I did know a guy who practiced drums on biscuit tins, so I won't hate. :razz:

Because of all this drum talk, I've started playing Guitar Hero again... on drums. Feel free to hate, 'cause if we hadn't bought all those GH games, we'd have money for a drum kit and prolly a bass and an amp...

 

Seriously: $100 for GH3+2guitars, $50 for GH5, $100 for GH4+band kit, $10 for Aerosmith, $0 for Van Halen... Alright, so no bass, but you could get a cheapish kit.

 

And my driver's license came in the mail today, it's only been like a week and they said 2-3 weeks. Except there's some sticky gunk stuck to the back of it because of how they stuck it to the paper. But it doesn't matter because I don't need the barcode anyway... When it expires I have to get a new one, because under-21s have vertical licenses.

 

And I signed up for a free Dew wristband; if you become a fan on Facebook, the Mountain Dew people will send you a wristband (in 8-12 weeks :P) if you ask for it before 6pm EST today. Apparently they're only shipping to the US though. So I figure I'll get it, go 'WTF?', and think, w00t, early Christmas present!

woke up 30 minutes late to work, called the boss, lied and blamed it on the bus

GHWT is actually decent drumming pratice. Not near as good as real life drums, but a start. Only on expert though.

(I'm not kidding. The drum beat for, say, billie jean on GHWT is identical to how you would play it in real life. I was able to play expert drums the first time I played, and probally only because I play a real drum kit)

 

And I air drum all the time. It's the only way for me to pratice right now, so i guess it's better then nothing.

Damn it, my one-month-old Xbox 360 is broken. :wall: Granted it was a used system, but it won't read any discs. On the bright side, I actually bought a warranty. And I never buy warranties.

Around 4 or 5 years.

I am trying to think of a storyline for an RPG I am working on. I just want to get a basic storyline down. I can come up with character names and the names of locations later on.

 

I don;t want to do a "Save the princess" type thing. I want to come up with something completely original. I am thinking about mixing Sci-Fi with Medieval.

 

My first idea is a plot in which your parents send you in a ship to escape the Earth before a solar flare destroys it. You and many others are on this ship in cryostat chambers. You end up getting pulled into a black-hole which takes you back into the medieval times only with an alternate reality twist.

 

 

After I get the basic story down, I can get back to working on the Game Framework.

 

Here is a basic outline of my game framework

 

I plan on getting the graphics and scripting engine done by myself before I recruit some help from some friends for audio and graphical work.

Hopefully in a month I will have something to demonstrate.

 

I have this written in Java, but I may attempt it in c++ to improve my skills and become a better programmer.

I prefer to pre-occupy myself with my hobbies rather than worry about what "normal" people my age are doing.

 

I feel like a d*** saying this and I'm not saying your problems don't matter (because from what I've read, they do) but it sounds like you've got your priorities mixed up. You've got trouble at home and you're worrying about this? It's not really that big of a deal. I'd concentrate on sorting out your current situation before focusing on this. If you're having problems of your scale, then a girlfriend is most likely not a very good idea as of right now.

Not done much today. Did a little bit of work on the illustration I'm getting paid for.

Last year a friend and I tried to do something like this, only in Flash. The story was excellent and we could have easily found a good artist, but it was just too much for me.

 

Speaking of Flash, I had a random burst of inspiration yesterday. Out of nowhere an idea popped into my head, so I scribbled it down so I wouldn't forget it in the next few seconds (it's happened before) and now I'm working on it. I don't really expect it to be too hard to make.

Ahh where did the maze go to? It was great. When I was young I used to try to make up a story to go with it.

I remember just sitting there watching it, waiting to get out of the maze.

I also made some pizza with a friend. I love pastrami.

I ended up listening to the Portal soundtrack while searching for grapes to make some wine on RS, took up quite some time...

I'm still alive.

You've got bigger problems to solve before this if your previous posts are indicative of anything. Hell, I'm 18 and I've never had a girlfriend, so you don't have the worst sex life in existence. I don't even know why either. I'm honestly a good guy, I just don't know why I can't ever seem to get any relationships going. Oh well...

Nothing going on today. I cleaned my computer out a little. So yeah... kinda bored today. Hoping to go to a movie tomorrow.

Went to a laser tag place (2nd place out of about twenty 10 year olds, booyah) then went to like three different pawn shops.

 

When I get my license by next summer I've discovered the best plan ever. Go onto the 'Free' section of Craigslist, find a person that's giving away something big and preferably metallic or plastic-based for free, drive there with my friend, take it, find an empty lot, and smash it with sledgehammers. :thumbup:
