indy500fan
I'm going to college just to get a better job. I'd like to study some stuff just to do it, but I don't have the money for that. If you're planning to go to law/medical/business school, your major doesn't matter. Study whatever interests you. 2 year community college :P . Don't even get electives. BlueTear
I recieve 72kr every day. So that'd be about... 7̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì I think. Unless I miscalculated somewhere, my earnings per second is somewhere around 8.1*10^(-5). And I'm excempt from all kinds of work related laws involving, say, hours per week before it hits "slave labour". ... at least the meals are free... Ambassadar
Let's see, in college I was worth about hmm... very rough estimates... -10k a year in tuition -3.5k a year in housing -3kish in utilities, insurance, etc -4kish in food So I was about 21k a year in the bucket. 57 dollars a day in the bucket $2.40 an hour 4 cents a minute So my worth in college per minute was negative ~.07 cents a second. meol
You can't really say "how much" someone is "worth", unless you're speaking of a society that accepts slavery, or one that values one race above the other ones. If a baseball player/drug dealer earns millions a month, and a doctor thousands a month, who would you say is more productive/necessary to society? Who would then be worth more? Maybe I'm just weird, but I'm not going to study something because it'll give me a high-paying job, I'm going to study [Physics] because I'm good at, I'm interested in it, and because it maybe will allow me to reach different things. However, have you ever heard of physicists earning as much as lawyers, or even getting good jobs? This signature is intentionally left blank. dwarfdude3
Education = Knowledge = Money Few study just to study. Most know at the end of college is a high paying career. Maybe so. But maybe a lot of people waste their lives with this philosophy...

It's "flawed" the same way the "RL pictures" are flawed; Inaccurate and frivolous. Sumpta
Education = Knowledge = Money Few study just to study. Most know at the end of college is a high paying career. Wrong. Education = knowledge = power Wrong. Most study because they crave knowledge. If money is your only motivation, you're going to have a rough few years at university... Wrong. Where I live, as in most of the Western world I believe, it's the higher educated people who can't find jobs. There's a shortage of people to perform technical (e.g. electricians) and menial work (e.g. builders). There are more non-profitable university trajects (languages, arts, psychology,...) than profitable ones (engineer, economics, law). I myself have been paid way below my grade for a few years. I don't (and a lot of us do) think that our worth is simply measured by how much money we are making. The picture thread was (for the most part) pretty on the money for a lot of people by the way. :P . And, at any rate, it was mostly just exaggerating a point -- not supposed to actually mean this is what that person is exactly.

The definition he wanted to use for the word 'worth' was clearly outlined in the first post. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
