So it's been said that *most* random events are getting removed, right? This got me thinking...

 

 

 

What happens to the clothing items you get from certain random events? (and for that matter, mime emotes.)

 

Do they become symbols of people who played before the removal? Or do they become the next holiday rare or what-not? Will they be tradeable (and thus sell for thousands, even millions), or will they rot in that Fancy Dress box forever?

Jagex said they will keep random events that give clothing. End of discussion.

Jagex might just keep the event in only for the people that have not yet gotten the clothing. If you have the full set, you won't get the event.

Besides that, I'd argee with you. The irony is I've never gotten Pious pete or the beekeeper (in fact, I wasn't even aware they still existed.)

 

As for Mchainmail, that could work... Like the Doomsayer for warnings, their could be an Event-Goer that can turn off randoms that give clothing, if and ONLY IF you have the full set. Losing any piece of it automaticly turns that event back on.

 

...But this is General Discussion and not Suggestions...

We'll i would say we still keep some attack randoms... wait a sec... tree spirits...

 

After acessing fairy rings, go to that other dimesion were all is green (forgot name) when you cut a tree there a spirit apparers... maybe the only place spirit trees will live, for EVA!

Things like the Random event clothing eg Cameo, Mime i could do without, they interrupt skilling and you get no worthwhile reward, but things like Pinball, prison pete etc are the ones i like, you get a nice useful reward ;)

 

 

 

Attack Randoms will stay, there there to keep away the bots, silly bots :shame:

They will probably either get rid of or like someone above stated use a Doomsayer like NPC to turn off the Random Events that you wish to not encounter. The latter being the preferred one, as some people may like randoms like the Sandwich Lady ( I know people who collect her sandwiches lol )

Another good point. Now that I think about it, prison pete does give pretty nice rewards. I just get toadflax from him though. Still, I find him incredibly annoying..

I'd totally like it if they removed randoms that give clothing and the clothes become an untradable discontinued item which reflects this generation of Runescape, such as Bunny Ears and Scythe.

 

 

 

The problem I find with randoms is that they come at a time where we, the players dont want them to and its annoying like when I was meleeing a steel dragon awhile ago, the sandwich lady appear and demanded that I talked to her. I couldnt do both and I was teleported to White Wolf Mountain because of that.

 

 

 

What I think is that they should make these old randoms very rare and hire a new team to create new random events (So that players wont rant) that give out newer clothing for the future generation of Runescape. Its all about adaptation..

That sounds like a great idea.

 

 

 

Except for the fact I don't have the mime shirt (or gloves or boots) that I've always wanted (and haven't gotten back)

A possiable route to go could be if you have the clothes already (just one piece) you'll get that random untill you get a set and/or loose a piece so you can get it back. If you don't have a piece form the set/joined after you wont see the randoms, at all, anymore.

 

 

 

That way there is if you ever loose your clothes, you'll always be able to get them back and they'll be a discontinued item.

 

 

 

But, I don't think Jagex would get this complex about something that's just as easy as removing everything at once.

With item lending and Clan Wars being worked on, this project has received slightly less attention.

 

 

 

What we're doing is listing the random events and investigating just how well they are doing their jobs. We plan to then remove those that are no longer successful and give better rewards to those that remain. Now, simple events like the Genie are really quite boringly easy to solve, but people like the Genie because he brings lamps of XP. The frogs, on the other hand, don't offer any useful reward if you've already got their kit.

 

 

 

The plan is to make random events offer a choice of rewards, including coins, gems and other handy items, and maybe a costume item if appropriate. Among the options may be a genie lamp. That way we won't end up discontinuing items or deleting rewards that were popular.

 

 

 

This is in the briefing stage, so the details may change in the final release.

next time molly decides to mug me again, at least i can expect something a bit better after i cater to her whims :P

I certainly do hope they could do away with the graveyard-coffin random.. it come too often too many during a log in :?

They will probably make it so that you can only get the random until you have the full set, then they will stop pestering you. 8-)
