There is a positive correlation between how much stats homework I get and how much I hate my life.

Went to a nightclub last night for the first time with the flatmates. Lost them the moment I stepped in but found my cousin and danced with his block for 4 hours. I would quite like clubbing if there wasn't so many taller people stepping into me.

 

College has gone along well for the most part so far. Lots of new experiences and changes. My classes start up tomorrow.

Where/what are you studying?

 

University of Minnesota studying Poly sci and global studies.

They always try to overwhelm freshmen with a lot of assignments and lectures. Just hang in there and you will be fine.

I started university this week as well. Now I'm finally home again after a nice first week. It feels ages ago since I've been here, I think I only slept one night here in all of September.

Spent my morning having a battle with my computer over formatting. Ah, the joys of essays. As a result, I missed two classes and now have open office again (because word 2010 basic doesn't do footnotes), but I got it all sorted out in time. This is why you really go through the formatting the night before, rather than looking at it the day of and realizing you were obviously not awake when you decided to put sources in a freaking footer (bad idea). On the emotional upside, I somehow got an 8.5 out of 10 on my 10 minute essay (1/5th of what would be the midterm, done every other week), which is more than I expected since to me it felt like I started grasping at straws about halfway through. Glad to get it though, they get harder the more material we have covered.

 

Feeling pretty good about English Class right now. My only issue is that nothing is big points (highest value anything has is 30%, which is the final), which is nice, but also bad because there are lots of little things, which to me seems like more opportunities to whittle down your grade with the little stuff. I guess it all averages out to the same place though, so for now I am going to be happy before I get to the research paper, because research is really not my deal.

I started bookkeeping again today, might get a better handle on how much I make and spend. I'm surprised I still remember basic accounting, then again, it's not too hard.

 

I've also decided to pick up drawing again, going to buy myself one of those drawing tablets for the computer. Even if I loose interest in drawing again, I could make maps with it...something I STILL like doing after all these years. :razz:

Yesterday, got one thing off my bucket list. I finally climbed a volcano. And also set my personal height record at 3742 metres. Was quite a climb. And got me a terrible sunburn. And my muscles are all sore now...

My friends got me drunk to the point where I thought chugging everclear (196 proof) would sober me up. I headed butted my friend and ended up puking (go figure). Dry ice is very fun to play with. I held myself fairly well that night though. Kinda. For having eaten nothing all day and smoked like 3 grams.

 

No shame. 10/10 would do again. Morning HURT though.

 

Oh and I looked at my gut just now and ew. I used to have a six pack. Turns out beer and bar food is like the anti six pack. I need to join a gym or something.
