My IDEAL December Behind the Scenes. What's yours?

Featured Replies

Probably an overhaul on Magic to make combat spells more cost effective. Right now fire bolt, the cheapest spell that does a decent amount of damage, costs as much as a crystal bow and is way weaker. And the more powerful spells, like fire wave or claws of guthix, are extremely expensive compared to melee or range.

Burst/barrage should cost the same as they do now, though.

Fire bolt, same price as crystal bow, way weaker.

Well for one, duh its weaker. Not to mention they are in the same side of the combat triangle.

And same price? Whatever your smoking that made you choose your avatar your probably on it again.

All in all this sounds like a 5 year olds christmas list for Runescape. But I can safely say that when the BTS comes out, 99% of your ideas wont be in there, as they are overpowered, too much dev time, and, just dont fit the game.

This basically is a christmas list, he isn't trying to predict what is coming, so your prediction fails.

And btw safing is a myth.

BloodArgon, thanks for your feedback. Although I would say that I created this thread just to show the kind of updates I wished for, and not as true suggestion thread. As such some of the things listed are a bit far fetch, while most do not go into details. Neither do I take credits for all of the ideas, some have been posted over and over in RSOF as well as Tip.It forum.

However regarding the crush stab and slash bonus part, it's actually the fact that *most* people with attack 40 will choose rune scimitar over any other rune weapon for training, regarding of their monster's defence bonus. Reason being there isn't much of a visible difference in damage output even when your monster has high slash defence and low crush/stab defence bonus, as well as the fact that scimitar's attack rate is relatively faster. That's why I added another part of revising the weapon speed to make the speed difference smaller.

I don't really understand your bitterness actually. Afraid that no more new content would be added in the future? RuneScape's storyline has so much more that has yet to unfold. There are at least 4 storylines in quests that isn't completed. The game can go much further and have more depth in gameplay, and you want to be satisfied with magic being just a skill where you get the rune, cast the spell, and see the damage? With sapphires made into ring/necklace/amulet/bracelet, and then repeat the formula with the other gems?

Please don't take the first post word for word, things can be fine tuned if they are ever released. 20mil for a new gem? No one said that, and personally I would disagree too, if miners have such a huge profit based on luck.

If you call all those I've mentioned as Uber content, I'm sorry to tell you that I view most of them as nothing more than solutions to flaws that have existed and should have been patched, long long ago. Or basic systems that most games have, that RuneScape can choose not to have to remain *original*, and basically just hurt their gameplay more. Read it light heartedly, and enjoy the current RuneScape.

I think:

Skill based castle wars:

As well as using combat, skillers would be able to obliterate higher level opponents. In this fast paced, action-packed minigame, you could NEVER underestimate your opponent.

With farming for example, you could set vine traps. An enemy is running towards you. Suddenly a vine would appear. They would be trapped for 30 seconds and if they moved they would be hit for mass damage (20-30 damage).

Each skill (excluding combat skills) would require 1 of 3 levels. Low level = 30, Medium level = 60, High level = 90.

E.G.

30 agility = ability to go through some shortcuts and climb the ranger/mage tower without any ropes.

60 agility = increased access to shortcuts and ability to climb the vine to the 2nd floor of the opponents base.

90 agility = access to all shortcuts and ability to climb the level 3 vine to the top of the opponents base for easy flag access.

There would be measures to keep it from being overpowered, like a 3 second wait to climb the vines, as well as not being able to climb back down them.

Rewards would include animated armour/robes of that particular skill in addition to a small bonus.

Agility Armour:

agility helmet: -1 kg

agility platebody: -3kg

agility platelegs: -2kg

Looks like: Robes made out of rocks. Small rocks occasionally fall from them.

Fishing Robes:

Fishing hat: increased chance of catching a fish twice.

Fishing robe top: increased chance of catching a fish twice.

Fishing robe bottom: increased chance of catching a fish twice.

Wearing all 3 pieces of fishing robe would give you a 1 in 10 chance of catching a fish twice (exp excluded).

