End of the line for powerful weapons?

Featured Replies

Well we all know that The God Wars Dungeon released some pretty high-hitting material. Do you think that it is actually possible that they will release any more higher hitting weapons then before, you know Runescape ends as we know it? It was 2 1/2 years since the whip, and does anyone think Runescape will be around in 2 1/2 years? :-k

I think this is the end of the line for these new strong weapons.

So, what is your opinion?

^^ Then there'd better be a new HP system coming out soon :|

E.G. Two actual hit points for every level? Or something like that.

see, the thing is, jagex has pretty much endless boundries of what they can do with this, all because of one thing. Specials. They can integrate new specials, that do new, unique things, etc, instead of just having a super strong weapon, like the godsword (Which does have pretty beastly specials though)

Hits is the most simplistic skill, with unfinite room to be elaborated on.

The godsword is arguably the most powerful weapon ever to have drawn blood upon RuneScape

So no, I doubt weapons of much greater magnitude will be released. Besides, any more powerful and we'll have 1 handed weapons capable of 1 hitting.

It's not to say more powerful armor and prayers won't be released, just somewhat doubtful of strength bonuses through weapons.

Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

Nah. I don't know, I thought the whip was pretty high, and the last weapon to ever come out when I first saw it hit a 40. And now the God Sword (GS) hits 72's+. I really hope new weapons come out, and you get food that either heals more, or we get more hp. Although, if you got hit a 72, you'd have to eat 4 sharks to heal, that would allow the person to do 2 more attacks. :o

there is still plenty of room for hitpoints to be updated upon. resistance to wind/fire/water/earth/ice/shadow/blood/smoke magic, resistance to ranged attacks, resistance to mele attacks, etc. of course this is kind of like defense skills, but it would help hp more than just defence.

Hmmm.... Maybe new hp armor that gives u more hitpoints when you wear it?

No witty signatures for me :(

this weapon isn't even much better than the whip.

What we need is a weapon the requires around 85-95 attack, and 80-95str. You would need a 3 party quest series that requires 60+ in multiple skills and requires you to kill a level 400 boss monster. After you do this, you will have to kill a level 150 or so demon that rotates between mele, ranged, and magic protect prayer. Your protect prayers will only be a 75% protection when fighting this monster. The monster would drop a cirtificate as a 50% drop (they cirtificates are stackable btw). You will need to get a certain amount of certificates (4*[you cb lvl]-150). That means you need 250 cirtificates at lvl 100, 290 cirtificates at lvl 110, and 350 at lvl 125. After you have the required amount of certificates, you trade some person at the end of the quest. You show him the certificates, and he then tells you he needs 6 shards to make the weapon. He then tells you there are 6 monsters you must kill (all of which are in the 220-280 range). The monsters would have level 70 healers that hit through prayer. Once you finish killing all the monsters, you go back to the person, who then takes all 6 shards, your cirtificates, and then charges you an additional 7million gp. You come back after 5 hours, and he will have your sword.

The day of that release, the RSOF would crash due to the amount of rants saying "OMG WTF JADEX ITS TOO HARD 2 GET IT". Because they want something easy to get. :-w

For sure there will be new weps, and also new food !! it would be ORCA

I think they will realease more powerful weapons but they will have serious disadvantages / be untradeable or from a near-impossible monster. The Godsword is an example of Jagex using tactics in the game as although it is very strong it is 2 handed and as slow as a battleaxe.

Wonder why everyone ignored my post. Anyway, I doubt it since the Godsword is supposed to be the most powerful weapon by far. If Jagex released new weapons that offer higher bonuses, it would refute everything that the Godsword is. I mean, it is hardly flexible to use reliably, and losing its strength bonus status will mean it is somewhat obsolete.

Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

i dont know why people keep wanting new hp system with more hp- because, to be hounest, it wouldn't make a differance without higher healing food brought into the game- you may survive a few hits with 200 hp, but the hp restore rate would be the same, so it would only make fights 100 hp longer.

the godsword is not that good, the fact that it is two handed and battleaxe speed already means it is worse for tarining compared to a whip.

They should make high-hitting weapons like the Godsword work differently in the Wilderness.

Pretty much what Dragon said.

Thread terminated.

I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator?

No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.

I definitely agree that they need to elaborate and work on the Hitpoints system. Maybe they could raise hitpoints to 110, and leave all other stats at 99? :-\

Because people with Dharok's and godswords could kill someone with 99hp in two or three shots, and I don't think we need higher-healing food, because it'd be up to 24 per piece or something.

Guthix sword ftw.

everyone talks of a new skill coming, then they release this weapon that everyone now says its the end of runescape that its to powerfull. Maybe, just maybe they have decided to raise or lift the cap on skills. That would explain why they haven't released a new skill and keep putting weapons in the game that are so strong...

swordwarior.png

It's been a while since I last played, but I always thought they should introduce a new skill or a manner of "training" your character in specific fighting styles or martial arts, so to speak. Such as making your character more effective at defending themselves, so they could possibly even parry attacks during combat. It would be interesting to see a couple of players with Godswords dueling and see lots of "parry" splashes or something of the sort. Not to mention there would also have to be training to make characters hit better with certain weapons. Maybe if they ever add the eastern lands in, they might include it. It would certainly balance out any new super-powerful weapons they might throw out.
