I'm in my dorm. Finding it hard to get along with flatmates as I'm not a very outgoing person. I went out my comfort zone to speak to them but I'm struggling now.

I'm also just hanging out in my dorm right now. Third night. The past few days have been pretty hectic, but I'm finally starting to settle in. My roommate is a dude from China.

I hate loud people in the dorms. Luckily it hasn't been TOO bad. Earplugs help a lot.

Thankfully I have a single room with an ensuite. Just sharing the kitchen. 3 flatmates and 1 loud girl from the flat over were being loud at 4am and 7am which isn't nice. Earplugs are my next investment along with some pills for a headache.

Hi guys, I'm back. Got back from my eurotrip on Wednesday and it was such an amazing experience. I won't say much about Amsterdam, except that it's a bit blurry. Berlin was a beautiful city with a lot of sights to see (after 4 days we still hadn't seen everything) and with a vibrant nightlife. Prague is a wonderful city, was my personal favourite. We met a local there who showed us two amazing places to eat, and we went to a crazy club one night after sharing a bottle of absinth. It's a special drink, absinth, gets you drunk in a completely different way if drunk by its own. Combined with other alcohols it just gets you drunk. Vienna was a nice city as well, but coming from Prague it was kind of underwhelming. We did visit a lot of churches there, which was a nice change of pace from the constant walking around. Bratislava was much more beautiful than I expected, but it was really small as well. One night there we met a bunch of Irishmen there who happened to have their room in the hostel right beside us, and they showed us their Irish way of drinking: mixing all the bottles of liquor on the table into one disgusting drink that gets you [bleep]ed up. So much more happened on the trip but I don't want to bore you all with a whole book of a post.

The last two days I was at a small festival about 20 mins from here. It was great to go there right after that long trip, because it was a good opportunity to see a lot of people back that I hadn't seen in a while.

As I am writing this, I am in Dubai airport. This place is unbelievable. Prices are [bleep]ed up. Everything is freaking expensive. And wifi is shit.

Luckily, leaving towards Jakarta in just 4 hours.

I'm pretty sure all airports are like that, I think it's international law.

Also, I love the blame Canada song. So very good.

Oh, and apparently Buffy the Vampire Slayer is very much my new TV show. I shouldn't be allowed to have a new show when there are already multiple seasons of it available on Netflix. I wasn't really expecting to find the girl from American Pie to be in it (Alyson Hannigan), or Seth Green (everything, apparently), but I like both of them so that works out quite nicely. And to think this all got started because I had to watch an episode for English class.

I swear to god, I legitimately found one of these self generating information loops. I'm doing a research paper on arts education, and every source but one I've used so far has claimed a "meticulously researched premise -- that students flourish when creativity drives learning" at a minimum of twice in some form or another. I have yet to see any form of this supposed research, even just something with numbers that suggests there's maybe a correlation between artistic education and critical thinking, let alone anything definitively proving causality.

And it's [bleep]ing pissing me off because I feel like this is true, but there's nowhere I can say "see look, this is proven!" Just places I can say, "see look, this biased dude agrees with me!"

My skin is finally getting soft
I'll scrub until the damn thing comes off

It is not the international rule. Tallinn airport has awesome wifi and relatively cheap shops. Helsinki airport has awesome wifi. Hell, even Jakarta airport had a pretty great wifi.

Right now in a hotel in Jakarta...

Any airport in Canada or the US I've ever been in has been like that (horrible Wi-Fi, overpriced shops, etc). Maybe it's just a North America thing.

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

Yeah, don't fly to North America then. I'm not sure about the wifi because I bring movies and books with me, but there is something about having all your customers trapped (unless they want to go through security again) that just encourages those merchants to add a little extra padding to the prices. It's like buying beer at a concert.

I don't think the place has anything to do with it. For instance, Montreal Airport had awesome wifi and expensive prices, but the airport in Paris (France) had almost no wifi and you had to pay for it, and prices were higher than Montreal.

Those days at university when you're sat thinking, "Before I came here, I had a job. It didn't pay very well, but I was pretty happy with it and life in general. Especially on pay day... why the fridge did I give that up to go to uni, be stressed all the time and have no money to play with at the end of it?"

Because you wanted the option to have something else down the line?

In the long term you'll make more money. Which is the reason for doing a lot of things. Short term inconvenience for long term benefit.

Or so we hope. I will be endlessly mad if I don't get a good job after I get my MA

College has gone along well for the most part so far. Lots of new experiences and changes. My classes start up tomorrow.

Shit man. I'm on what, my fifth week of class? Why such a late start?

Sleepy Hallow isn't bad. It's nice how they embrace how crazy the story is. I was also impressed with Blacklist. Brooklyn Nine-Nine had a good premiere but I didn't notice myself laughing out load as much during it's second episode (I'm also fighting a cold this time around so I wasn't as invested in the ep). SHIELD played like a corny 60s sitcom. Fox's Dads also blew. Hostage looked like it's going to turn into a primetime soap opera as it tried to cover ever emotional angle.