Looks like: Flowing water robes

Smithing armour:

Smithing helmet: increased chance at speeding up smelting ores and smithing bars

Smithing platebody: increased chance at speeding up smelting ores and smithing bars

Smithing platelegs: increased chance at speeding up smelting ores and smithing bars

Looks like: At first it looks like rune armour, but then blocks protrude from the armour and within a second, the blocks rotate, and go back into the armour, changing colour while they rotate, to become a different coloured armour. (This would be like on the transformers movie, only with this, the armour would slowly change colours between bronze and rune)

That's 4 years of ideal (for you) updates. One every 3-6 months to keep the members happy in between all the quests and holidays and lame updates.

b6ebdf2a12.png

armycommandercopy.png

you ask for my ideal december bts; 1st i'll give you what will happen. december-mobilising armies, random event fixes, christmas event and probably another event quest, maybe something else.

your ideas would cover more than a single month but nice work laying your thoughts out and some decent ideas.

i would want something similar to the 1st bts. the 1st ever! 31 march 2004 they layed out what updates would be coming over the next year; this was just after rs2 was released.

cut to the chase; i'm hoping high lvls will be able to opt out of getting random events but we'll see. i'd like them to add 700 additional bank spaces and 12 more slots. new spells for mages that give defence bonuses against melee attacks. fix the not in combat thing where mages and archers can be attacking someone and then be attacked by someone else in non-multi. i'd like the game to not close after like 1 minute not doing anything. i try to smelt and use the smelt-x and it logs me out; that's just stupid; so i'd like that to be changed. i'd like them to actually do the random generated scenarios mentioned oh so long ago. and icelands polar bears? where are they? we want polar bears!!!111 yeah. and mammoths. and dinosaurs for that matter. i want to summon skeletons that's right and demons how about that? an exchange for a fully grown summon pet for something like death runes is for cat. what's up with orcs and lizardmen? that was mentioned back in 2004.

aside from those things they mentioned that they havent added, i'd like to know what the next skill is going to be or the next 2 or 3 skills; i can wait, i mean they mentioned construction and farming a long time before they were released. would give some life to those that look forward to new skills. i'd also like an update and more information on mechscape. maybe another monkey madness quest? i'd like them to offer shapeshifting character options. i think that's enough for now. but there is no shortage of ideas and unfortunately the people with the best ideas are usually overlooked because loud obnoxious people push their way into jagex consciousness and others go unheard because they are drowned out by those type of people.

[hide=-this is my signature- guides i've written]full list is at the top of <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=775754">viewtopic.php?f=180&t=775754</a><!-- l -->[/hide]

Worst suggestion I've heard so far.

Zerker_jane.png

Errm, that is not a BTS, that is a whole new game you are designing. Seriously, as much as i appreciate your boyish enthusiasm, you don't want to make the game better, but rather completely change the old one. What isn't broken, shouldn't be fixed, adding a number of those updates to the game would surely cause havoc and bring out much more problems on a larger scale.

Due to a recent fashion statement we have decided to include sombreros to our fellow runescapians, viva la revolution!

On a further note we have decided to give everyone at jagex a month off, have fun without us,losers.

Incredible, we get a good topic, and all some of you find to say is "Omg your ideas r bad". They aren't even suggestions, knobs

On another note, if we get sombreros (Good-looking sombreros!) Imma not ask for any other update ever <3: Unless of course the sombreros are super-impossible to get, in which case I would complain.

And now I have a pretext [hide=]scqq9w.jpg[/hide]

Nice you have some really great ideas; I hope that sometime in the near future Jagex can use those suggestions. I specifically like the combat re-vamp (Having stab, slash and crush more utilized; like at Waterfiends).

[hide=Response to your ideas]

Ever fantasize of an ideal Behind the Scenes that'll make people go WOAH and WOOT, a BTS that can bring back the excitment to RuneScape? I took a break from fishing (perhaps longer than expected), and typed out my ideal BTS of random revamps, improvement and perhaps some impossible updates, adding some that I've seen on the forums, thinking of new ones while typing ::' What's yours?

IT'S LONG, SCAN THROUGH TO SEE THE HEADLINES YOU WANT TO READ ABOUT. More may be added later when I'm free.

Disclaimer: The following wall of text is completely fictional, except for the santa suit section. Don't go ranting at Jagex in December when you don't see any of these on the December BTS, or any other BTS.

Behind the Scenes DECEMBER

Greetings fellow runescapers. In this month's BTS, we at Jagex want to surprise you guys, especially players who have followed us throughout the years. We have not one, not two, but a whole TRUCKLOAD of updates, changes and overhauls for everything from graphics to content!

New RuneScape Rule and Tutorial Program

We've added Rule Number X: Incessant Begging and Immature Behavior. Players will be banned from the game for a few hours up to a few days, but no blackmarks will be issued.

The tutorial for players who are new to RuneScape now includes a lesson on player etiquette, to save the rest of the community from noobish behavior, flaming, begging, spaming.......

