Adicolorz
Dunno why but song lyrics are very important to me in a song, i am passionate about finding clever, smooth lyrics and wanted to know if anyone else feels the same about lyrics and wanted to post thier favourites. No avioding the censor but just put the first letter of the word, i know swearing isnt "right" but who says it cant be used cleaverly. Some of my favourites are: Dr. Dre - still dre Ni__as try to be the king but the ace is back ^ best lyric ever? :ohnoes: Kayne West - forget but its last track on college dropout I went to the malls and i balled to hard oh my god is that a black card? i turned around and replied why yes but i prefer the term african american express. Dizzee Rascal - Westwood freestyle i used to be a shotter sell a little weed but im mainly a jacker take what i need ^^ in a freestyle! Bob Marley - roots rock reggea Feel like dancin' Dance cause we are free 50 Cent - many men The feds didn't know much, when Pac got shot I got a kite from the pens that told me, Tuck got knocked I ain't gonna spell it out for you motherf__s all the time Are you illiterate ni_a? You can't read between the lines ^ hes a rubbish artist but those bars own Guru - livesaver Scooby doo wah scooby doo wee Like a jazz player I improvise wisely Free with the style, I flow like the Nile but remember, don't mistake the smile Deep rooted is my rhymin Like ancient African griots, precise is my timing But let me get to the essence of what I'm sayin here Too many blood red streets with bodies layin there The systematic fanatics are at it again Tryin to kill me and all of us my friend But don't bend to the mental strain Against all odds, we must strive for essential gains Be true to the life the Lord gave ya And that's a message from the lifesaver ^ that song is so chilled - deffo must listen to track. Fort Minor - Where'd you go Where'd you go? I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone. She said "Some days I feel like [cabbage], Some days I wanna quit, and just be normal for a bit," I don't understand why you have to always be gone, I get along but the trips always feel so long, And, I find myself trying to stay by the phone, 'Cause your voice always helps me to not feel so alone, But I feel like an idiot, workin' my day around the call, But when I pick up I don't have much to say, So, I want you to know it's a little [bleep]ed up, That I'm stuck here waitin', at times debatin', Tellin' you that I've had it with you and your career, Me and the rest of the family here singing "Where'd you go?" I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone. Where'd you go? I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone, Please come back home... You know the place where you used to live, Used to barbecue up burgers and ribs, Used to have a little party every Halloween with candy by the pile, But now, you only stop by every once and a while, [cabbage], I find myself just fillin' my time, With anything to keep the thought of you from my mind, I'm doin' fine, I plan to keep it that way, You can call me if you find that you have something to say, And I'll tell you, I want you to know it's a little [bleep]ed up, That I'm stuck here waitin', at times debatin', Tellin' you that I've had it with you and your career, Me and the rest of the family here singing "Where'd you go?" I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone. Where'd you go? I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone, Please come back home... I want you to know it's a little [bleep]ed up, That I'm stuck here waitin', no longer debatin', Tired of sittin' and hatin' and makin' these excuses, For why you're not around, and feeling so useless, It seems one thing has been true all along, You don't really know what you've got 'til it's gone, I guess I've had it with you and your career, When you come back I won't be here and you can sing it... Where'd you go? I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone. Where'd you go? I miss you so, Seems like it's been forever, That you've been gone, Please come back home... Please come back home... Please come back home... Please come back home... Please come back home... ^ that song is so touching and chilled, its 2 of the members of linken park and the beat is quite similar but its rap based and more chilled out. i will think of more but my mind is blank post yours up, happy to explain any lyrics to peeps that dont understand them Edit: whoaa TIF'ers like their rock, maybe i can take some notes? Nadril
If you're looking for clever and insightful lyrics then rap isn't the place to find them. Quoted For Truth. I suggest old-school classic rock if you're looking for origional lyrics. Lets not get into this [cabbage] again. Every genre is capable of meaningful lyrics (even if you your self can't relate to them) you just have to look past what's popular. Anyways, favorite lyrics.. difficult. Here's some I enjoy: Agalloch- She painted the fire across the skyline Oh dismal mourning... I open my weary eyes once again My life has been left hollow and ashes have filled the gorge of my within Last night I hoped and wished I'd die in my sleep but no catharsis was granted to me Will this pain ever pass? The enchanting perfume of winter and the bleak, cold breath of her still haunts me... Oportet ubique pulchritudinem evanescere So half of me rode to the mountains and the other half soared high in the winds to a place where the angels had fallen, the soil gagged and choked on their wings My soul was the pale skyline that she stretched across the horizon Two years had brought the fire that she paints upon my loathsome canvas She is the dark one... As a bird I watched her from my cold tower in the heavens and when she fell from the northplace, I flew down and embraced her I took her where the snow falls forever, she showed me the haunted woods We gathered together in the oaken palace, free from both death and life The fire blazed in her eyes one day and she tore the soul from my chest With a bleeding heart, I flew back to my cold tower to never escape and lie in a pool of death forever I saw the nightfall... It called to me like a river of shadows It sang to me with the cries of a thousand ravens that blackened the sky as they took flight and sank the Sol I shall never trust the sun again, Eridanis Nadir I ran away far into the woods To find the Sol, I called to her... I don't want to be forgotten...I never wanted to be human NEVER!!!!! So alas the sun had descended, her fire burned brilliant in the sky The trees bore their withered silhouettes, that cast a spell upon unearthly white No wolf shall keep his secrets, no bird shall dance the skyline And I am left with nothing but an oath that gleams like a sword To bathe in the blood of man Mankind... Dream Theater- A change of Seasons I. The Crimson Sunrise (Instrumental) II. Innocence I remember a time My frail, virgin mind watched the crimson sunrise Imagined what it might find Life was filled with wonder I felt the warm wind blow I must explore the boundaries Transcend the depth of winter's snow Innocence caressing me I never felt so young before There was so much life in me Still I longed to search for more But those days are gone now Changed like a leaf on a tree Blown away forever into the cool autumn breeze The snow has now fallen and my sun's not so bright I struggle to hold on with the last of my might In my den of inequity viciousness and subtlety struggle to ease the pain struggle to find the sane Ignorance surrounding me I've never been so filled with fear All my life's been drained from me The end is drawing near.... III. Carpe Diem 'Carpe diem, seize the day' I'll always remember The chill of November The news of the fall The sounds in the hall The clock on the wall ticking away 'Seize the Day' I heard him say Life will not always be this way Look around Hear the sounds Cherish your life while you're still around "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old Time is still a-flying; And this same flower that smiles today, Tomorrow will be dying." We can learn from the past But those days are gone We can hope for the future But there may not be one The words stuck in my mind alive from what I've learned I have to seize the day To home I returned Preparing for her flight I held with all my might Fearing my deepest fright She walked into the night She turned for one last look She looked me in the eye I said, 'I Love You...Good-bye' "It's the most awful thing you'll ever hear." "If you're lying to me..." "Oh, you dearly love her." "...just have to leave... all our lives." "Seize the day!" "Something happened. "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may." "She was killed." IV. The Darkest of Winters (Instrumental) V. Another World So far or so it seems All is lost with nothing fulfilled Off the pages and a T.V. screen Another world where nothing's true Tripping through the life fantastic Lose a step and never get up Left alone with a cold blank stare I feel like giving up I was blinded by a paradise Utopia high in the sky A dream that only drowned me Deep in sorrow, wondering why Oh come let us adore him Abuse and then ignore him No matter what, don't let him be Let's feed upon his misery Then string him up for all the world to see I'm sick of all you hypocrites holding me at bay And I don't need your sympathy to get me through the day Seasons change and so can I Hold on Boy, No time to cry Untie these strings, I'm climbing down I won't let them push me away Oh come let us adore him Abuse and then ignore him No matter what, don't let him be Let's feed upon his misery Now it's time for those to deal with me VI. The Inevitable Summer (Instrumental) VII. The Crimson Sunset I'm much wiser now A lifetime of memories run through my head They taught me how for better or worse, alive or dead I realize there's no turning back Life goes on the offbeaten track I sit down with my son Set to see the Crimson Sunset (Gather ye rosebuds while ye may) Many years have come and gone I've lived my life, but now must move on (Gather ye rosebuds while ye may) He is my only one Now that my time has come Now that my life is done We look into the sun 'Seize the day and don't you cry, Now it's time to say good-bye Even though I'll be gone, I will live on, live on.' Normally Dream Theater's weakness is they just don't have any emotion... or feelings behind their work and lyrics. A Change of Seasons completly goes above that, its easily one of their best songs ever written. Just listen to it, the first time you hear it (hell, even the 50th) it'll give you chills. Simply amazing and one of my favorite songs. Aarni- Squaring the Circle The first matter, The salt of salts, Celestial water dissolves The subtlest fluid sustains The burning of sulphur. Squaring the circle, Spirit and matter Driving the triumphal charlot, Scattering treasures for the world Blackening to become whitened, Transmutation accomplished. Squaring the circle, Zero equals two Aliquem alium intermum, quadratura circuli The blood of the lion, the eagle's tears, Result in the stone of millions of years. Squaring the circle, solve et coagula Omne superius sicut inferius Something a bit different. I love Aarni's style. :P Thats all for now. Lets try and keep this on topic guys, haven't had one of these threads in a while. :P

