WHY choose that skill to get 99 in?

Featured Replies

i dont have the time resources, energies & motivation to get a cape just for show-off. I rather stick to what i love doing (slayer) and hopefully somewhere in the next decade i'll get that cape.

99 hunter because I loved the skill, and hey, I've gotten a 4k chompy hat before hunter. :D So I figured it would match.

It also got my a high ranged.

My next goal will be 99 firemaking, since it is very cheap (5.4m for 90k maples, ka ching 8-) ), its great xp (about 500k a day ) and it doesnt make me die from boredome out here in f2p. And it trims my huntercape nicely.

Well i for 1 think its sad that i dont have a 99 yet so i am gettin 99 cooking

i just think a level 100 should have a 99 no matter which it is

far from true, there are level 120s that don't because they are noobs like druminator....

anyways...

i got 99 defence because it my favorite skill :-s

OMG! Hey thats me your talking about there, mr. Noobface! :XD:

Come back and talk to me when you get a nice trio of 98s, with 95 slayer and all stats at 75 or higher, until then I want to hear nothing further from you Mr. Defence noob. :P

Seriously though salim having a certain combat level hardly requires you to have a certain total level or amount of level 99 Skills by then.

In the long run its still just a game that needs to be played for nothing more then fun and if your thinking that your required to get a certain skill to a certain level for anything more then fun, aren't you really missing the big picture with such a narrow viewpoint of the game?

Fun. All about fun.

Whip Drops: (42!!!) Dragon Drops: (90+!!!!!) 2 D CHAINS!, 3 D Axe, 8 D meds, 7 left halfs, 7 D legs, 6 skirts, 8 Spears[/hide]

I got 99 in construction because I wanted to have a nice house, I really love the skill. Nonetheless, knowing that construction was the rarest skillcape did influenced my decision.

I'm going for 99 runecrafting because I feel a great sense of accomplishment and I also love the skill for giving me such an awesome income.

- difficulty: easy capes are naturally popular

- standing: non-buyable capes are highly respected

- monetary gain: moneymaking skills such as hunter are popular as well

- pleasure: the skills they like doing

- achievement: the harder the skill, the greater the sense of achievement

Agreed with all of those as the main determinants

99 fletching/cooking are still sought after because they are easy.

I would also like to add expense as a determinant. People will tend to go after cheaper skills, or skills that have a high return. Expensive skills are also more or less respected.

+1, well said. I think runecrafting may just be penultimate.

Being immature is a part of being mature.

Since Rsc, I always enjoyed Ranging & made sure it was my first 99. ::'

Thanks to WithTheQuickness for the sig!

Woot just got unbanned, now the reason I am going to get 99 attack is so I can hit more, meaning easier to lvl str and def(and hp).

When you mentioned the Dragon Plates I had a sudden vision of a load of gangsters running around in fancy dress yealling "Grim Reaper in da hood!"

My first 99 will be fishing, cuz i only need 1.5m to get skillcape, and it's ver profitable on high level

My second will be cooking or woodcutting (i'm not sure),

Dharoks, emo's ultimate weapon if you know what i'm sayin.
Very nice 10/10

For a second when I was looking at your drop-list picture. Ilooked at the dragon longsword and said "They have a dragon longsword now??" ohh I'm tired :wall:

..., then I noticed a gravestone where our tank was supposed to be and my health was a 1 digit number again.

I am going for 99 hunter for a few reasons.

1st, I enjoy it more than any other member skill (its the only emmber skill I like training), and I got bored when I did 73,74 fishing and cooking on f2p (which were my favorite skills).

2nd, is easy money. I made money off my last fishing but since then I couldnt be bothered to find a sorce of income. 2mill only lasts a little while (I made a bit more than that) considering I stoped the fishing about 6 months ago.

3rd, I can leel it fast. I gain easily 57k-63k exp an hour. It will eventualy be possible to gain 112k exp an hour in the last few levels.