No, people don't like beggars but Jagex would never implement. People would be joking around with their friends, "Phr33 st0of Pl0x" and some random guy is like "Omg reported noob" and it would be a huge annoyance to Jagex.

Updates

We've promised to bring you one major update once a week, with one small update every 4-week month and two small updates every 5-week month. However, the Jagex team feels that quests are an essential part of the game, and new quests shouldn't take up an update slot. From now on, one quest will be released per month, as with the monthly Postbag from the Hedge, Letters to NPCs and Artwork Gallery!

*NEW* We've added the new Editorial section, to answer serious questions from serious players with a serious tone. Why does teleblock have a chance to fail, while teleport ensure 100% escape in PVP? Why include baiting in Hunter when it has no visible benefit and no one uses them? How many members are on the RuneScape team? Why are pure essence not stackable? Who is Andrew Grower?

One quest every month as well as the normal updates would take too much work on Jagex work. Each update Jagex comes out with takes them a long time to get it all written up, put in code, tested, and they have to do a lot of work, making the normal updates as well as an extra quest would just be too much. As for the editorial, that idea isn't bad, I personally just think they should bring back customer support, where you can send in your questions and stuff. I guess that's basically what you said.

Random Events

Now that Real World Trading has been heavily curbed, and bots are no longer as common as before, we feel that random events are no longer necessary. They will all be removed from 3rd December onwards, so treasure your last meeting

Incidentally, the Mysterious Old Man, Sandwich Lady, Peasant farmer along with the rest of the crew has decided to relocate themselves at Draynor and Port Sarim. Some of them may be selling snacks to passer-by, giving you lamps and books once a week or just minding their own business. Three-tailed pet peasant anyone?

Jagex does need to remove some random events but not all of them. They do need changed though. They ought to remove some of the really annoying ones, and also make them give a better reward, such as giving maybe 500 exp instead of 500 gp. Also they need to change it so that you can't get randoms in certain places, most importantly, PVP worlds.

Combat System

First off, several changes have been made to the combat system. We feel that it's time to change the old combat system, which had been in use for over 6 years.

<3: **You'll now find that the crush, stab and slash bonus affects the consistency of your damage more than before! See what happens if you try to slash at someone in runite platebody! In addition, magic bonus has been further divided into fire, water, air and earth elemental defences, while range bonus is now divided into impact and pierce bonus!

<3: **Defence is now a universal skill for all 3 combat types!

Not bad. I feel that crush, stab, and slash should affect it more, they should make it so that certain armors have a lot of defence in one part, but not nearly so much in other parts. Like make it so that instead of something be like 75, 80, 85 in defence, it could be like 50, 150, 50. Magic bonus, eh, I'm not entirely sure on that, I think just magic defence is fine. And range, I think that should just stay basic range bonus. Also, defence is a universal skill. Melee and range defence is based entirely on your defence level, and mage defence is based 30% on your defence level, and 70% on your mage level, which I feel is the way it should be.

Equipment, Old and New

We're sure that many players are sick of hearing the same old names (runite, dragon, barrows). Rather than releasing one or two sets of armour and weapons and waste one update slot later, we've released equipment for all three combat types for level 13, 15, 18, 23, 25, 28, 33, 35, 38....all the way to level 75! Don't worry, our newly expanded Content Team is bringing you equipments for level 85 soon!

On a side note, we've released equipment pieces which should have been there long ago. No point dragging along the years without a full dragon set, or a matching non-recharging coif for your dragonhide armour. Figure the rest on your own!

Armour for each combat type for every 3 levels is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much. Maybe every 15 or something, but no way should it be every 3, that would just get annoying. Although the full dragon set and a coif that you don't have to recharge sounds good.

New Mage Equipment Class

Mages now have new equipment category!

Totems: These pretty crystal ornaments greatly boost your magic attack and defence bonus! Wield them in your shield slot today!

Mage spell books: Hunt and collect these new mage books! With their hardcover back, they provide some melee defence bonus against your prey! What's more, each book comes with it's own unique spells that appear on your spell shortcut slot on the combat interface!

<3: Binds & Snare for beginners: Bind, Snare spells

<3: Advanced Movement Constriction: Bind, Snare, Entangle and the *NEW* Entrap! (20 seconds bind spell). Reduce spell cost by 1 nature rune, up to a minimum cost of 1 nature rune.

