"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice

Crap...might have blown it with the new girl. I'll see if I can get her in a group of people tomorow night so I can re-open. The curse of the ex strikes again [being caught at a concert with her might not have been my best decision]. But...she seemed to have interest in me last week, no use thinking it can't be re-kindled a bit. I definiatly need my ex out of my life. Like. Now. before this crap gets over everyone's head.

and stop [bleep]ing her for starters.

She's a tool meant to be used at this point. A broken down, cheap 5-pence tool.

Yeah but how are women going to see that? seeing him (not physically mind you) screwing his abusive messed up cheating ex just for guilty pleasure. They'll think that they'll be used the same way.

I don't think he's guilty for anything but being a bit masochistic. If anything, she abused him, and quite badly at that.

The only thing I could think of that would possibly repel women, is his "wish of death", as in, keep going there despite the scars and bruises.

That's the other half I failed at explaining. |:

  • Obviously you ask her to come with you. Drive with her to the steepest mountain. Put her in the backpack and spend a week climbing the mountain. You will drink the rain and you will eat like a bear. B

  • Okay so I'm pretty confident at least 2 of you remember me and maybe .5 of you remember how my last post went. To recap, I went on the first date of my life and then a second one that went poorly.   T

I have a bit of a question for your guys. My apologies if it's something that's already been covered extensively; my lurking of this thread has been a bit on and off.

There is a girl that I like a bit, and I'm taking her to a bonsai exhibit tomorrow, after which I was going to get cupcakes from an amazing cupcake shop nearby. This is the third time I've been out with her alone, but for the previous two I wasn't quite sure how I felt about her so I didn't take much consideration of my actions. I'm a fairly confident person socially so it's not so much an issue of how to have an enjoyable time as it is how to get her to not friend-zone me. It's obvious she likes my company, as I figure she wouldn't be spending time with me otherwise, but I have something of a history of being "just friends" with a lot of girls, so it's something I'd like to try and avoid this time around.

I've been working on taking control of the situation to somewhat assert confidence, but that's all I can think of. So, aside from that, any advice on how to avoid being viewed as just a friend?

Cool.

My advice:

-Try not to wear dark shirt with dark jeans. I personally like to stay away from dark jeans as much as possible.

-Lose that orange thing you have in your wrist. What is it anyways?

-If you like wearing T-shirts grab some that have funny lines, cool designs, city/state sports team logos, etc. Basically something more noticeable and/or catchy.

-I see you don't have a watch. If you don't have a cell phone, then I suggest you get a watch. Try to stay away from anything too flashy or bulky. Whatever you do don't buy gold watch (fake or otherwise).

-Don't be afraid to try colors outside your comfort zone.

Edit: I meant to ask you what kind of group you are most interested in since that can greatly affect you attire.

Really just looks like everything everyone else wears. Won't get you noticed, in a good way or bad way. Dark jeans are good, but I'm not big on actual black jeans. Think indigo. A good watch would be nice, too, but you're only 17, so not a huge deal. A bracelet's okay, if it's got a good story.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Lol you need a haircut too, and god you're skinny.

If you're going to wear jeans that dark, I'd suggest wearing a t-shirt that is lighter (can be the same colour, just make it a lighter shade), unless you intend to cover it up with a shirt.

I personally think you should grow your hair longer, but get rid of that curly [cabbage]. If you want short hair, eat more and fill your face out a bit.

Wear things that don't actually have a use. Piercings, bracelet, necklace etc

Get a silver watch

Shoes?

Belt?

Teeth?

I recommend tea tree oil gel for the pimples, when it's only a couple like that they clear up pretty fast for me.

Dark shirt with darker jeans?

Tee shirts to concerts are fine, but get some button ups. Brown would suit you imo. Just stay away from something that looks like would be worn at an office, find an interesting pattern.

Not a fan of that style of shirt - everyone wears [cabbage] like that, get something more interesting.

Someone recommended funny shirts. Which I gather is something like a headless guy with 'need head' underneath. Those kinds of shirts are only funny to other guys. With most girls you might as well wear socks with sandals.

It's kind of hard to tell you what to wear without a specific style to start with, so I'm going to make two outfits. Pick.

Classy/Casual

ASOS White V-Neck tee (tuck it into your pants in front, let it come out where your jean pockets start, allows to show the belt)

Four Star Ramsey Cardigan (wear it open)

Indigo Levi's 511 (get another fit if you don't like it or whatever)

Reiss Brown Oxford (You can find a less expensive pair, this is just an example. Find a matching belt. Good luck, I've been all around town looking and I haven't found one. My shoes are the same color.)

