December 10, 200718 yr dude w/e...there is not a single soul who is happy about this. they can't please everyone, true...but they just proved they can make their whole player-base be displeased. Actully I have a friend who always sucks up to Jagex... he claims that the revenants are good because 'he can't get pked anymore, and they're really rare' He claims that the loss of the old wildy is justified by Bounty Hunter, and he claims that Bounty Hunter is perfectly fine despite the fact that he doesn't want to try it. He claims that Jagex has always been looking to destroy merchanting. His justtification is that 'merchanting is scamming'. He says this because you are actully tricking someone by buying what they sell on the fourms for minimum price. How evil! Apparently, he also thinks hunting revenant monsters is a good source of cash. Needless to say, I disagree with him. But what really gets on my nerves is that this friend is the person that pointed the symbols on the mugs in the summoning dev diarys out to me.. Can be looted to obtain a variable item and reobtain the imp jar. If you are insane, it can instead be exchanged for impling jars from Elnock Inquisitor.
December 10, 200718 yr Jagex eliminates rwt at the cost of their game... Sums it all up. I hope Jagex can feel good about the RWT, they'll need to feel positive for the wave of RS players coming home from school right now, finding out their game is being destroyed.
December 10, 200718 yr I quit Runescape a little under two years ago. As I look back over the period in which I quit, it still amazes me how strict this game has gotten with its rules. The game itself has gotten to a point that its own rules are starting to restrict what this game is all about - having fun. I realize that real world trading is an important issue and that it does cost Jagex alot of money, but I just find it hard to believe that "balanced trades" is the only way to deal with it. Nearly every aspect of the game is going to be affected by this update. Yes, real world trading may be stopped, but I feel the price you waged to prevent them is just too costly a mistake to all the players who play this game honestly.
December 10, 200718 yr Whoaaaa, settle down people. I've been seeing "protests" across the worlds, and even on this own forum, and I feel a need to explain the positive perspectives of this update. I support it. I've been playing since 2001, so I suppose I've had a little history with the game. Has anyone tried bounty hunter yet? I haven't been able to get my hands on extra armor, but it seems like a brilliant idea. It's a wonderful improvement over 1v1 pking, in my opinion. 1. You no longer have to wander through the expanse of the wilderness, hoping to find someone to PK. Now, you're guaranteed to get a chance to fight for items AND still maintain the suspense and uneasiness of the old PKing. Someone's out to get you, or everybody's out to get you! 2. If you PK someone you WILL get items. This seems to be the best part of the new minigame. Now, you can actually make a good profit off of pking. 3. It's fair. Now you cannot be a true "hybrid". You must pick your armor carefully, and the pk triangle is, as a result, more balanced. However, it is true that we have lost "clan" pking. It's gone. However, on the other hand, it was never all that fair to those that were pked. Thankfully, large scale clan wars have been maintained and somewhat improved. Epic battles are still possible, only uninterrupted and more fair now, as members of the other team cannot rejoin once defeated. Secondly, now that we have gravestones, accidental death is going to be a lot less aggravating. It's about time that you shouldn't need to worry about losing anything unless you intentionally take that risk. Finally, I can see that the new trade restrictions may be causing some people a panic attack. I agree-this part just isn't fair for people lootsharing. I propose this: Let Jagex offer a new option for lootshare: Cashshare. If this option is on, the item is randomly given to one of the players to LIST in the GE. Once it is sold (it cannot be taken out by any in the group) the GP is evenly distributed. Simple and fair. I'm going to go post the idea on the suggestions forum. Anyway, give Bounty Hunter a good chance. I'm sure it's going to be a blast.
December 10, 200718 yr Maybe Jagex will go out of business and give us the source code for free... then we could set up private servers with the game functioning the right way. I have a feeling they are trying to palm runescape off so they can focus on their other projects... December 10, 200718 yr Because of the last update, runescape players are about to lose the ability to do many of the things that made the game fun and worth playing. The ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Ånew̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
December 10, 200718 yr You know how amazing my timing is? I was finally getting bored of Runescape, and I had JUST (as of yesterday, Sunday) lost my membership. I reduced my bank to a rare and a few necessary items, and a few members items that would be hard to get back. But now, I don't know if I'll ever be going back. ALL the things people have been saying about how Runescape is being made for kids, hit me in the face today. Before, I didn't care. It was fun and I enjoyed playing it, so what did it matter if they were ruining it? Well now, you can't do anything at all. You can't give friends a hand with money. You can't KQ like normal. You can't do anything the same. A better solution to the whole problem would have been Jagex selling gold on their own instead...
December 10, 200718 yr Most of you don't know who I am, I presume, and if you don't, don't ask, if you do, you shouldn't care, but I must say: I have seen Jagex do similar things to curb autoing, account sales, gold exchange, and other things. (Case and point: removal of runescape classic) Each of them has caused large amounts of legit players to flip 'em the bird and walk off - either permanently or for at least a year. So when people say they will leave, I wouldn't take for granted that they don't sincerely mean it.
