So I snal mailed Jagex..

After the announcement of the January updates, I decided to send in a letter (that doesn't involve computers for all you young kids) to the big J.

 

 

 

I included my username in it, and guess what. They did something I didn't expect! They send me a message vis game inbox. Real class if you ask me.

 

 

 

Here is what my letter said. I typed it out, signed it, and sent it through the mail. Not email.

 

 

 

Jagex Limited, I am a long time player of your game, runescape. With the recent updates made to your game (Dec.10 and January), I support you highly. However, taking out the trading will truly hurt the game in the long run. For every change you have made, I have supported you. However, I only ask that you listen to the players and try to please the players.

 

 

 

Many people I have known who have played since the switch to runescape2 are quitting. Why? Because they feel you don't listen to them. They feel that those who have played for less time then they have played get catered to. Most skills are totally useless AFTER 80. We don't need ways to get 200k xp an hour, because at high levels, it doesn't matter.

 

 

 

I understand how badly you hate real world traders, but please, please Mr. Gower, please don't stab your precious runescape to kill the parasites known as real world traders..

Now, I seriously thought they would resend a letter back to me. They are in the UK, and I'm in the US. The cost isn't anything big, maybe 50 cent, but still. If they do reply via mail, I'll have more respect for them.. Anyway this is what it said:

We aim to make Runescape as enjoyable and challenging as possible for all of our players, whether they are level 25 or level 125. By taking steps to remove Real World Trading from the game we are endeavouring to make the game fair for everyone. We are not preventing our players from trading and we have been listening to all of the feedback that we have received from our players about the updates.

 

 

 

We appreciate all of the constructive comments we have had about the changes we have made, because they help us to decide what changes we need to make in the future.

If it were a formal reply, it wouldn't of been online nor would it simply summarize my letter. They answered no questions..

 

 

 

Hopefuly the snail mail reply will include the answers I require.

First of all, good job writing an actual letter without spewing trash all over it. It's definatly the only way we're going to get anything of a response. (even if you didn't right here)

 

 

 

Secondly, you got a COMPLETE brush off.

 

 

 

That sucks man - and I wouldn't be waiting for a snail mail letter if I were you.

Thanks. I sent another letter to Rareware in Tywcross England. I would suspect I'll recieve the one from Jagex back after that perhaps

I sent them a message actually congratulating them on making great updates against the RWT threat, and still got an automated message.

 

 

 

The automated message didn't even apply to my message. It explained how the updates were necessary, as if I had criticized them.

Someone should go to the Jagex office and talk to the staff in person. If the company disallows visitors, then maybe wait outside until some Jagex staff member comes out?

They WILL NOT sendsnail mail back to you. They specificly state they will only contact you through the ingame inbox system. They do not e-mail, reply to leters with ingame chat, or send physical letters (snail mail).

Automated responses have gone too far; Jagex can no longer accept compliments!
If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

 

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

I once took an hour out of my life to sift through the High Scores and jot down a list of characters with gibberish names and only one ranked skill in the top 500 fishing/woodcutting. I then sent a query, asking why if their system is so advanced, are these people with over 15 million botted experience not banned.

 

 

 

I received an auto-reply that explained how to appeal a ban. Good fight, Jagex. #-o

I apologize, from reading their corporate site I was under the impression they had an office in both Cambridge and in London. And I know that London isn't England lol. And for the record, I am a He. :P

I also keep getting auto-messages... It seems like they have auto-messages for everything. My friend asked them a question about why there was a spelling error in the trade window (or something like that) and the machine probably picked up the word 'trade', 'cause he got a reply basically containing facts about RWT and why Jagex made the changes... #-o

Ggle earth will reveal that Jagex HQ actualy is on saint andrews road. As fro saint andrews house? I guess thats what the buildign they rent is called, maybe thats why they chose the building.