<3: Controlling the mind and body Level 1-3: for your respective 5%, 10% and 15% stats reducing spell)

I guess totem isn't a horrible idea, but it sounds a bit too over powered. I think they should just add a few new shields that mages could use. As for mage spellbooks, that sounds good, but they shouldn't have too many of those, or else there are just way to many spells. The movement constriction spells, I guess those could work. I don't really the what the controlling the mind and body thing is.

Knockback for Rangers

Tired of shooting arrow and bolts behind rocks and bushes? Your bows and crossbows now have a chance to make monsters and stop in their track, and a smaller chance of knocking them back one square! The better the weapon yo wield, the higher the chance of knockback happening. Now rangers can stand on their own!

No, would be annoying and would make range too good.

Party System

Tired of being on your own? We've increased the areas of multicombat zones, as well as added more monsters on this giant landscape! Hill giant herds, goblin packs, dragon tribes, hunt them with your party members within 20 by 20 squares of the leader! Earn extra exp boost up to 15% with 4 members in your party! To form a party, add them to your *NEW* party interface to chat and fight at the same time.

Don't entirely understand this one.

Equipment changes and requirements

We've revised the stats of some of the eqiupment, and feel that changes need to be made:

<3: Dragonhide leggings and vambraces now have the same defence requirement as the body.

<3: Battle staves and mystic staves have had their magic bonus boosted to fit their increased cost.

<3: Attack requirement for weapons of the same metal type has been revised. (Eg, From rune dagger at level 31 attack to rune 2-hander, and battle axes at level 40 attack)

<3: Weapon speed has been revised, so that difference between different speed is reduced, speed gradient is gentler, and damage output of weapons fit their respective attack requirement.

<3: The dark bow has its firing speed slightly boosted to ensure that it has more damage output that magic shortbow, and hence better training value.

Dhide leggings and vambraces don't have as good defence and if you made them have higher defence, it would really piss off a lot of pures. Bad idea.

I guess that battle and mystic staves could use a bit of a mage bonus.

As for attack requirement for weapons, no, all rune should have same requirement, all addy should have same requirement, etc..

The weapon speed, I don't entirely understand.

Dark bow, yes it should have increased speed, it's too slow.

Firemaking Skill

While this skill was added to assist players in cooking without a range, the skill has literally no benefits today. Therefore, we give it an overhaul to fit RuneScape HD.

New (and old) areas and dungeon are now TOTALLY PITCH BLACK! Light up the area using tools with 10 varying levels of brightness of Eerie Glow to Blinding Light). You'll find that even with the 99 firemaking pre-requisite tool, you'll only be able to see up to 5 by 4 squares. Withut proper lighting, you'll find that your character takes more damage from combat than usual, and sometimes fail to auto retaliate. Explore with your teammates, overlap your light sources to see the true horror and danger of these location!

Fire from logs now last for different time period based on log types and firemaking level.

Eh, maybe add a couple dungeons with this but if you had this with every single dungeon, or even a lot of the dungeons, it would get EXTREMELY annoying, so no, although they do need to do something to make the firemaking skill better.

Crafting and New Slots

Bracelets now have a new look, looking more like bracelets and less like vambraces! New bracelets, rings and necklaces have been added to the game. Be aware though, these jewelery requires multiple steps in crafting multiple gems of different types, and you have a very high chance of failing at ANY STEP, destroying the whole product. Enchant them to see the addition benefits they provide!

<3: We've also added the new bracelet slot, to accomodate the expansion in jewelery, now players can get the best of both worlds!

Not really needed, and if they do add it, they should not make it that difficult to make it.

Mining

What are Sunstone, Neptune Gem and Rainbow Crystal? That's right, new gems, which are a crucial part of the new jewelery! Miners now have a chance to get these rare gems whilst mining. We've added new mining locations in more.....adventurous locations where chance of finding these gems is higher, but beware, they are still as rare as your treasure trail items and godsword parts!

Just like the above jewelry update, not really needed. You shouldn't make things like this that rare, it can mess up the economy.

Summoning

After months since the release and revamp of summoning and summoning 2, we felt that low level players with combat under 30 and summoning under 25 have no benefits from using familiars, simply because they don't last long enough. All familiars now last a minimum of 30 minutes, so that low level players can use combat familiars more effectively to boost their damage, rather than summoning a spirit wolf every 6 minutes.

It doesn't make sense that summoning gives you up to 12 combat levels, and yet doesn't boost your damage in single combat zone. We've modified the system so that your familars can now attack the monster you're attacking. Their damage in single combat zone will be slightly reduced as well.

