Mechscapes logo looks the better of the 3, however I find that the RS logo is more original and the other 2 look too similar to present logos (eg. the HEROES one)

btw, anyone realise that the Spiderman 3 and Playstation 3 font look extremely similar? (if not the same)

They're exactly the same. Sony made both the film and the PS, so there's no wrongdoing here.

Of course, what people don't realise is that 'Mechsacpe' came about as the result of a tragic spelling error - in an effort to lure merchants away from RuneScape, they intended to create a game called 'MerchScape' in which players made money by buying and selling items. Unfortunately, the office assistent who typed up the trademark application made a typo, and the rest, as they say, is history!

You're all forgetting one basic fact :

Runescape is a medieval-based fantasy roleplay game... therefore its logo is highly appropriate to that theme. Making it "futuristic" just because some idiots without two braincells to rub together think it would be "cooler" would seriously detract from that theme.

IMO

I think the mechscape and fun orb logos look rather hurried as they're mostly 2D and also both hold the same theme and involve solar eclipses. The 3D runescape logo fits in with the theme of runescape too. It's a fairly based medieval game and the logo shows that with a sword and the stepping/rune stones on which the runescape is carved.

It's not a medieval game, it's high fantasy.

Why don't you take a look at the logos of other fantasy games? They look a lot "cooler" than RuneScape's.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

I said "medieval-based", not medieval. there IS a difference. :wall:

FunOrb is a frickin' ridiculous name. Oh please, Jagex.

Jagex is quite lacking in the graphics department to begin with...

RS is behind, both in terms of its gameplay graphics and its homepage/logo graphics.

The reason Runescape's logo looks... bad compared to the funorb and mechcscape logos, is because it was made years ago, before they started doing a lot of work in making things look really good. Now, they have a team of what are they called... the people who review things and say that yellow is a bad colour for what they are wanting to do? Meh...

Either way, it was created a long time ago, and you DON'T change your logo after it's imprinted.

Yes, Runescape logo may not be as cool, but I find that Mechscape may have a cool logo, but it's lacking in the gameplay department.

P2P forever!... Or at least 'til <insert excuse here> happens
