Well, have a bit of an interesting plot twist with no-hug-girl: she ended up texting me last night while I was on my way back home from a party saying she was sorry that ended so awkwardly and she just didn't know what to do because she was awkward and i didn't have to text her back if I didn't want to. I replied saying it was okay and that she was really cool and I'd like to hang out again if she was down. She replied saying she was "leaving the city in morning but if you're home maybe we can" (our hometowns are about 45 minutes away from each other). Drunk me told her I'm here til friday and asked if she was up to anything then, to which she said she was eating ice cream and doing dishes and she wished she was kidding. I took that as an invitation and asked if she wanted to hang out and watch Rushmore (we both had geeked out over Wes Anderson movies on the first date) instead, but it was too late by that point so she said to let her know when I got home. Guess I'll see where this goes when I get home on friday~

brief update on my situation: clarified things more with this girl i'm seeing about "what we are" or whatever. the best way i can seem to define it is as a casual open relationship, but with her appreciating the idea of consistency with one person (read: me). with her recently getting out of a long term relationship and moving to a new place, she's at a time in her life where she wants to be able to just have fun and explore, which i totally can respect. but she's not, like, trying to purposefully go out with multiple guys and play the field. i'm going with the previous advice here of still trying to see other girls while I'm with her though, since i don't wanna get too attached before we part ways later in june.

 

 

i've got friday night plans to see a movie and hang out with this one girl who seems pretty cool and has a lot of shared interests with me. then on saturday it's the birthday of the main girl i'm seeing, so who knows what'll happen then. and on either sunday or monday i'm tentatively planning on hanging out and just like smoking weed or something with this other girl who wanted to hang out with me. she seems kinda uhh grungy/grimy but in kind of a good way? idk. no reason not to hang out with her really.

 

i'm sure i'll update things here as they happen.

So, just as a quick post to compile stuff here so I remember it all.

Small talk while on the date but keep it fun so that even if things don't work out all parties had a good time and there should be no hard feelings.

Minor touching while on date to attempt to establish a baseline but don't make it awkward, light hand touching etc...

Make plans for a second date/meet up by the end of the current established one if possible.

Based on above. Get phone number if things go well and text person within the next 24 hours or at least touch base and make contact in some way in that time period.

Ensure second date via text/contact before it occurs to make sure no cold feet/caught up in the moment stuff happened.

I've gotten plenty of dates off Tinder but I haven't actually gotten laid from Tinder yet D: Which is funny because I'm doing everything "by the books" on my Tinder dates yet no girl wants to meet up for a 2nd date.

 

This suggests that the best way to use Tinder is to go into it with first date sex in mind (as opposed to aiming for sex on the 2nd or 3rd date). All the people I know who get laid via Tinder either invite the girls straight over to their place and unmatch if they decline, or they meet up at a bar and then go back to their place shortly after to bang on the first date.

 

The limited number of swipes didn't really change anything AFAIK. I haven't matched with a single fake profile/bot since that update so that's a nice bonus.
