I am beyond livid at this point. As I'm sure at least one person is aware, I sold my ipod recently on Ebay. They filed a claim saying the audio doesn't work. Calling [cabbage], yet ebay still sided with them. I got the ipod back. They replaced the external speaker with plastic. The majority of the epicness of the ipod is [bleep]ing ruined now. I am taking vengeance on ebay, will post later with an update.

I mean to be honest, I do. Violence is never ok. Now this is not to say I never have violent thoughts, or reactions, hell, I'm a violent person. But that doesn't excuse what the Panthers did.

Changing the topic here, has anyone ever used "Steam" before? It's a program for PC, and I need it to install my game. But, whenever I open it, it insta-crashes. Any advice?

Steam is awesome, never had any problems with it.

Sometimes Steam will have its moments for me, but its very reliable.

Why its crashing, I have no idea.

Today, my counselor told me he screwed up my credits. Last year, he told me I was completely done with English, and now he's telling me I have to take a another writing intensive English class to graduate. That also means I can't take the Chemistry class that's required to apply to MIT and Stanford.

Also, I emailed my math teacher a teacher recommendation that is required for MIT, and he won't do it because he 'doesn't know me well enough'.

Well last semester he said I was done with English completely, so I scheduled a bunch of math/science/engineering courses to build a good application for MIT/Stanford and get me ready for it. Now, since I have to take the English class, I can't take Calc 2 or Chemistry 2, haven't decided which one to drop yet...

 

If he wouldn't have said I was done with English, I could have taken it this semester and been fine.

 

I'm really not sure what to do about the Math recommendation. My freshman year I went to a high school across the country and never got to know my teacher. My sophomore year was the one I already asked. My Junior and Senior (current) years are being done at the University of Minnesota, and the professors have ~200 students each, there's no way they will know me enough to write a recommendation. I don't even know their names.... I'll just have to get my sophomore Biology teacher to do it, and hope it's good enough... I'm at about average stats for last year's acceptance statistics for MIT, and the acceptance rate is about 10%. Very slim chances <_<

 

Really the only hope I have is that I started college full time when I was 16 at the beginning of my junior year of high school, hopefully they'll recognize that I can do good in college classes and accept me :unsure:

Good luck man. Don't worry too much about the statistics; being around the average is good enough. Your interview and essays will weigh a lot more than your grades. Your teacher recommendations are also very important, but I'm sure they would be very understanding of your situation if you specify that; they have room on the application just for situations like yours. And one thing most people miss with MIT is that they require two SAT subject tests: one in math, and one in science.
