August 8, 200817 yr well, for me what keeps me going is all my friends. even though most of them have quit, i still manage to make new ones on and off runescape. also whats keeps me on is this, it's just brilliant isn't it? the old graphics were not as detailed as games such as WoW etc etc, but yet people still joined, still played. really the only thing i could quit runescape for is if they made it a single player, lol : but that'll never happen... right? :ohnoes: :o  Capn MJ O_o - Captain of "Lol" Clan.
August 8, 200817 yr when all compurers become evil and start atacking me ill stop That always happens to me, you just have to kick them and make sure that they don't eat your feet. I've quit a few times, and always because things have came up in my life that take up a lot of time. That's pretty much it I guess, I'd quit if I didn't have the time to play it.
August 8, 200817 yr When they change the majority of how I played with PKing and staking, as well as make a balanced trade rule.. Oh wait.. : |Msg me me in-game | IrreIephant| ^ capital i
August 8, 200817 yr Being introduced to World of Warcraft did the trick for me... Well, I didn't really quit 'Scape, but I sure don't play nearly as much as I used to.
August 8, 200817 yr for whatever reason, no matter what happens the maximum i can quit for is a month, then i get withdrawal and have to go back to it. god must be a builder. his original quote said six days, he didnt finish on time, he buggered off, didnt make a good job of it in the first place, and he still hasnt finished.
August 8, 200817 yr When Death comes 2 take me :P Or if something I treasure a lot is at risk [hide=Funny Quote]Cbow! Cbow!!!!! +120 range is orgasmic. Or maul, thats what I'd get out of those two options.I agree with baconisbacon, Cbow looks freaking sensualRunescape: Where strong weapons bring sexual pleasure. The size of the e-peen0r is directly proportional to the rarity/power of one's equipment.[/hide]
August 8, 200817 yr When it totally shuts down. I don't think I'll ever totally quit due to the fact it just has lots of things left for me to do in. I have taken long breaks but never quit 100%. Idk we'll see maybe as I advance up the educational ladder I'll have no time for RS. August 8, 200817 yr For it to shut down, I cancelled my members while at uni but got it back during the summer (I refuse to play f2p =p). If I cam back after that, then that basically says it all. I've never really liked stopping playign a game being referred to as quitting though, it's not something we have to do.
August 8, 200817 yr I'll tell you from true experience (I quit) Finally realizing you got better things to do. But dude, I'm serious. I know how generic that sounds but I just didn't have time to play runescape anymore, and when I did, I'd rather be at the beach, or enjoying the time off school Runescaper since June 2005Blog
August 8, 200817 yr Well what keeps me going is almost definetly my friends & the tip.it community. Goals and Things like Monsterhunting keep me interested and the fact that i still haven't completed my very longtime goal. But what would take me to quit... That is a very hard question for me to answer because afew years ago i got scammed out of maybe 70-80% of my bank value And i didnt quit. So that makes me doubt id quit because of scamming. What would really make me almost definetly quit would be somhow loosing all my friends. I would be gone in an instant. I play this game with alot of people who make it fun for me, If they're not here then this game is very boring for me.
August 9, 200817 yr When runescape becomes stupid. Which it has, which is why I haven't played for a year. I'm just browsing totally random forums on a list of forums I have out of boredom, which is why I'm even posting on tip.it.
August 9, 200817 yr I will quit Runescape when Celestrana posts on this thread, but until then, I can't resist.
August 9, 200817 yr I've thought a bit in the past about what would make me quit RuneScape. Seemed to me the main reasons would be: [*:1vmesymq]Something came up in my life, like a new job with a lot more hours or a lot more call on my mind; or [*:1vmesymq]Jagex completely removed PvP, the element of the game that got me interested in RuneScape in the first place; or [*:1vmesymq]Jagex announced that they wouldn't be updating the game any more; or [*:1vmesymq]Jagex confined your character to a specific subset of worlds, thus fragmenting and ruining the economy. (As many experienced players know, the fact you can log your char in & trade on any world makes the RuneScape economy work much better than most other MMORPGs.) Now, if when I've maxxed my main character and still can't do any good at PvP, I might try making different kinds of pures for the lower-level craters (never tried it); that wouldn't take very long. If I can't do any good with those, I might conclude that PvP is dead and give up. No doubt there are other things that Jagex, given their record of not reversing a policy change once made, could do that would irreversibly break the game in my eyes. However, they seem a fairly sensible sort of company, and I understand its creator Andrew Gower is still in charge, so I am not expecting anything like that.
August 9, 200817 yr getting a gf at my age wouldn't make me quit. if i wanted to get better grades, i improvise and stay off the computer until my studies are done. if i was hacked, that just means i have to start new goals. nothing aside from my account being banned would make me quit. :) Sums it up well. Only getting banned would fully shut me out, other things would just make me have to sort out my priorities Arcanists has done a nice job keeping me off RS though  There's cake through here, apparently.
August 9, 200817 yr Taking away PK'ing pretty much did it for me. :-# Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651
August 9, 200817 yr getting rid of free speech, [that includes me getting a perm mute], or my acct being banned [cba'd to make a new one] I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come
August 9, 200817 yr "at least i am not an over weight child watching tv all day" you just described my little sister and all ehr friends perfectly. every kid in my sisters elementary school is a chubby little kid, and they all just sit around and watch tv. my sister rarely goes outside.
August 9, 200817 yr I quit because I got interested in another game, which eventually led to me getting tired of Runescape. When a game is no fun anymore, then there's not much point playing! Quit RS 2005 | RSN: JohnalderBack as of 5/7/2008!Dragon Drops: x1 Med, x5 Legs, x4 Skirts, x25 Boots, x1 Visage | x7 Abyssal Whips
August 9, 200817 yr quitting is one thing, gradually lowering the amount of time i spend in-game whenever i'm not having fun ingame is probably more accurate. "quitting" to me means playing less than 2 hours a week (just warring, hanging with comunity or trying new updates, something along those lines, not activly playing to achieve something ingame) lack of interest has to be what has put me below 2 hours a week. muted or banning won't happen unless you break the jagex rules, so that would be a personal choice, risking your acc by breaking the rules...
August 9, 200817 yr Hmm, i play it for the hope id learn something new. I also play it for relaxation and joyment! I don't really take the game 'seriously' as many of my mates do. I put family/work first, easily. If i was to quit, it would be if i found something MUCH better to do or if i got permanently banned.
August 10, 200817 yr if i had less than 10hrs of real life time to play this game a week i probably would be "quit" or taking a break because if i only had 1 hr in a half a day then i wouldnt feel like i was making any progress in my goals and would rather watch tv or something. i would take a break until i had more time nothing could make me quit for good unless i do something insanely dumb like get pregnant or get sent to jail
August 10, 200817 yr I quit after I lost like 70m during a period of time. I <3 Gears of War 2. Add me on Xbox Live and mention you are from Tif :D
