What do you mean "affect" my life? They make me see, that is all...

I believe he's inquiring about the odd correlation between intelligence and the wearing of glasses, one that occurs even though there's no biological reason for such a thing to happen.

Correct?

Why the hell would anyone treat you different for wearing glasses? They're pretty commonplace.

I wear hearing aids, no one cares. And those are far more unusual to see worn by a teenager than glasses.

I don't wear glasses, but most of the guys at my school who do only wear them occasionally (as most don't fully need them), and most actually look pretty good and sophisticated in them  .

So, can't really say I've got any experiences with glasses being detrimental to one's social status, neither of my own or of anyone else.

I wear contacts now, and I have done for a few years now.

At the time when I switched it was because of what other people used to say, but when you grow up, everyone around you does and they just accept it as another normal thing.

It's also so much easier wearing contacts, for driving, sports & daily life.

I actually wouldn't mind wearing glasses from time to time, I think they look quite smart and well cut.

I think I look more attracting without glasses. And wearing glasses makes me look a little bit older I think. And for some reason with my contact lences on I feel more confident.. <-- thats why I go to clubbing with contacts rather than glasees.. I quess I never really got used to glasses.

Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life.

Actually, they can change your life. Or life options, anyways. You can't be (at least a military) pilot if you wear glasses. That's what did my dad in- that, and the fact he's colorblind :| So, yes, it does, just not day-to-day life.

I've been using contacts for ~3 years, and before that I had used glasses for another 4 years. I'd say there isn't much difference in how people treat you, except at very young ages (7-9). I didn't change to contacts because of what people thought, but because they're harder to lose or scratch.

From personal experiences not really. Of course there's people who joke around with me and call me "4-eyes." Very rarely will anyone will be serious unless they ran out of insults . I also think I look better with glasses then without. I use them for an advantage sometimes as well when someones try to rough house with me I usually say this to them "hey glasses...", then they leave.

Glasses never affected me personally. I rarely wear them, which is bad.

Anyway, when you grow up, people start to mature a lot more and (here's the kicker) the people that always use to bag on you start wearing glasses too! Amazing!

I wish I had contacts, it would make my sports life a hell of a lot easier, especially in football since I would shatter my glasses trying to get to the quarterback.

I have worn glasses for 12 years and I have never been underranked nor insulted for wearing them.

Yeah I know what you mean that's the downside of having glasses and being in sports. Like when I wrestle and trying to see what my coach is trying to show me it's a little hard. I think in football you can have prescription visor when you're in HS football, but very hard to find... correct me if I'm wrong.
