Do Glasses affect your life seriously?

Glasses never affected me personally. I rarely wear them, which is bad.

 

 

 

Anyway, when you grow up, people start to mature a lot more and (here's the kicker) the people that always use to bag on you start wearing glasses too! Amazing!

 

 

 

I wish I had contacts, it would make my sports life a hell of a lot easier, especially in football since I would shatter my glasses trying to get to the quarterback.

 

 

 

i have contacts.. and it depends whic type you mean mine are gass permiable or "hard" and if i was playing american football (or proper football for that matter :wall: ) they would do more damage than braking my glasses,now soft or "one day" lenses they are different, but they do make life easyer. they dont fog up or fall off, and all that "smarter" stuff is rubbish all that that is is ppl with glasses tend to work harder because they are isolated by all the "4 eyes" stuff..

Contacts, sadly, did seem to make a difference in my life. From the 4th grade to the end of the 8th grade I wore glasses.

 

 

 

I never had those snazzy glasses that people think makes people look intelligent. Mine hid my face (especially my eyes) and would constantly slide off. It's horrible to admit but I believe they actually did have an effect on my self-esteem. Losing them helped me to become more confident and at the same time, helped me to feel comfortable doing sports since I didn't have to worry about those $100 fragile pieces of glass on my face anymore.

 

 

 

On the other hand, I was in middle school (age 11-15). Middle schoolers are known for having low self-esteem and wanting to constantly fit in with others. I think If I had given it a few more years I would have grown out of it.

They don't affect my life, except for the occasional rash from them rubbing on the bridge of my nose. #-o

 

 

 

But I got contacts a while ago, so it's all good.

Cleaning them is a small inconvenience, also when you first get them some people might make a few jokes, but in my experience this ends quickly.

I'm sure it doesn't affect people greatly. Generally I like woman without glasses, but there's some cases where it can make them even more beautiful, especially if they're trying to pull of the 'secretary' look. :P :wink:

I switched to contact lenses almost exactly a year ago. Tons of complements from people saying I look a lot better and even if looks aren't that important, I feel better with the self-confidence. Let's face it, part of the nerd stereotype involves glasses and so you will risk being automatically labeled accordingly.

 

 

 

Of the girls at my school who often switch back and forth between glasses and no glasses I can also tell that they are much more attractive without.

Ironic because in Japan, women with glasses are considered more attractive than women without glasses.

My friends say I look good with or without my glasses, so it doesn't bother me in that aspect.

 

 

 

Now with sports or playing guitar...I hate the damn things. I want them off my face. If I get a ball thrown at my face, I don't need my glasses getting obliterated and me not being able to see well all day. And when I play guitar, I go crazy so yeah. Not cool. :XD:

I've been wearing glasses since the second grade, and the only real problems they have given me were with sports, and with certain activities with girls who also happen to wear glasses, which I wont get into here... But ya, thats what contacts are for :

Only once have I felt that my glasses made me a target, in the park these kids ganged on me. Other times they weigh my eyes down and make me go to sleep in class.

I got glasses about last year, I don't need them entirely but I don't walk around without them. They make seeing easier and everything is clearer so I don't get headaches anymore.

I get complimented on my glasses, but that's about it. I'm glad that we've (mostly) moved on past four-eyes and all that, now that people are beginning to realize that it is in fact the nerds who get somewhere in life and the jocks who fail miserably. (Just kidding, but think about it...) :XD:

I have contacts for important social occasions, and glasses for when I want people to think I am intelligent. They're like all clothes, they can make a difference to how other people perceive you, but they shouldn't change how you perceive yourself.

Glasses are become more fashionable actually, and they do make you look more sophisticated in a way also :)

 

 

 

I wear my glasses on days when I'm too lazy to put on my contacts hehe.
