Ah why thank you, and a happy Mol day to you too!

Today in chemistry my teacher made mole-shaped cookies for the class to eat.

Could someone please explain this to me? At school in the science hallway there's a sign about it but what is it?

to convert grams to mols, you divide by that number under the letter on the periodic table, to get from grams to atoms, you times it by Alexandro's number 10^23 and thats how many atom's you have. but you can do alot with mol's besides finding number of atoms, its used alot in stoichiometry

still don't understand a [cabbage] of it

How does 20 minutes turn into 2.5 hours? Was your math perhaps magical math?

That would be Avogrado's number 1.0 X 10^23

;)

That would actually be Avogadro, and it's 6.022 x10^23 particles in 12g of C-12.

;)

I had a Biology exam today. Yay providence.

ahh yes, i had a talk about this in chemistry class. all the chemists out there go partying at 6:22pm in the date of october 23. really funny imo.

for those of you who don't get it. the "mole" formula is 6.022 x 10^23. which is a scientific notation to find the mole amount of objects or matter. look it up on wiki or just a grow a few years if you want to find out.

Those parties must be crazy.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

^I can only imagine...

Are there any other nerd holidays I should be aware of so I can celebrate them? Besides pi day?

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

Oh Lord, I remember Mol Day from my old chemistry class. We ordered pizza and had a big party in class. I think it had less to do with mols, and more to do with our teacher just not wanting to teach that day.

I make a toast in the name of Lorenzo Romano Amedeo Carlo Avogadro!

Stoichiometry was always a pain in the [wagon], barely passed Chemistry because of it.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.

Never heard of it. However, I did have a chemistry exam today.

No need for a hidden Rick Roll, please don't do it again.

Would it not be more logical to hold the party at 6:02?

Or better yet, 6:02:12 (since 12 = .2 of 60 seconds)

In Soviet Russia, glass eats OTers.

Alansson Alansson, woo woo woo!

Pink owns yes, just like you!

GOOOOOOOOOO ALAN! WOO!

O I forgot about that. I love moles.

I make a toast in the name of Lorenzo Romano Amedeo Carlo Avogadro!

*raises coffe cup*

Aye!

Our class made stuffed moles and named them as homework to celebrate.

Mine was Albert Molestein. ;)

Those parties must be crazy.

Woo, let's kick this party in to gear, bring out the CAFFEINATED coffee, oh yes, we're rebels!

A mol shows how much substance was in soemthing.

And Stoichiometry was so easy, even though I still can't spell it, I loved it. Unlike Thermo Chem, ugh, that was a pain. Physics is so much easier this year, lol.

Two years ago, my chemistry teacher caught an injured mole about a week before mole day. She nursed it back to health and showed it to us. It was awesome. Too bad she went to jail on molestation charges. She was a great teacher.

This year my AP chem teacher had a back surgery, and can't teach us. Maybe the TA's that are running the class will celebrate mole day with us...