December 10, 200718 yr I got a brilliant idea to stop all the RWTs, Autoers, and any other cheater combined with one update! Here it is: Shut down runescape forever. It's just that simple. Save us the time Jagex and demolish this game like we know you will.
December 10, 200718 yr World 99 1212 Players US East 3 Running - Law Runes Members What's the point of semi-official recognition of running companies if you're then going to go and make them impossible?
December 10, 200718 yr Yeah I killed him, full rune !!! 13-21 dds spec - pjed - lumby with a whip and the clothes on your back , brilliant. As if Pking was ever that great. The pking elvemage and people like that did was real pking, but only represented a tiny minority of pking.
December 10, 200718 yr I have to congratulate Jagex on their series of updates. Each update will cause a small portion of devoted runescapers to leave. The dueling arena killed the stakers, the merchants, or at least most of them adapted to the GE, and pkers will leave after today's update. These people bear one common trait. They are not casual gamers. Jagex is quite somewhat intelligent in changing their game so that RWT is virtually eliminated (though i suspect Bounty Hunter will be used on barren worlds to transfer funds), and a major reason players quit is removed. Many people quit when they are cleaned, whether its staking, or dying somewhere. With the tombstones and blessing system, there's a pretty good chance of item retention, and hence better customer retention. I don't like the updates, but I (think I) see the business sense behind it. Dragon Drops- D legs, finally
December 10, 200718 yr Wow.. just wow. I was thinking of coming back for Summoning, but the friendliness of this game has definitely been killed by RWT. Same, I figured that summoning would be worth it. But now I can't even call this RuneScape anymore. It's the not the game we knew and loved. Unlimited staking, pking freely, small little drop partys for achieving something, lending items to friends in need, or just sharing the loot after getting a good item at a boss monster. It's all going to be gone by 2008, just for what? Stopping real world trading that doesn't really effect much of the game? Sure some people do it but there is more honestly players than the ones who break the rules. Why ruin the things people do just to stop one small problem? Some people play to stake money against eachother, others to deathmatch eachother, some to join clans and pk all around the wild, some like merchanting, etc.. when you take them all away to make one part of the game balanced than the other side will fail. There are hundreads of better ideas to stop autoers that don't effect every other aspect of the game. They are just to blind to see it, i'm glad people are standing for what they believe in. If Jagex gets away leaving RuneScape like this than they will easily lose subscribers and future subscriptions. Then it'll be too late, because we'll all be addicted to WoW. It's Jagex's choice, if they get this right I will come back. Quit RuneScape :)

December 10, 200718 yr I personnaly love most parts of this update, the only thing that made me *QUITE* angry is that you soon will be totally unable to be generous. To give stuff to your friends, to host drop partys (The party room does NOT compensate).. This also means I cant use runners anymore.. they would have to pay.. I'm guessing alot of runecrafting companies have been simply deleted from the game... BUT I'm quite happy to see the game rid of these : - Bots, autoers and gold-farmers (They no longuer have a purpose). - Scammers, lurers, looting hackers (I doubt anyone will miss them) I'm also glad that now players cant just start a new account, trade millions to it and totally dominate that level range without any real effort from that account. This was very unfair to other players and I'm glad it's over. Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.
December 11, 200718 yr Maybe Jagex will go out of business and give us the source code for free... then we could set up private servers with the game functioning the right way. I have a feeling they are trying to palm runescape off so they can focus on their other projects... Do you think people are going to want to play Merchscape with VERY CRAPPY rules? Edit: NOOO, [bleep]erkid left. :( I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]
December 11, 200718 yr Runescape as of 2007 has now turned in to Germany when Adolf Hitler ruled it... And we now know the jews in ruenscape are (not saying this racistly) They are the RWT traders, as we all know, the jewish people were used as scapegoats by Hitler. (Hitler being jagex) and hitler basicly blamed everything on them and punished them for it... Rs is basicly loading their own gun pointed at their head... i have 2 words for jagex... IP BAN
December 11, 200718 yr I think the majority of changes made today are fantastic and will benefit the game in the long run. Yes, quite a few of the changes need to be tweaked, and those will likely become a reality in the short term. In the meantime, I'm delighted that sweatshops the world over have just woken up to find themselves out of business hahaha
December 11, 200718 yr If you can't appreciate the new updates, then I am sorry. I am sorry that you can't see it for the greatness that it truly is. You all wanted to rid runescape of RTW's, and you got it. All great feats come with sacrifice. But you don't have to sacrifice playing the game just because you can't pk ( :boohoo: ). Learn to adapt. There are thousands of other things to do. However, the trade cap needs to be raised to at least 100k. 3K is ridiculous, really.

December 11, 200718 yr I don't even PK and I'm pissed. I rarely play now, but still. HOW THE HELL IS THIS SOLVING RWT's?! People still do it, the wilderness had nothing to do with it... Most of the community is gone and it's pointless to play now if everyone is doing one thing and that's not PKing.
