RayOxide
As most of you should know I dislike rap music, most of it to me is horrible. It's not the sound, the people, or the beat.. It's the lyrics and the influences. Now I am not saying ALL rap is like this, but most of what's on the hits now are like this... 1) Some can influence young kids into doing drugs and other illegal activites. 2) Some can influence people to swear more, and use disgusting variations of the English language. 3) Some of the songs treat women like they are objects for a man's comfort. Now, remember, this is my opinion. And to those who like rap, dont flame me just because you like it. Flame me because you disagree with the choice of words, etc. Do you feel the same way about this too? Or do you disagree? Or you could just say what you think. :P P.S. Move to music board if you have to, I just find this to be more.. Discussive about my feelings than about the music itself. I dont need a siggy no moar. Hydraides
First of all this will be moved to the music section I like All types of Music including Rap If you saying about rap being offensive fair enough, you could say heavy metal is like that too, heavy metal isnt exactly clean content now I wouldn't say Rap causes Kids to do drugs...That would be like saying computer game cause people to murder another person On another note, my personal thought, some lyrics in rap are ingenous, espiecally some of eminems songs, Compared with things like death metal where they just scream
How2PK
No, I am not going to tell you why. You want to know why? Because you already made your decision. You're not being very open, are you? I could name various reasons why you are wrong. But is that going to change your mind? Are you going to give rap music a chance? No. The reasons have been stated hundreds of times in the Music & Movies forum. The discussion has been done time after time. And nothing comes out of it. Besides, you just asked me if I agreed with your or not. You should choose your words better. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! Ginger_Warrior
3) The songs treat women like they are objects for a man's comfort. Half agreed. Some of them do, some of them are perfectly respectable. That's not just a problem with rap music. There are a few rock bands who also talk about women like they have only one purpose. :-w You're being incredibly generalised here. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

How2PK
As most of you should know I dislike rap music, everything like it to me is horrible." That doesn't really sound like you don't hate all rap music. If you don't like rap with bad influence, why don't you put that in your title? Along with every other music genre that hasn't got a good influence on people. Since it's not about the music, or the people, but the influence it has got on others. I could say that there are various bands and songs in the hard rock genre that aren't a good influence on youngsters. I could say that the various musicians outside the rap music genre make profit of their groupies. Or would you deny that? Someone with so much knowledge on the subject must have heard the line "Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n Roll". Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! RayOxide
Take out the rap in your title. Why only hate one type of genre when there are others doing the same? Because this is excessive. Most of the influences come from Rap (My opinion). I don't remember hearing oh so many songs that abuse women, talk about doing drugs, or swearing much more than most rap songs that are rock or metal, etc. I dont need a siggy no moar. Harrington
1) Some can influence young kids into doing drugs and other illegal activites. 2) Some can influence people to swear more, and use disgusting variations of the English language. 3) Some of the songs treat women like they are objects for a man's comfort. Yup, pretty much agree with all of those statements. To add a few of my own... * There's not much originality. Most rap songs I'm familiar with, are ripped from other songs. * Most of it sounds very similar * I believe less talent and ability are required to rap, than to say, play an instrument such as a guitar, thus I give it less respect. RayOxide
Ooh! Harrington agreed with me - FIRST TIME! Ooh! Harrington quoted my text - FIRST TIME IN A GOOD WAY :D I myself like some rap. And some of the new stuff is just garbage Now this is where my 'I don't hate all rap' bit comes in. Most of the rap songs that came out from the original rap days I find were less discriminative, less stereotypical, and alot less influencial.. : I dont need a siggy no moar. hellbellz
Harrington--listen to the lyrics of a song from any famous rapper. Tell me what y ou think after you listen to what they had to say "back in the day". Now-a-days every rapper says the same lines over and over again trying to create the new Mocarana.