pennywise
Time - Pink Floyd Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking And racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time has gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can When I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells. Mmmm... Pink Floyd - Goodbye Blue Sky [ look, mummy. theres an airplane up in the sky. ] Did you, did you see the frightened ones? Did you, did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter, When the promise of a brave new world, Unfurled beneath a clear blue sky? Did you, did you see the frightened ones? Did you, did you hear the falling bombs? The flames are all long gone, But the pain lingers on. Goodbye, blue sky. Goodbye, blue sky. Goodbye. Goodbye. rushrock
Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, blue skies from pain. Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have you found? The same old fears. Wish you were here. Goodbye Blue Sky is a creepy song. Creepy, but meaningful. :|

StrOwez
Metallica - One I cant remember anything Cant tell if this is true or dream Deep down inside I feel to scream This terrible silence stops me Now that the war is through with me Im waking up I can not see That there is not much left of me Nothing is real but pain now Hold my breath as I wish for death Oh please god, wake me Back in the womb its much too real In pumps life that I must feel But cant look forward to reveal Look to the time when Ill live Fed through the tube that sticks in me Just like a wartime novelty Tied to machines that make me be Cut this life off from me Hold my breath as I wish for death Oh please god, wake me Now the world is gone Im just one Oh god, help me hold my breath as I wish for death Oh please God help me Darkness imprisoning me All that I see Absolute horror I cannot live I cannot die Trapped in myself Body my holding cell Landmine has taken my sight Taken my speech Taken my hearing Taken my arms Taken my legs Taken my soul Left me with life in hell U2- Sometimes you can't make it on your own. The lyric was written by lead singer Bono as a tribute to his father, Bob Hewson, who died in 2001; Bono sang this at his funeral. The video to the song begins with a note from Bono about his father, saying "I wish I'd known him better." Tough, you think you've got the stuff You're telling me and anyone You're hard enough You don't have to put up a fight You don't have to always be right Let me take some of the punches For you tonight Listen to me now I need to let you know You don't have to go it alone And it's you when I look in the mirror And it's you when I don't pick up the phone Sometimes you can't make it on your own We fight all the time You and I...that's alright We're the same soul I don't need...I don't need to hear you say That if we weren't so alike You'd like me a whole lot more Listen to me now I need to let you know You don't have to go it alone And it's you when I look in the mirror And it's you when I don't pick up the phone Sometimes you can't make it on your own I know that we don't talk I'm sick of it all Can - you - hear - me - when - I - Sing, you're the reason I sing You're the reason why the opera is in me... Where are we now? I've got to let you know A house still doesn't make a home Don't leave me here alone... And it's you when I look in the mirror And it's you that makes it hard to let go Sometimes you can't make it on your own Sometimes you can't make it The best you can do is to fake it Sometimes you can't make it on your own A friend to all is a friend to none. How2PK
Me mentioning Cave is a bit of a bore now, but the lyrics to this song are fantastic. I don't really have favorites. Don't reed if you believe in things as 'bad words'. [hide]Well, I lived with one Well, I lived with one, I lived with two, I even lived with a third I wanna tell you about number one He was a miserable sh*twringing turd Like he reminded me of some evil gnome Shakin hands was like shakin a hot, fat, oily bone Holdin on for far too long Yes he took me in, he took me in He said that I looked pale and thin I told him he looked fat His lips were red and lickin wet His house was roastin hot In fact it was a f*ckin slum Scum! Scum! Well then he hooked up with some sl*t from the same game Black snow! Black snow! C*cksuckstress, and I should know Mean and vicious, her microphone always smelled suspicious His and herpes bath towel type If you know what I mean I could not look at him, worm He'd be takin a shower and who should walk in He was the epitome of their type Her middle name was Welcome, his was Wipe Scum! Scum! Well you're on the sh*t list Thrust and twist, twist and screw You gave me a bad review And maybe you think that it's all just water under the bridge Well my UNfriend, I'm the type that holds a grudge I'm your creator I think you f*ckin traitor, chronic masturbator, Sh*tlicker, user, self-abuser, jigger jigger! What rock did you crawl from? Which ..... did you come? You Judas, Brutus, Vitus, Scum! Hey four-eyes, come That's right, it's a gun Face is bubble, blood, and ...... street Snowman with six holes clean into his fat f*ckin guts Psychotic drama mounts Guts well deep then a spring is fount I unload into his eyes Blood springs Dead snow Blue skies[/hide] Too cool. assassin_696