On the other hand, combat familars in multicombat zone will now be able to attack another target that players choose. Some of their scroll abilities have also been modified to hit multiple targets, with better accuracy. Defence and hitpoints of the familiars have also been boosted slightly so that familiars can stand on their own better, but don't expect to a level 57 spirit kyatt to fight on equal footing with a black demon!

Lastly, we've fixed two problems with the familiars.

<3: When players run, familiars will now run behind the players, instead of slowly stroll along. The whistle button will still be there should your familiar be trapped behind walls etc.

<3: The 'walk here' option has been made the first option when you accidentally click on another player's pet or familiar.

I personally like all of these ideas.

Cooking

New recipes have been added! The Lumbridge Cook has went on a trip to every corner of Gielinor, from Lunar Isles to Keldagrim. It's been a fruitful trip indeed, and you may now discover how to prepare SOPHISITCATED delicacies that heal up to 30 HP, using old and new ingredient alike! Save yourself from that lucky 70 damage hit from the Armadyl Godsword!

30 hp per food is really overpowered. You'd need to make them really hard to make or really expensive or else that would just be too overpowered while pking.

Construction

Fans of the construction skill, we've not forgotten about you. Based on player feedback and suggestions on the forums, we added a few new rooms, as well as features to the existing ones.

<3: The "You can only have one games room" restriction has bee removed.

<3: More costumes from quests and minigames can now be stored in the costume room. In addition, we've added the fancy costume box and shoe rack, as well as changed some of the old ones to better categorize the items.

-Treasure chest: Treasure trail items

-Wardrobe: Magic robes

-Armour case: Metal armours, ranger armour

-Toy box: Holiday items and costume

-Fancy costume box: Clothes obtained during quests, as well as rewards from minigames that has no significant training values in any of the 3 combat types

-Cape rack: Shoes

-Shoe rack: Capes

*The shoe/rack section, our Technical Team is still trying to get them to store the right things, bear with us for a while.

All sounds alright, not really needed but alright.

Graphics, Technical Update and Day-Night System

That's right, the Graphics Team of Jagex has finally complete Phase Two of the graphical update for HD! We've fixed every glitch that's been posted on the forum, thanks to the help of you, our loyal players. Graphics for the various races, as well as proportion of certain things such as trees, buildings and monsters has been updated! You'll find that the King Black Dragon is now King-Size, the land of Zanaris looks more fairy-like, and the Grand Tree looks grander than ever!

You may sometimes find certain restriction in your travel, such as no weapons when using the flying carpet. Those restriction were implemented due to technical problems, but they've all been resolved! We love the Technical Team don't we?

Finally, night time in Gielinor! You may have been amazed by the effects of night-time during the Halloween Event, and now they're here to stay! We will be fine-tuning the rotation between day and night during the next few weeks based on player feedback, so stay tuned!

Sounds fun, although I think that you should be able to turn the day/night feature on or off.

Guilds and Minigames

We've heard of your opinions, rants, pleas and suggestions on the old guilds and minigames of RuneScape. For the next few weeks, guilds will be revamped in looks and usefulness! Find increasingly access to various section of the guild, use special facilities, and be the top guild member! Who will be the top shark fisher in the fishing guild? Who holds the number one spot of best fighter in the Combat guild? It'll all be here this month!

Let's not forget the minigames. Fishing trawler plagued by looters? We've fixed that! A headgear from Chompy Bird Hunting that has no benefits after thousands of kills? How about better hit accuracy on chompy and jubbly birds when worn, and a fun new Chompy and Jubbly bird costume to run about in Varrock? Battle Robes not worth the recharge cost? We've fixed that too! Be surprised this month!

I like the guild thing, they could really be increased in usefulness. As for minigames, those don't sound horrible either, a lot of those kind of things could really be boosted.

Christmas Event, and more events!

Did you know that fairies in Zanaris celebrate the Fairy Queen's Birthday in February with a grand birthday bash? And Falador has a horseback dueling competition in July? And Ardougne has an annual archery match on the grass patch outside the Ranged Guild? That's right, expect these annual events in RuneScape, plus more! Collect event items, make a name for yourself as the champion of the year, or simply indulge in the festive atmosphere!

Last but not least, Christmas is here! Be sure to partcipate and collect your Santa suit, pet reindeer, and who knows, maybe a secret reward? (Who says we can only release one reward?)

Looks like fun.

[hide=Response to your ideas]

Sounds fun, although I think that you should be able to turn the day/night feature on or off.