4th, I have been here for years, if I had leveled properly my whole playing time I would easily have 5 pp's by now. Its about tiem I got at least 1.

I got 99 Thieving first because I wanted an easy 99 level for the cape.

I got 99 cooking because it was easy and quick and needed to trim my thieving cape.

I caught the monkfish I needed to get 99 cooking, so I finished fishing off to 99.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

first thing I wanna do is get my wubly fishing cape

then I plan on getting 99 agility, but I'll likely throw that out when I get bored

Yayyyyyy...

Im going for 99 range for no other reason than that it is my favorite skill.

+1

its just going to take a looooong time for me to get there.

I chose firemaking purely because I wasn't satisfied with my other capes (Cooking, Fletching, and Attack; PCd that). However, I've noticed that some people are starting to lump FM in with cooking and fletching... which is completely wrong, because there is no FM x, it hasn't changed at all since the beginning of RS2, just more people have it because of the cape. I got MAJOR wrist pain from 99 fm... hell from 97-99 it was so bad I had to use my left hand. And FM isn't cheap, either, unless you plan to do it with willows or something, but then you have to burn a lot more so that takes many hours more...

Just to have a Skillcape, the easiest one.

Or because it's a rare cape, which makes it cool :D

Or just because you like a skill...

[Currently playing: K1ll L1f3]

Because I have a never-ending passion to raise levels. Getting 99 makes me feel very good. And usually useful to have a 99 skill.

Also the capes are awesome. :D

That is why I get 99's.

Well i for 1 think its sad that i dont have a 99 yet so i am gettin 99 cooking

i just think a level 100 should have a 99 no matter which it is

exactly what mat said, telling from your sig, your stats aare very even, and thats something to be proud because i for 1 cant keep my farming, cons, rc or herblore up with the rest

My Goal Signature

I'm going for 99 Woodcutting currently as although not many people realise it is a very hard 99 to get.

Also the Cape and emote is hawt! <3:

I'd have to be pretty doggone bored to go for a level 99 for its own sake. But is the cape worth going for, as a cape? How does it compare with other capes like legends or obby or the god capes?

punitivedsig.png

I'm probably going to get flamed ingame for it but..

The first cape I'm getting is Fletching.

I want it somewhat for the Cape which gives great bonuses.

And I like Fletching, its relaxing and you don't have to click like a madman to train it.

So usually while I fletch I can talk to friends and browse the forums.

Then after that I'll be trying a bit tougher skill to get 99 in.

Either Crafting, Smithing or Mining. Or maybe Def, Atk or Str.

Barrow Drops: Guthan's Helm, Karil's Crossbow.

5 Pieces of the Crystal Key so far.

I would never consider meeting people irl. Not just because of risks that they could be a 40 year old man who is only interested in the bottom half of your body.

Prestige and because I enjoy the skills.

I got 99 smithing after having 98 smithing for years only because I thought I was going to jail at the time and it was something I wanted accomplished before going in.

Other than that, I've always loved smithing and worked my [wagon] off on RS1 and RS2 to raise it.

NOT EVEN DOOM MUSIC

Well, I went for 66 Hunter just so that I could wield a spottier cape, and now it's got me addicted to Hunter, so I plan to go for 99. But not quite yet, I need to set myself a goal like 71 (Imps) or 83 (Dragon Implings)...

Plus the fact that I have hunter outfits which would look so damn cool with a Hunter Cape, and it's quite rare too.

~ W ~

sigzi.png

Im choosing to go try for 99 ranged because I like it, its fairly cheap now, with bone bolts, the cape owns, pwning at c wars with crystal bow, and no food required for training

enguar85.png

Us jews love our grape juice!

i think the first and main reason i would go for a SC is because of the look. so often in this game do i spend time to look cool, lol.

i also enjoy some of the skills, of course

now, as for the capes i want, Slayer (looks), Agility (looks and uses), then prayer (all round)

hefty goals, which is also another reason to get one, these are capes rarely seen! i want to feel individual!