Ben Sherman Red Large Scale Gingham scarf

Casual:

ASOS Leather Jacket (30 pounds, better cop)

Mango Gray V-Neck Tee (tucked in all the way if your jacket's closed, tucked in front if open)

Jack&Jones White Leather Belt

ASOS Overdyed Slim Jeans

Supra All White Hi-Top

I tried to keep it inexpensive.

Four Star Ramsey Cardigan (I have it, bought for 90$. It's my favourite top.)

I'll continue later. I have homework to do.

Definitely yes on the shirt and Cardigan, maybe on the shoes, but not the scarf.

Shirt wise, never buy too many phrase ones. my drawers are choc-full of them and it makes going out a pain in the arse when you want to be taken serious.

Popoto.~<3

Get a buzz cut, well not even a full on buzz cut. Get it trimmed, I'd say one inch maximum. It looks really scruffy in the picture, I don't think the long hair suits you as well as a closer cut would. The curls on it make it look kind of nasty... My current haircut is a bit longer in the front but buzzed on the sides. Myself , not sure how well you can see it but it was the best picture I have post haircut :P

Stuff along this line would look good with the jeans

Long sleeve Blue

Casual shirts

Make sure that what you wear fits you though. None of the gigantic shirts that are way too big for you, yet at the same time none of the shirts that are so tight they show off your belly or your man boobs or anything like that. The shirt you're wearing in the picture looks pretty good. Throw one of the shirts above over that and you'll look pretty fly. Throw on a black/brown belt (depending upon your shoes) and you're good to go. You also seem like you're pretty tall, so I'd recommend straying from vertical lined shirts and more toward horizontal or cross hatched shirts.

Shoe wise, if you're looking at a concert(and I'm thinking of a more rock/rap/hip hop concert) I'd go with some converse(black of the light blue) or vans(probably more towards a black color). If it's a night out on the town(or a more formal concert like Jazz or vocal). IIf it's a night out on the town I'd go with some Boat Shoes. . They're not too dressy, but at the same time not trashy. First thing women notice are the shoes.

Do the frontal shirt tuck thing someone mentioned above too. It makes the belt stand out better.

Definitely yes on the shirt and Cardigan, maybe on the shoes, but not the scarf.

I didn't have any accessory ideas.

I disagree with Scorched, a buzz cut would accentuate your skinny face. Invest in a quality straightener. And that t-shirt you're wearing on the picture is really, really bad. Prime example of a bad tee design.

Theres a kid at my school that looks really close to RPG, same hairstyle and everything. Looks so. effing. bad. He used to get a buzz and looked fine. Rpg makes the long hair work better though.

What did I get myself into?

As I said earlier, I went on a date with a girl a monthish ago, all went well, next thing you know she's my girlfriend. We told each other we were in love. And now I realize that's not the case, absolutely not. All I like is the attention/her breasts. That's all. She's really really into me. So I have two options:

1) Break up with her right now. It's going to hurt her.

2) Stick it out to see if she doesn't grow on me, I can't really see that happening. The more I wait, the more it's going to hurt her.

Break up with her. Gently.

I can often be a self-deprecating [wagon], but it can make others feel better about themselves. So, what I would do is: force her to break up with you by acting like a complete dip[cabbage]. That way, she isn't all hurt by you (until she finds out you acted differently to get her to break up with you) and you can be single again. It's like those wacky sitcoms! Or, you can be a man and just end it. I like the first option more.

Remember: The ideal boyfriend is someone who is proficient in listening, communication, and compromise. Be proficient in none of these things. Studies have shown the best way to feign interest in what a chick is saying is to silently nod your head to "My Sharona."

What they said. I was in the same situation a while ago... Waiting's only going to hurt her more. Just do it gently, don't be an [wagon] about it.

It doesn't seem like the most mature way to handle it. And it drags the relations on pointlessly.

He should probably just end it politely and try to do it with as little harm as possible on her side.

Bad news; the girl I was going to ask out said she only wants to be friends, after all that :/

2257AD.TUMBLR.COM

Yeah, I wouldn't follow Lent's example, that isn't generally going to help you in the long run. Just tell her straight up that yuo don't like her as much as you thought you did. Dragging it out just becomes a pain. Straight up may be hard, but it's really the best way.

That will just get him a bad reputation amongst the girl's friends.. and if she really likes him, acting like a moron can hurt her...
