  • Thank you for bumping a six year old thread :-)

  • If there was no G.E. I'd literally wouldn't be playing right now. I hate fake difficulty and wasting time to get stuff you should have fast access to is just that.

  • holy [bleep]ing necro, Batman.     With that said: The G.E. is the greatest thing that ever happened to anyone who ever spent 30 minutes trying to log into W2.

you are on the demo of the game, be happy that its even a f2p update which you dont deserve lol.

To be honest that was completely uncalled for, kinda disappointing to see slur like that coming from such a high level player...

On-topic:

Con: some prices are a little bit funky

Pro: almost everything else, particularly i hated standing in w1 for ages

Not dissapointing at all. Don't say "this isn't good" if you don't even pay for it.

Not playing RS has shown me all those members have such a large, valid point.

Currently: Quit Ages Ago

autoers / gold farmers reprogram their macros / instructions...

now you can see them walking into the grand exchange once for a while...

an explanation used in another thread of why stuff go down in price after the grand exchange

Pros: Mostly what everyone are saying + All sellers are now in one place (yeah, I think of that as a con)

Con: No browsing of offers.

Owner of Quest Cape since 11/9/2007 23:30! Working my butt off to get it back.

I think the economics for runescape is quite different in real life.

Which real market actually sells items at a higher price (each) when you buy more of it. But then again this is only a small detail.

With the GE there is also some sort of a price control. The prices are pegged to whatever Jagex places, even the general shop prices decreases by very small amounts with large quantity ( do they even drop? I'm not sure) Gone are the days when we can buy uncut gems, ores, arrows and the occasional steel pl8s to name a few on the cheap.

Prices are really wierd now, I'm able to buy thousands of coal for 170 and small sellers (less than 200) are selling them for 200ea (All this from traders in faly and not GE, but they were influenced by the GE) Guess we just have to wait for the price to stabilise, so get all the good deals now but dont get ur fingers burnt.

Overall its a great update, more time playing.

Cons

- Botters can macro for even longer while their items sell by themselves.

-Training grounds might get more crowded.

-Merchants would suffer with the narrow range and difficulty in getting a good deal.

Pro: Finally able to buy and sell products that would take hours or days to get rid of.

Con: a) Every third person who has a degree in Econ thinks they can dissect it to a finer point, and complain about it.

B) Every other third person makes a topic about it.

The remaining third actually using it and enjoying it :)

I would have said something like,

A). Every third person thinks they can dissect it to a finer point

B). The other two make a topic about it.

Let's try to keep all discussion about GE pro's and con's in this topic, it fits perfectly fine so we don't have dozens of topics please.

Pro- I do little work

Con- To long to sell and can only sell 2 things at once :(

Yeah, pretty much same here =X

Pro: Easy selling, no more yelling/looking for people to sell to...

Con: Some items are impossible to sell like willow logs, even at lowest possible price :uhh:

Pros: Easy buying/selling, trading with nonmembers. (patience and setting up your agentsstall prior to going to bed are the key)

Cons: Wonder how new items of great value will be integrated in the GE, perhaps at first they wont even be in there until after some time when Jagex has guaged the market value from trades.

That annoying tune that plays everytime something happens, whether you buy or sell even 1 tiny item in 1000s.

He just successfully trolled you with "courtesy" and managed to get a reaction out of you. Lol

it being annonymous i can no longer filter my trades via their policies on gun control.

i could see that developing even further, but i wont explain how or what it would be come.

After doing some adjusting I have to say the following about GE.

#1. Did I say it or did I say it! Price decrease accross the board, just like I said it would happen, so anyone who listened good for you not losing your $ :)

#2. I love GE. Not because of GE itself, but because merchanting right infront of GE is even ebtter now. People get so upset with their stuff not selling on GE that they practicaly throw away their items (not literaly, but sell for cheap)

Best place to merchant now is.... at GE :) I guess thats what happens when you put draconian restrictions on something, you drive the people away.

Lastly, I love GE because all my rares are that more valuable now. Thank you Jagex for GE, for my wonderful rares, and for the new crazy rate at which its possible to buy supplys :)

Cons:

GE destroys profit in skilling,
GE removes time and resouce management.
GE destroys unique skilling (fishing cod, making quest kits for quests)
GE causes price manipulation.
GE is easyscape.

Pros:

GE makes stuff easy to buy. but thats kind of a con cause it make the game pointless and easyscape

Thank you for bumping a six year old thread :-)

a game is too easy because you can buy what you need rather than spend hours on forums or looking through mass spam to buy/sell items, instead of, ya know, playing the game . . .

baileydafrog.png

I agree, it did make everything involving buying and selling easier.

It also removed the need for merchanting skills in order to buy things cheaply and totally changed how merchanting was done.

If there was no G.E. I'd literally wouldn't be playing right now. I hate fake difficulty and wasting time to get stuff you should have fast access to is just that.

Pros: Rip everyone off/manip/merch

Yeah it's much better than buying r scimmy 25k selling r scimmy 30k

I can also hoard millions upon millions of items and then crash the market.

Spending time to get into the world and to buy or sell what you needed to do was frustrating yes, but it rewarded those who were skilled in the matter. Rather than with the GE where you can dump all your money in to get what you want with no effort.