Guilds and Minigames

We've heard of your opinions, rants, pleas and suggestions on the old guilds and minigames of RuneScape. For the next few weeks, guilds will be revamped in looks and usefulness! Find increasingly access to various section of the guild, use special facilities, and be the top guild member! Who will be the top shark fisher in the fishing guild? Thankyou.

You can't have like 20 updates in a month, or even your suggested, 4 a month. Everytime you have a major update, something below it is downgraded. Such as dragon armour, which basically no one thinks is good because there are many better armours above it now. And no one really uses iron, steel or mith a lot, so what good would adding armours for 33,35,38 do? Otherwise nice effort on making the whole thing and getting some ideas running.

Tbfgraphx14

Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.

  • Author

Yea, the "new armour every 2-3 levels" is an exaggerated version. But I think that every 5 would be good to provide more variety. Players can always choose whether to switch armour, depending on whether they have rich friends, got lucky at a party drop.....

Actually, dragon equipment isn't bad in terms of stats and looks. It's just not worth the price, which is why people who have the requirements to equip it tends to skip it and go straight to barrows. If there is a level 60 equipment which has better stats than the level 50 one, and doesn't cost exponentially higher, who wouldn't switch to it?

No armour at any level is useless (unless there is a better set at the same level), adamant set is still useful to a player with level 30 defence. No one really uses iron or mithril set? You're just suffering from a little memory loss \' Everyone in the range of 10-30 defence have to wear some sort of armour at least? I remember wearing iron, steel, mith, and addy set (skipped black). The only problem being from level 1 to 30 defence , the experience needed is rather low, so these sets become outdated fast during your whole RuneScape career.

Digging skill FTW!

"Do you really want to go back to the time when Falador was grey, lesser demon look like goats, dragons look like cows, hellhound look like cats and your character stands as stiff as a statue?"

The latest Achievement Diary is now available. Players completing the Rellekka Achievement Diaries will find handsome rewards, including (but not limited to) a new form of warp transport that allows you to set your own transport points! As such powers obviously cannot be handed over to neophytes, substantial skill requirements are a prerequisite.

We have reconfigured the Shooting Star event so that miners may only discover one star every 3 hours. We feel this compromise will allow people to hunt more than one star a day, while preventing rogues from switching worlds and claiming more than their share of discovery bonuses. Miners will also no longer gain experience after they have accumulated 200 star dust. This will work in the same way as Zaff's battlestaves, so don't be getting any crafty ideas about dropping your dust!

We have been thinking about our implementation of random events and how they fit into the grand scheme of things. While we agree they have become a nuisance of Brobdignian proportions, certain of the Mods here have a sentimental attachment to the old buzzards and didn't want to remove them completely. In a compromise worthy of Solomon, your old friends Dr, Jekyll, the Sandwich Lady, Leo, the Mysterious Old Man, Cap'n Hand, Niles, Miles, Giles, the Drunken Dwarf, "Evil" Bob, the Evil Chicken, Freaky Forester, Molly, the Genie, the frogs, river trolls, tree spirits, Capt' Arnav, shades, the Bee Keeper, the Genie, the Mine, Rick Turpentine, strange plants, the Quiz Master, Mr. Mordaut, Prison Pete, the Security Guard, Pious Pete, Dr. Ford, and Sergeant Damien have all relocated to a newly-discovered island in the Southron Sea. Nostalgic players may still reach them by travelling by boat from Port Sarim and Ardougne to Retirement Island. While these retirees no longer dispense rewards or punishment, you will find a general store on the island that sells all of the old clothing items. Please note that genie lamps are not available for purchase, but you can take a weekly run through the maze and pinball machine for old time's sake.

You will also notice that the events that damaged axes and picks will no longer trouble you; the random eddies and big fish have also gone the way of the dodo.

We decided to allow Bob and Neite free reign to roam as they please, seeing as Bob has friends in high places and we could not refuse.

Players will find they are no longer logged out while chopping trees of fishing. We will, however, continue to log you out if you are merely standing still and doing nothing.

After careful consideration, we have removed the door from the forge at Edgeville. A magical force will prevent players from using the forge unless they are wearing their Varrock armour.

After lengthy consideration, the Varrock Council passed a motion to re-hire Thrandor and offer him his old job back, with a substantial pay rise and increased benefits package.

PvP is not for me

We have decided that it was unfair for members that at some point have become f2p again to render their banks useless due to the excessive amount of unusable items. Therefore we have made it so that your member items will be lost when returning to f2p.

Worst suggestion I've heard so far.
