I gotta tell you, this is pretty weird. Two and a half months is an absolute ton of posts. We've lost a lot of long-standing discussions, as well as long-term events like tourneys (looking at Video Games Consoles here.) Guess we'll just have to start rebuilding everything, but right the first page looks like mass thread necromancy.

 

 

 

On top of that, we're now in phBB3, which is confusing the hell out of me, personally. Just one more change we'll have to get used to, but I'm thinking that it's going to take a while.

 

 

 

EDIT: My avvy changed back to the old one. Kinda puts the whole thing in perspective.

Yep, sure will take a while. I'm glad I save most of my big posts on WordPad. :)

 

 

 

I now tend to use Volconvo for debating. Hopefully TIF returns to its fullest again soon, though!

Bleh, I like the old default skin better than this. Really sucks that so much time and effort that were put into some posts were lost. Blogscape probably suffered the biggest hit from this.

 

 

 

Edit- Noooooooo! The 1000 post count I had has now been knocked down to 837 :(

It took me a while to find the reply button (I was actually looking at a thread without a reply option, ahh well.) I'm worried about my posts though. Gotta make it up!

^ It might have taken the staff a while to give registered users topic-replying permissions.

 

Ok, so I lost more than 700 posts. So what. It's not postcount that matters, it's the quality of given posts.

We'll get over it. This actually looks a little like zetaboards forums now. Which is good because there is no hope of me understanding the coding in it, so I can just ask on tip.it. This kind of hurts my eyes though because i'm used to darker colors.

But why? It's gonna be really hard to get used to the skins and the way the forum is laid out. Quite frankly, it looks worse and it's harder to read the topic titles.

Yep, it feels a little like going in a time machine (not that I'd know how that would be :oops:).

Anyway, one good thing did come of it all.. a push to move onto phpBB3, which i love so far. Once everything is fixed up and looking pretty we'll be better than ever. Personally the only bad thing that happened was losing 5-600 postcount, i feel sorry for those with blogs and long-running threads that got destroyed though.

I'm saying why would we want to move here and not back to where we were or somewhere similar...

It's not that confusing after a while, I just find it's harder to know who created a topic and when stickies end when looking for topics.

Checking out how I look now.... I wonder how long it's gonna take till this train is rolling again like it used to. Sadly gotta say i'm probaply gonna be even more inactive than I used to be now. :(

Change is always a little strange at first and hard to get used to, but we all do. Frankly i'm surprised the forums are back up so quickly given the damage that was done, so I know things aren't ideal at the moment but give the admins a bit of slack, they've been working astonishingly hard over the past few days to try and get things rolling again.

 

 

 

Another forum I used switched to phpBB3 a while ago, and once everything got organised it looked great, much better to read and use. Yes, the content loss is massive, but at least it's not absolute, it can be rebuilt, and a fresh start didn't do anyone any harm now and again.

The skins and general presentation of the forum I'm sure will be fixed once the current bugs and tweaks have been ironed out. This isn't the end result - it doesn't even have the Tip.It logo, and the smilies are all missing. Most importantly, my compass has gone... >:(

Um, different skins? Kind of a duh there...but it does look weird. I had the sub-trail skin, green to bright blue is like wtf. And the whole layout...no bar between stickies and topics is odd, to say the least. But we will perservere and seek to redominate, crushing all who stand in our path!