Lover, You Should've Come Over - Jeff Buckley Looking out the door I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners Parading in a wake of sad relations As their shoes fill up with water Maybe I'm too young To keep good love from going wrong But tonight, you're on my mind so You never know Broken down and hungry for your love With no way to feed it Where are you tonight? Child, you know how much I need it. Too young to hold on And too old to just break free and run Sometimes a man gets carried away, When he feels like he should be having his fun Much too blind to see the damage he's done Sometimes a man must awake to find that, really, He has no-one... So I'll wait for you... And I'll burn Will I ever see your sweet return? Oh, will I ever learn? Oh, Lover, you should've come over Cause it's not too late. Lonely is the room the bed is made The open window lets the rain in Burning in the corner is the only one Who dreams he had you with him My body turns and yearns for a sleep That won't ever come It's never over, My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder It's never over, all my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her... It's never over, All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter... It's never over, She's a tear that hangs inside my soul forever... But maybe I'm just too young to keep good love From going wrong Oh... lover you should've come over... Yes, and I feel too young to hold on I'm much too old to break free and run Too deaf, dumb, and blind To see the damage I've done Sweet lover, you should've come over Oh, love, well I'll wait for you Lover, you should've come over 'Cause it's not too late. Coming Back To Life - Pink Floyd Where were you when I was burned and broken While the days slipped by from my window watching Where were you when I was hurt and helpless Because the things you say and the things you do surround me While you were hanging yourself on someone else's words Dying to believe in what you heard I was staring straight into the shining sun Lost in thought and lost in time While the seeds of lifeand the seeds of change were planted Outside the rain fell dark and slow While I pondered on this dangerous but irresistible pastime I took a heavenly ride through our silence I knew the moment had arrived For killing the past and coming back to life I took a heavenly ride through our silence I knew the waiting had begun And headed straight..into the shining sun "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

meb
Dj Coone- Words of the gang I remember the day when I first heard electronic music I knew back then that the illegal computer sound was gonna be my call My heart got hooked on 4 by 4 beats When house took his journey with Jack Chicago and acid house Now my heart is hooked forever It's in my soul, in my veins On my mind 24/7 I don't care if it's french-tek, hardstyle, hardcore, oldschool or jump I don't understand people who are satisfied with ordinary pop music They just listen to whatever radio station decide they should like Followed by an overkill of ringtone commercials meant for kids And my god, they like it! Some people even think that house clubs are for weirdos only! Maybe they're right, maybe we are weird Maybe this music is weird and maybe the clubs are overrated But we're in this together, we're in this for the love of beats, for the love of loops If you're in the scene, being a DJ seems like a natural path to follow. Ha, back in the days DJ's were weird people who liked music in a weird way Back then you had to be a nerd to become a DJ, Now a days everybody wants to be a DJ, Now a days everybody wants to be that nerd, It sickens me, I hate those smartasses who think that being a DJ is an easy way to get laid. Well .. Get a life! If you're not in it for the love of the music, would you please [bleep] off! 8-) Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Matok
Thats the second time i post this lyrics this week but...wth The most beautiful love song ever written (with/without the story behind this album) Robert Wyatt - Sea Song You look different every time you come From the foam-crested brine Your skin shining softly in the moonlight Partly fish, partly porpoise, partly baby sperm whale Am I yours? Are you mine to play with? Joking apart - when you're drunk you're terrific when you're drunk I like you mostly late at night, you're quite alright But I can't understand the different you in the morning When it's time to play at being human for a while please smile! You'll be different in the spring, I know You're a seasonal beast like the starfish that drift in with the tide So until your your blood runs to meet the next full moon You're madness fits in nicely with my own Your lunacy fits neatly with my own, my very own We're not alone

Hah, what a small minded opinion... http://www.myspace.com/sagefrancis  Anyway, on topic. I always loved these; Rise Against - Last Chance Blueprint late nights and bloodshot eyes, clock ticking half past five, we're barely breathing but we're still alive. GO! our plans are all laid out, take all these unmarked roads, we blaze the trails to places no ONE GOES, yeah! one last chance to go, if I don't leave tonight I never will one last chance to go, let's take it now in for the kill if in time we find ourselves, back where we started from, too weak to fight and much too tired to run before you swallow me into your perfect life, i'm not going out without a fight, yeah! one last chance to go, if I don't leave tonight I never will one last chance to go, let's take it now in for the kill but this blueprints faded grey and here it seems like just yesterday when we mapped out the details of our great escape, but still these roads all beckon me to uncover their mystery but I fall like dead autumn leaves and let the jetstream carry me one last chance to go, if I don't leave tonight I never will one last