And what one should not forget, there are also the Clan Wars updates lurking behind the corner. With it comes a new option to lose every item on death, which will occur on loads and loads of Dharok's, Whips and Runes just dissapearing from the game.

This will definately help the economy and may put some love back into mining and smithing. I would expect to see levels rising in those two skills.

It is a fact that when money becomes tight prices fall. This is why I believe prices might drop. How many times can a f2p lose full rune before they cannot afford another set? As far as I can ascertain from the little information given so far by JAGeX in a one v one fight both players will lose food, arrows, pots, runes etc and one will lose everything and the only item gained will be an untradeable piece of fancy gear. In order to prevent RWT they cannot gain thousands of gp.

I agree that this is idle speculation but I certaintly do not intend putting all my money into cooked trout on the off chance that the original poster is spot on in his guesswork.

Wait a minute, where did they say the item would be untradeable? There will be unique PvP items (usable only on those servers), and drops that can only be gotten from PK. What that means is that these PK unique items will garner MUCH, MUCH higher prices as the cost to get them are high.

**High rewards for kills. To avoid any RWT issues the reward for a successful PK will be generated by the game, similar to when you kill a monster at the moment. We're creating generous drop tables based on factors like your levels and the impressiveness of the kill.

**These drop tables will include "PvP world specific" items like XP-modifying gear, lvl 70+ equipment and new, glorious, short-term but hard hitting gear. These will once again make PKing a viable source of income.

Granted, it'll be easy to "game" the system. Two level 130's can hammer away at each other, eating sharks, carrying what the GE considers expenisive items (but players consider junk). So it looks like a long battle with lots of risk (items) at stake, ergo an impressive kill. And you know what, I think Jagex wants that in a way. It's no more than players that make hundreds of runs through the barrows day after day.

Items leave the game, prices go up since the demand for the items will increase (players have to replenish stock).

I used the term "Untradeable" because it states that the items will be PVP specific. I assume that these will be valuable but only within the pking population. The items will not generate cash outside these worlds and I also assume that these will be considered the valuable items by JAGeX.

However I do use the term "assume" very liberally.

One thing you mention regarding junk makes me wonder whether bringing in noted tiaras or hard leather bodies etc will occur in f2p as they are worth more in GE than you can really sell them for.

I've been very confused about the nw loot system. Will we get a randomly generated object, or will it be objects dropped by the player?

Get back here so I can rub your butt.

Yes, i like that :)

I was thinking about mining to get some cash for a lil something i wanna buy, but wasnt sure how long it would take..

The thing that im worried about is... if there is a lot on pvp wrlds... wouldn't the other wrlds be crowded at mining sites?

Lets hope not :wall:

Hmm, loosing a random item might not work that well. Then everyone will walk around with an inventory full of bronze med helms or something, to increase the chance of keeping good items.

Notable Drops:

5 X Dragon Axe.......1 X D Skirt...............1 X Bandos Platebody

3 X Zerker Ring.......1 X Bandos Hilt

4 X Warrior Ring......1 X Bandos Tassets

what about food..?

Solo GWD'er

Drops: Bandos Hilt x 1/ boots x 1 / Steam staff x 1 / Shards x 9

99 Str/ 99 Att/ 99 HP (More to come...)

I agree there may possibly be a bonus in there for skillers if items are lost, and are replaced by what will be random drops from tables.

The interesting part will be what these drop tables contain, which are supposed to make PKing a viable means of earning from the drops alone. If a lot of the drops are non-tradable, and PvP World only gear, all the tradeable items that are heavily used (cheap but still effective for PvP) may indeed grow in demand.

It may mean though, that if PvP increases, consumables will be in much greater demand, especially if the drop tables aren't full of food, potions, arrows and runes.

--

edit: Maybe low level PvP around towns using Bronze, Iron and other gear might see some demand though, especially if after a battle, the victor is interrupted before he can raid the losers gravestone, or is killed by another player themselves. In that way items may indeed be destroyed and need replacing.

Most likely it'll be when you're killed all your items disappear and your killer gets a random drop from a pre-determined drop table (not items from your inventory).

I hope that Jagex uses the gravestone though, and your killer can loot the tombstone for his random drop (destroying all your things in the process).

I strongly suspect this will be the case to avoid the obvious exploit of friends killing each other for PvP drops, at no risk (by recovering their items at the gravestone). So there will be a need to prevent this, by making items lost in PvP battles be destroyed when the victor loots.

What if someone decides to only bring a partyhat then, seems like it would be easy to trade items.

I kinda hate the new pvp becoz i get own from it alot but if it is 4 fun then yes i do like it if not then i find it is a waste of money to get armour.

Of course, pking coming back will greatly influence and improve skilling. Pots/weaps/armors/food/runes/arrows etc will all be much more in demand, assuming of course, that pking becomes popular. Even non-combat items will be used more because pkers use them to level their combat stats. For example, cosmics could be used to level magic for pkers who want access to higher level spells.

All i'm saying is be smart and stock up on supplies ;-).

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

dear god...your right, maybe this will finally fix (most of) the economy?

edit: just thought of something, what happens about bosses on PVP worlds? some guy craashes you so you d scim spec him and he dies of boss attacks or something?

2Xeo5.png
I don't think they'd have Gravestones, because in high-populated areas you wouldn't be able to click anywhere due to a mass-amount of Gravestones all over lol.

Example: A clan war outside Falador.

I agree.

I like the idea of a randomly generated drop. Like killing monsters. Perhaps the more difficult the kill, the greater chance of a good item?

dgs5.jpg
To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Hm a question about the random item generated reward. What happens if two people meet each other and just take turns killing each other?

I fail to see how inviting the scum back will make runescape better at all.

If you don't like the sale price of things then don't sell them.

When the markets run dry then the prices will rise.

He just successfully trolled you with "courtesy" and managed to get a reaction out of you. Lol

PKers are happy, Skillers are happy, & I get to try PKing for the first time.

Everybody is happy (except for the merchants.).

Smart merchants buy now and sell when it's high in price. Everybody is happy.
