Phantom
Obama is my favorite for the Democratic Party so I am pleased that he won the Iowa Caucus. As for the Republicans, I'm supporting Ron Paul, but my second choice would probably be Mccain then Giuliani :) Click here to help me level! Thanks for the help! cryztalwing
I am not happy that two CFR candidates won in Iowa, but that is expected any way. New Hampshire might be better for Dr. No...

magekillr
i don't care who wins....but here's what i want the next president to do: 1.) give us back our constitutional rights that have been shattered by President Bush. Yesterday i had to renew my college loan for this upcoming spring semester and had to listen to part of the Patriot Act about how if i'm a possible threat that they can get all my information from the bank without my consent. that's bullcrap. 2.) bring universal healthcare to the United States so i don't have to see thousands die, and millions go bankrupt because they can't afford treatment. my insurance policy is great atm as long as i stay in school, and even with a great insurance plan i still have hundreds of dollars in co-pays and medicine (medicine when i need it...i'm not a regular user). if this means paying more in taxes, then so be it...but i don't feel like valuing my money over someone else's life. 3.) have a set plan of what we are to do about energy. gosh i hope Gore runs. 4.) balance the dam budget and start making smart decisions. we really have way too much in the military, but after everything we have done in the Bush administration we kinda need that military because of pissing off so many people...way to go Dubyah =D> so all and all...my most important tallies are going towards those...and heavily on health care/energy. whatever candidate can do that i'm voting for...but i know it won't happen and the debates will be totally useless information. why can't we have real people ask REAL questions and get REAL answers? my question for one is: "Why do i have to pay 10.5% VARYING interest on an EDUCATIONAL loan? Many other countries have their higher schooling paid for them and have around 15% more in taxes than we do (something is not balanced here), and still others have 0% interest educational loans. So why do we have to be so uniquely American when obviously doing so is not fair to the actual citizens?" i think i shall throw my support to Hillary just because if she's in...so is Bill. two for the price of one, and the economy was outstanding under Bill. the least of my worries are the moral issues...though important, i don't feel like they deserve recognition atm. i am against gay marriage and abortion...but i seriously don't care what the candidate's stance is on those if they can do the four above. World_Anonymous
I despise Huckabee so much, that I, as a staunch conservative, would vote Gravel or Kucinich to office over him. Anyways, I like how Tancredo put it, Huckabee's supporters only support him because of his religion, they don't even care about the other issues, and neither does Huckabee, and soon people will begin to care and he will not be able to answer and he will fall very deep, hopefully into a hole he can't get out of. I hope Ron Paul takes NH, but if not I'm hoping for Romney or McCain to sweep it.

superson
I'm really glad Obama won, and how poorly Hilary did. Pretty disappointed about Ron Paul not placing 3rd though. I'm definitely not a fan of Huckabee right now though. Although the thought of any republican other than Paul getting elected pretty much scares me equally. The thought of Ron Paul getting elected scares me more then the thought of any other republican candidate getting elected. In Soviet Russia, glass eats OTers. Alansson Alansson, woo woo woo! indy500fan
Huckabee reminds me of the president in Escape From L.A.. He reminds me of the prime minister in V for Vendetta. That is also the answer to Bari's question about why I am not happy he won, along with the other stuff mentioned in this thread. The guy is a religious nut job. I don't really care a lot for any of the candidates that have a chance of winning this year. Ron Paul for Republicans or Dennis Kunich for Democrats are the only two I would really vote for. I probably wont end up voting in November, unless it looks like Huckabee has a chance of winning in which case I will vote against him (unless it's Clinton). Lenin64
I'm actually glad Obama won. I'd rather have him as a president then Hillary. But, yet, I'm too "young" for politics, being 13 and all. Chances are Clinton will be Obama's VP... :ohnoes: I'm disappointed with Huckabee winning there. Our president should reflect most of America, which is not someone who "wants to take back land for Christ" or put the 10 commandments in the White House. America is a very diverse place, religiously, culurally, ethnically. We certainly shouldn't have someone who puts religion ahead of other things. Defender2516
I will be voting for Obama. There really is nothing I need to say about him, he speaks for himself. Just go look at his video's, I agree pretty much 99% of what he talks about. America needs change, that is 1 thing, every American can agree on! assassin_696
I would vote Obama if I was American. Ron Paul appeals to some of my ideological leanings, but can I really see him as the leader of the free world? No. As for Huckabee, God help us if he's elected. I think Obama would make a good president but it really wont affect me that much because Gordon Brown isnt as much of a suckup as Tony Blair was, and whoever takes power after Brown wont be either. bladeswin
These are my main 3 thoughts. 1. I like that Barack Obama won, he seems like an all around nice guy, somehow he reminds me of JFK. I am glad that Hilary Clinton dindnt win, because to my understanding most of Hilary Clintons reasoning for voting her to the White House is "I am woman, hear me roar". 2. Huckabee pleasantly surprised me. All the political talking heads condemned him for his "Merry Christmas" commercial (though they dont always get stuff right). I guess after all this media coverage saying Huckabee was going to be dead meat now, I guess I started believing it. 3. Looks like its going to be an interesting year in politics, I cant wait to see how this goes. My prediction is that the Democrats win the White House, since a lot of people seem to be hating the Republicans. i r tink tht a11 ppl shud use g00d gr@m3r since g00d gr@m3r is ftw. dsk803
i definetly wanted Huckabee to win republican in Iowa but im pretty sure Romney will win in NH because he is the governor their but i guess we'll have to see, as for Obama winning for the democrats in Iowa i really dont care because cause there are far more Americans who will vote for a white guy over a partial black guy(im not being racious) and therefore if it is Huckabee and Obama who fight it out Huckabee will win. 1_man_army
If you look at it in terms of race then demographically Iowa is one of the worst states for Obama as it's over 90% white but yet he still won it. New Hampshire has a higher ethnic population by percentage as do many other states. I personally don't race is have or will have as much impact on this election as I or anyone else would have thought. That being said I like Barack Obama because he is fundamentally what I look for in a politician - charismatic, smart, and seems to have some deep rooted ideals which appear to reflect my views in many areas. I hope he wins, not for the sake of seeing a black man in the white House but because he is the best candidate He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)

1_man_army
Yeah I didn't know that much about him until I listened to his speech where he confirmed he'd run for the Democratic nomination via the BBC. The speech impressed me which is why I looked up more information about him.