chance to go And this, I plan to get the italic verse tattood on me one day, not because i'm a fan of the band but because I don't think anyone's put how you should live your life into words so perfectly as this. The Ataris - So Long, Astoria It was the first snow of the season i can almost see you breathin in the middle of that empty street Sometimes i still see myself in that lonesome bedroom playin my guitar and singing songs of hope for a better future life is only as good as the memories we make and i'm taking back what belongs to me polaroids of classrooms unattended these relics of remembrence are just like shipwrecks only theyre gone faster than the smell after it rains last night while everyone was sleepin i tripped through my old neighborhood and resurrected memories from ashes we said that we would never fit in we were really just like them does rebellion ever make a difference? life is only as good as the memories we make and im taking back what belongs to me these relics of remembrence are just like shipwrecks only theyre gone faster than the smell after it rains So long astoria i found a map to buried treasure and even if we come home empty handed well still have our stories of battle scars, pirate ships and wounded hearts, broken bones, and all the best of friendships and when this hourglass has filtered out its final grain of sand i raise my glass to the memories we had this is my wish this is my wish im takin back im takin them all back
Nadril
Hah, what a small minded opinion... http://www.myspace.com/sagefrancis Saga Francis - Makeshift Patriot Frank, what's up man? I'm just watching some [cabbage] On the news. It's [bleep]ing [cabbage] Reporters trying to a [bleep]ing win an Emmy. (X3) Makeshift Patriot The Flag Shop Is Out Of Stock I Hang Myself at Half Mast ItÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s the Makeshift The Patriot The Flag Shop is Out of Stock I hang myself... via live telecast Coming live from my own funeral, beautiful weather offered a nice shine Which is suitable for a full view of a forever altered skyline When times like these arrive I freestyle biased opinions every other sentence Journalistic ethics slip when I pass them off as objective "Don't give me that ethical [cabbage]." I've got exclusive, explicit images to present to impressionable American kids And it's time to show this world how big our edifice is! That's exactly what they attacked when a typically dark skinned Disney villain Used civilians against civilians and charged the Trojan horses into our buildings Using commercial aviation as instruments of destruction Pregnant women couldn't protect their children Wheelchairs were stairway obstructions Now have to back petal...from the shower of glass and metal Wondering how after it settles we'll find who provided power to radical rebels The Melting Pot seems to be calling the kettle black when it boils over But only on our own soil so the little boy holds a toy soldier.. And waits for the suit and tie to come home. We won't wait 'til he's older before we destroy hopes for a colder war to end "Now get a close up of his head" Makeshift Patriot The Flag Shop Is Out of Stock I Hang Myself at Half Mast ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà

Out In The Field [Gary Moore Cover] It doesn't matter If you're wrong or if you're right It makes no difference If you're black or if you're white All men are equal Till the victory is won No colour or religion Ever stopped the bullet from a gun Out in the fields The fighting has begun Out on the streets They're falling one by one Out from the skies A thousand more will die each day Death is just a heartbeat away It doesn't matter If you're left or to the right Don't try to hide behind the cause They want to fight There'll be no prisoners taken When the day is done No flag, no uniform Ever stopped the bullet from a gun Out in the fields The fighting has begun Out on the streets They're falling one by one Out from the skies A thousand more will die each day Death is just a heartbeat away There's no communication No one to take the blame The cries of every nation They're falling on deaf ears again Out in the fields Out in the fields They're falling one by one Out in the fields No flag has ever stopped The bullet from a gun Death is just a heartbeat away Out in the fields A heartbeat away Out in the fields Death is just a heartbeat away Out in the fields A heartbeat away Out in the fields In the fields The fighting has begun Out on the streets They're falling one by one Out from the skies A thousand more will die each day OUT! Sixx:Am Dead Man's Ballet Oh no, how could this happen to Such an amazing young boy I had my whole life ahead of me-- Oh God, how could you have let this Happen to such a lovely young child I was their only son and I tried, Tried, tried-- Yeah, you, you miserable father The one who ignored me for half of my life Now I, I can't even look at you Why? Why? Why? Don't abandon me now I don't want to die! You can lead him to the ambulance But you cannot make him live No, you cannot make me live! You can lead him to the ambulance Lead me home! But you cannot make him live Would, could I have done differently You never said there was anything wrong Now the drugs, they give me encouragement Why? Why? Why? Oh God, tell me I'll make it I'll give you my blood if that's all you need Just don't tell me that I'm gonna die, Die, die! Don't abandon me now I don't want to die Alone... You can lead him to the ambulance But you cannot make him live No you cannot make me live! You can lead him to the ambulance Why can't we celebrate? Lead me home!
