Zierro
The idea of a book based on an online computer game is.......unsettling. Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead with any merchandise that deals with video games. Thank goodness. I thought I was the only one here. :ohnoes:

Omali
The idea of a book based on an online computer game is.......unsettling. Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead with any merchandise that deals with video games. They've done it already with Halo, Resident Evil (I own all 10 of them), Warcraft, and other games. They sell quite well, especially those by S.D. Perry (excellent writer)

Toad
Typical marketing strategy making it limited edition though, and as soon as i saw that i knew there was going to be no update because they want people to see that and think OH EM GEE.. If people saw organised banks theyd go book HA. So update next week? 1 Update in a month, for some relayed textures? some how the increased membership fees has turned from sweet to sour. GHOSTS OF ONYX, the story behind spartan-057 Kurt "Ambrose" and the spartan 3's. MY GOD, best one in my eyes. Contact harvest was really good to but, definately GoO and Fall of Reach. amazing story lines. I was like no not sam, sam was cool as hell. When kurt died I was like, what a true inspiration. Joshua, i felt bad for his death, and grace i thought was such irony. Personally I loved how the Mjolnir amror was only capable for a spartans use. The test marine, i could only imagine what i was like to die that horrible death. also, the best part of the halo series that is amazing to me is when they decide to jump out of something high up. Like MC did in halo 2(1 1/4th miles up) and kelly who thought about it with Dr halsey on onyx.

Dire_Wolf
Even though this is good marketing, to me it's a bit greedy. I mean COME ON! You've made Runescape, it dosen't mean you should make more.... Focus on the game, make it better instead of making additions things to sell.. P.S IF i wanted a good novel, i could always go to Library and get a great book for novels/or a novel book....COMPLETELY FREE. Making a novel based on a game to attract buyers to buy it....is kinda overdoing it for my part.
jackjonson
i dont find anything wrong with them releasing a book, obviously there is interest in it (shown in this thread) and if people want to buy it and enjoy it once they have it, and jagex makes some more money, which they will enjoy, then i see it as a win-win situation. economic transactions do not have to be 1 sided, both parties can benefit! personally, i have enough to read and this one does not interest me too much. maybe a while down the line when i'm strapped on good books i'll think back to runescape and throw in an order, who knows. Instead of being a Novel on sale about Runescape things... They could make "Runescape Stories" on forum, Where players write Stories, novels, tales etc... This would be more appealing: Because Players with good skills in writting writes stories, and players who like stories BECOME MEMBER TO READ THEM +PLAY GAME. Ciabelle
Just put in order #360. Kinda meh on the idea for myself. but hubby is an avid sci-fi/fantasy reader and hopelessly addicted to RS. So this takes care of one Christmas present. And a 1 in 36 chance of a signed copy 1 day past release.. Not too terrible odds and would make the gift all that much sweeter. I remember like two years ago when they said it would be coming out for America soon, that sure happened... They need to come out with a book about before the god wars and during.
