November 4, 200718 yr mechscape or any other mmo which makes rs being put on hold or abandones would make me quit,i dont want to play another mmo after rs so i want rs to be at the forefront.im afraid tht after a week or so mechscape unless substantially better would make me quite mmos for good. hopefully just small ones

Didn't Warcraft do that with Starcraft already?" Priority or not, it'll be nice to see Jagex moving on than with just Runescape. Yeah, they want to develop new games, i don't think it's weird for a company to do that though.. November 4, 200718 yr They have the domain name "mechscapegold.com" and a bunch other names that would be gold-selling sites, so that means their using gold again which means it isn't in the future? They wouldn't use gold pieces in the future... So maybe it'll be like 100 years after the "world of runescape" becomes extinct, and we see little traces of Runescape like the fence in Falador or something, how frickin sweet would that be :P
November 4, 200718 yr Just because jagex is developing different games doesn't mean they are concentrating less on runescape. I'm sure they have different developers working on mechscape and not pulling them off runescape to work on it.

Just because a company develops a second game doesn't mean they are going to stop working or pull any resources at all off the development of another game. You can't compare this to when rs2 came out. It is the same game, just a newer version and they wanted people to play their newer version so they halted all development for the older one. Jagex as a company will most likely have a completely different staff working on Mechscape. It will not interrupt the development of Runescape at all.

Well said, but as more and more people turn to MechScape (not saying this WILL happen though) the less development Runescape would have. :D Why would they "turn" from Runescape? It's no different than when another MMO comes out. Yes, Runescape players would give it a try, seeing as it's JAGeX, but it's not going to cause 3/4 of players to switch games. Those who play Runescape because they enjoy it will remain.
