts of the weapons and armour, then humans picked these up and began to use them since they were the 'powerfulest items available to them. .

maybe dragon was all that was available to them. thirs age armor is supposed to be made out of rare beaten silver (read the examine for them) which i bet was (and still is) incredibly expensive :-k

there was no 3rd age weapon only armour. 'nuff said

Weapons? They have no need for weapons, FIST PWNAGE

they used 3rd age weapons obviously, but i would NOT want to see a 2rd age dagger ever released. a 42-42 spec is high enough, you don't need a 50-50 spec .... ever

Yeah I was thinking that too. Maybe they harnessed the power of the Dragon weapons they picked up from the Dragonkin they killed.
