By the way Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans is what you are talking about. And they still celebrate mardi gras there.

martinisback
Well, its expected to be a Category 3 hurricane, which isnt close as bad as N.Orleans. Go to the MIddle of Hawaii, so you dont get much flood, it by the way can be weakened to a lvl 1 hurricane! Good luck & stay safe! --Quit--(As of December 22th, 2007)
deloriagod
I just left Hawaii (was on Maui last week). I heard it's not going to hit but expect a lot of rain and some big arse waves. Sounds like the surf is gonna be good ;) Internet Marketing For Newbies

ThurinEthir
When I was in Taiwan, we had 3 typhoons back to back. I found it rather fun, but that's because it wasn't too dangerous. (Except for the fact that I was in the middle of the mountains when it started, then had to ride a bus downhill, followed by running across a really large street in sandals (Without an umbrella) and riding the MRT (Kind of like a subway) above ground. It was fun watching the train get pummeled by water. Anyways, my advice (Which may not be good) is to stay inside. But then, my experiences are on the 4th floor of a building designed to resist earthquakes and typhoons. highlanders
Flossy!! Lol In all cases the people who died in katrina died because they refused to go out of the city even though there was a big hurricane coming. You will be gone way before it hits your city. Worse thing that happens is the destruction of the buildings of your city, but hey, they're just buildings, it's nothing compared to human lives. 2480+ total

Satenza
Pop, lock and drop it... oh wait, thats a dance move. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Kill_Thomas9
Unless the part of Hawaii you live in has massive levees that can break and flood your city, you dont have to worry about it being like New Orleans.
