If they don't follow me, are nice, and just asking a simple question, I'll give them advice or lead them to where they want to go, if it's not to much hassle. I never help the people who keep following you asking for money. This also applies to the people that are trying to buy something, see that you have it on (ex. rune scimmy), and ask to buy it. After you say no, they keep asking you, and finally when they realize you're not giving it up, they call you a noob and walk away.

Heres a hammer, some planks and a few nails, now all you gotta do is build a bridge and get over it.

Very, very rarely, I go to F2P Lumby. I find somebody that's begging but looks teachable, then I chide him for begging, tell him how stupid and pointless it is, advise him on moneymaking, and take him (no girls yet) under my wing.

If they make no effort whatsoever to listen or just plain beg, then I wish them good luck in wasting their time, tell them that RuneScape isn't a communist society, and ignore them.

=\ I used to help out people. Made them armors, showed them around, taught them where to go fish and bank, taught them where to train for certain levels, gave them some emergency money(usually about 20k).

I helped because when I was level 3 and spawned in Lumbridge with no freaking clue of where to go or what to start with, a kind person took me under his wings and showed me how to do complete quests, made me armors, and told me where to train.

Now? I stopped. I picked out this girl who asked me for 10g to get into Karamja. I made her full steel, showed her barb village fishing place and even fished with her to help her gather food before I showed her where to train. I had to go for the day so I made sure she knew how to go back and forth from the fishing place and bank in edgeville and left her with 1400 feathers, telling her to stock up on her fish. I came back the next day and asked her how many fish she had caught/cooked. Her answer....? Grand total 19. Her fishing/cooking/woodcutting/firemaking levels were high enough to stock up on enough trouts and salmons, and I had given her 1400 feathers! I asked her what happened to the 1400 feathers and she said, " I don't know". I wanted to bang my head against the wall. =\ She then asked for another full steel set and 40k. I got so annoyed that I just left.

Never helped anyone after that. Never before this did I think helping people was a waste of time. =\

I help beggars.... by given them good advice... "Go earn it yourself like everyone else!!!"

"No speaka engleesh" also works well lol

or

"No, I give all my free stuff to my clan", but this sometimes invokes further questioning about said clan.

If they have decent grammar and spelling then I may offer the advice, but most of the time I ignore them.

I do the same. Advice is free, and happily given to anyone who acutally is interested. Items is *never* given to strangers, but happily to friends - friends who does NOT ask for it.

Cash is something I never give away.

Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)

They shouldn't be helped. Yet I sometimes clear my bank up (this is an example) and just give stuff away to random people who take it. But the whole begging thing for cash is just sad and I'd never motivate it.

I do, occasionally, tele-other people for free since it's a practical and constructive way of helping each other out even if I don't know them.

I don't help them. Plain and simple reason for this: they got to learn to do things themselves. <.<

Most of them are foul-mouthed anyway, so why should I leave what I'm doing to help some kid who's probably too lazy (or dumb) to play a fairly simple mmorpg. Basically all their questions can be answered with the following three words:

Use the manual!

If they have decent grammar and spelling then I may offer the advice, but most of the time I ignore them. But I use to give out money to loads of beggers and they did stop begging. They said thanks, and went to play runescape properly.

Yes, it really depends if I like them or not. If they have good grammar and spelling are relatively nice and smart, I will.

If somebody is asking nicely for something like a couple of fire runes or an anti poison or help on a quest, I usally give them it, but if they are all like "free stuff plz" then I will tell them an easy way to make cash, like mining or collecting cowhides. O:)

No...i don't care how nice or polite they are, they're still asking for something for nothing.

Now if it's a legitimate player asking, say, to borrow a dueling ring or something small that they could get themselves but is a real inconvenience, or say, a few items of food at a slayer task to let them finish in one run, or a legit player who forgot their axe in karamja dungeon, or forgot to bring the 1kish entrance fee, then I'll help them. but people just asking for free junk, no way.

Begger (following me): "Can I have some gold?"

Me: "Say please"

Begger: "Please"

Me: "Gives 5gp"

Begger: "Thanks!"

Me: "Your welcome"

I used to give one of my friends a lot of free stuff because I was getting pretty lucky at barrows at the time, but now I never give away anything, except I did give a low-level friend a rune pickaxe today because at least it showed that he wanted to work to earn more money, and he just needed to get started.
