The G/E babies people

Featured Replies

Remember, way back when, when you couldn't find anything on the forums (like molten glass), so you had to go to the Range Guild, get a glassblowing pipe, and then find a bucket and get some sand, just to make molten glass for a bull-eye lantern?

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

My point is, now anyone can buy stuff on the G/E instead of travelling across RuneScape to gather materials and make it. Promotes laziness IMO, and even though its convenient, it makes the game a little boring now that you can just stand there, wait for that "Duhnana Dum Dee Dum De Da" tone and get your bullseye lantern. I myself would rather take the leisure time and go around getting the stuff and who knows? I might come over some random event or get a clue scroll or something while travelling and get myself some 3rd Age or whatever.

Point is, G/E makes things too easy and too boring IMO.

I kind of agree, the fun of making your own stuff for quests or minigames has been taken out, but don't forget you don't have to use the GE, you could just ignore it and make stuff like you used to.

It wasn't fun it was annoying, i'd rather have the stuff instantly.

I always thought it was fun to go half way across the world to gather something trivial like a bullseye lantern or a silver sickle etc.

Althiugh I hated it when I had to get something that was in a horrible place, and would take a long time to make.

The GE is good if you really are in a rush, but sometimes I like to just take my time and gather everything I need myself.

Completely agree with Skully here, I've been annoyed way too much because of items that were annoying to get.

agreed, i think it especially takes away from quests, and the TT with "wear diamond ring" it would be so much harder if i couldn't instantly get it from the GE.

i don't play psykick anymore... i play 2ed: "pure fett"

but thats what made it more rewarding. spending a measly 5min to get some item like rope or a spade. when g/e wasnt there, ud have to walk to it. and that in itself was a mini adventure and was fun

I still collect and make my self. it is good for selling tho. cant sell without a buyer and all that.

Some things that used to be worthless before G.E and some things worth more. All in all i dont mind but its nice to get a fast sale.

It seems that power gamers would be very likely to prefer the G.E. to the old-fashioned, time consuming way.

I would bet the roleplaying type of player would prefer the old system, without the G.E.

I kinda like both, but I did most of my playing before the G.E.

If you want to get your own materials no one is stopping you. Before the G.E. we still had the same system, just by a different name, it was called world 2 fally garden. Nothing has changed, the location of the market place just moved.

World 2 was just impossible to get on, and my computer would lag off cause off all the people

I would rather buy stuff. It's really annoying to go across Runescape just to get something stupid. The Quests are fun, preparing for them is not.

If you get a kick from walking to get a shovel, something is wrong with you.

I want to go kill barrows brothers for items, I dont want to have to take mini-adventures to item spawns to get things like spades, and then have to world hop 500 times just to buy all the runes and armor.

God, you people complain "ohhhh these training spots are too crowded" "ohhhh this skill takes to much [time;clicking;energy;etc]"

Now when you get a fix, its "ohhhh its overpowered" "ohhh it makes the game too easy"

i peed my pants a little when i read "Pepperidge Farm remembers."

haha, cleverly slipped in there...hahaha

Good reference.

Anyways, yeah, it makes us more lazy, but i'd rather buy it off GE than walk for days and blowing for days.

hmmm...we got two scenarios...

1: Man goes to Lumbridge Swap and goes down hole to get swamp tar spends a long long long time getting the amount they need for hunting.

2: man goes to g.e. buys large amount of tars and BAM! time saved which is made back in money.

i would choose option 2 but I know till today some people still use 1.hmm :P

even i have the misfile craze!!!

Nobody's forcing you to buy your bulls eyes lantern at the GE. You could just make it yourself like in the "old times". Meanwhile, other people who don't like wasting time on that will buy it, wether you like it or not it's not your business what other people do.

So you're saying that preparing for quests like In Aid of Myreque was fun?

That was the thing that I hated about quests. It drove me insane. But now that the GE is out, I love quests.

Heaven forbid people have fun while playing a game!

People will always enjoy the game differently. For me I enjoy getting things instantly and do not find it boring, as some do, and I totally respect people who want to live up their gaming experience by going and getting the supplies by themselves. ::'

I personally never enjoyed the ridiculous endless treks for useless items. I love the GE.

If you don't want to buy it and feel like gathering it yourself is fun, you're more than free to do so.
